Well, you've read the notes, the notes had the cover art for Red Gold, and now it is time for you to post until the artful cows come home.

I love the cover, BK!  I love orange/yellow/red sunny kinds of pictures. ;D

Well, it's the end of an era.  Last night, I got an e-mail from Capital Playhouse saying that they are no more.  They were a local community theater group that has been around for probably more than 25 years and put on some wonderful shows.  They owed $7500 in back rent AND another $64,502.22 in back taxes!  The IRS accepted "an Offer In Compromise"...the original debt owed was $220,000!! :o

Theater Artists Olympia was hoping to put on The Rocky Horror Show at their space.  We'll obviously have to make some other arrangements.  We did raise some money from Indiegogo.com, so we have to honor those pledges in some appropriate way.  There is a possibility to buy some of their equipment (any sales would go towards the IRS back taxes), so even though we don't have a lot of money to spend, we could help them a little...and help ourselves a bit, too.

Anyway, the very first shows that I performed in Olympia after I graduated from college were with Capital Playhouse (actually, their official name was "Capitol Playhouse '24" back then...yes, the '24 was part of their name...I don't know why).  I made some very good friends during that time and learned a LOT about acting, just by watching and doing.

They will be missed.

Good morning, all! I slept quite well, and I am ready to finish up ROBERTA this morning. I'll leave here around 9:30 and head to the studio.  i suspect we will finish up in early afternoon, hopefully before 2:00.

Yes, the cover is quite wonderful.

Sunday at 7 is turning out to be a tough sell, because it's Oscar night it seems, PLUS we're video-ing that night - so if anyone on HHW [or castrecl] wants a ticket (as the show's guest, that is), just email me by Thursday afternoon and I'll send you back a confirm that your ticket will be waiting for you.   It's a 30-minute one-act show, so should be plenty of time to get home for the Oscars if you're in NYC!

DR SINGDAW nobody looks very happy to be on that sheet music cover.

Congrats to DR FJL on his success!

Yes.....my Sunday rehearsal is supposed to end at 4 p.m. so I also have plenty of time to get home before the Academy Awards ceremony.

I am hopeful that I will win something this year....

Holy piano bar memories, Batman!

I'm sorry for not checking out your show in more detail, FJL. I've known and loved both your cast members for centuries, although I haven't seen them in ages. Jennifer Pace used to work at my beloved Eighty-Eights (and The Lovely Wife[tm] and I caught her "Every Goodbye is Hello" show there), and I remember Clare Cooper very fondly from the late (nearly as beloved) Rose's Turn. Her album "Valentine" is still pretty regularly played on Ye Olde iPod.

I don't know if they'd remember the goofy Jewish guy who used to sing Tom Lehrer songs, but please send my regards.

DR elmore3003 - Kevin Vortmann was a standout in Bernstein's Mass at Carnegie Hall under Marin Alsop a few years back.
