Good morning, all! I will shortly head off to the orchestra reading for Encores! MOST HAPPY FELLA. This will be the first time I've heard the parts played from my edition of the score. I'm a bit excited about it.
...

DR Elmore, should Richard and I try to get tickets for that for April 2 or 3?

You're coming into town again then?  That's wonderful news, DR Ginny.

Yes, DR ChasSmith.  We'll be in Philadelphia at the end of this month for a family wedding, take the train to NYC on Sunday the 30th, and stay until April 4.

I mentioned graphic novels, and completely forgot about the Proust "Remembrance of Things Past" one by Stephane Heuet sitting on my Proust shelf.  It's a marvel of a work that's come out all too slowly, one volume at a time...not that we'd want him to hurry and not keep the quality up.

TOD:

I didn't really start to buy comic books until I was was in 5th or 6th grade, in the mid 1970s. Those that I regularly purchased were:

On occasion I would pick up a copy of THE FANTASTIC FOUR, SPIDERMAN, and a few others if The Inhumans made an appearance.

I still have all of my comic books which probably only number a couple of dozen.

Orchestra level completely unavailable for all performances, with nary a "good" seat remaining on any upper level.  And I do mean nary.

I'd sure like to think I'm seeing this wrong, maybe blame it on my browser or something!  :)

Good morning, all.

SweetTooth, I wrote about babka just this morning. It was one of the many treats I had in Atlanta.

Thrilled for you, Elmore. Hope the sound is wonderful.

Fella is a show I was too young for the first time I heard it. Now it's one of my favorite scores.

TOD: We weren't allowed to throw away money on comic books when I was a kid, but someone down the street gave me his stack of comics when he outgrew them. They were all Marvel comics, including Poseidon and the Avengers, my two favorites. Plenty of Spidermans, the Defenders and X-men in there, too.

Oh, I forgot about The Defenders! I bought them regularly, also.  And I did pick up issues of The Avengers every now and then.

Actually, I think my comic book buying spanned all of two years...1976 and 1977. I will have to check my stash this weekend, and see what all is there.

I do know that I always preferred Marvel comics over D.C. Comics. I liked their style.

I have checked out the current crop of super hero comics, and in addition to the whopping price per issue, I don't find the artwork to be as appealing to me as that from the 1970s and earlier.

Just caught up with last night's late postings. That's a truly horrible story, DR Dan. I would contact a TV station. The story of a person being robbed of money from a charity is not only horrific on its own terms, but it might also make others take a look to see if it's happened to them.
