We would like to know where our missing UPS package is.  While we would like it to arrive it isn't urgent.

At least there's a tracking number for it. I've had lost USPS packages that can't be tracked.

I feel for you, DR Elmore. It is unnerving to think that your mail and packages could be getting delievered to wrong places, or just not at all!

I'm irritated because I do not like situations where the inmates are running the asylum. It's bad the post office manager is a fool, but some of the workers are worse. My carrier is a good guy, but while he's away, I'm suffering from fools.

This morning Redbox offered us a first option on Hunger Games: Catching Fire and Keith quickly reserved it.  We now have it in our possession to watch tonight.  I think popcorn is also in order.
I am looking forward to seeing this movie. Loved the books but did not get the chance to see this in the theatre.

But it isn't the correct tracking number.  It is for the package that was delivered in Arizona.

I did sent a flat rate priority mail  package which was delivered today.  Those come with tracking numbers which I like.

Since I didn't read the book I will not be able to judge the movie in comparison.

My initial email from UPS said the package would arrive on the 4th.

The Postal Service lost a package that I was expecting last summer from Astoria, NY.  The tracking number would only show that it was delivered, but I never got it.  It wound up in Jersey City, NJ.  When I tracked down the manager in New Jersey, I was told that the USPS would place a tracer on the package.  The Post Office then blamed the shipper, but I already had credible information that it was the Post Office's fault.  Needless to say, the package was lost somewhere in New Jersey and the tracer did nothing.

The year before that, I had been expecting a package of vintage NY Metropolitan TV Guides to add to my collection.  There was several hundred dollars worth of TV Guides.  However, all the precautions taken by the shipper came to naught.  The package was delivered but was empty with USPS tape all over the box.  There was a Postal Inspector notice on the box stating something to the effect that while the USPS is very sorry that the package was damaged during shipment, it was pleased to complete the delivery!

I am sorry to say, but the only reliable tracking numbers are (always) FedEx and (98% of the time) UPS.  I've had items delivered to me successfully before the Postal Service even updated the tracking number information.  From my experience, I've learned that if it's late in the day, the package may be marked as delivered even though it may not show up until the next day.

About UPS having accurate tracking numbers, how the heck did two people get the same one!  Of course the number is only tracking the one that was actually delivered.  While they sent me, at the request of the business I ordered from, an updated email it does not tell me where my package is or exactly when I might expect it.

The business will re-send the items if they don't arrive.

Well, I must be off.  My mom called, asking if I was coming over for dinner.  I said, "Sure."  So, it's dinner time!

Be back later!

Where, indeed?

We use express mail from the post office and so far have not lost a package.   Last summer I ordered something for my mom and it was delivered to someone in Kansas.  The post office did track it down, retrieve it and it was eventually delivered to my mom in Iowa.

I ordered a couple books for them this week and Fed ex took them to the wrong town.  They were contacted and the books were delivered today.  Amazon did an insert telling them their additional packages would be delivered later.   Neither they nor I have ordered anything else.   Interesting.

Yet, from what I can gather there was also a delivery intended to Arizona.  We just received the same tracking number.  It is very strange.

When I was in high school we had a reading class where we leaned a speed reading technique.  Your eyes hit two spots on a line and you went down the page.   I could read very fast with really good comprehension, but it wasn't enjoyable.  You don't really read you sort of just absorb.

Sounds like a good story.  I would be very surprised if they issued the same number to two people.

Starting "Fruitvale Station." Excellent performances, but the drama is really heavy. May have to watch the ending tomorrow.

Even my trauma books seem more inviting.

I finished the Fosse bio in the traffic this afternoon. Excellent detail of his movies and shows, both hits and misses.

I was especially interested in the author's discussion of "Star 80," a movie I've seen twice and respect, but it's so intense I had a hard time watching it. I find it even more fascinating after learning Fosse's thought process behind it, but the analysis also made me never want to see it again.

My version of speed reading is self taught and came naturally while I was engrossed in my books.

That is what they told the person who called asking where our order is.  He thought it was very strange as well.  I could have called today and he would have re-sent the order but I wanted to give UPS time to deliver it on Monday.
