Did a two-mile jog, had poached eggs on an English muffin, did some banking and now I'm home.  Have the air on, which I hate, but if I didn't it would be a broiler by three.  This way I'll get it down to 69 and shut it off for the stumble-through.

Next week brings some changes. Starting Tuesday, I'll be working two days a week from home. Not having to face the rush traffic twice in the same week could be too much to handle. But if I try real hard, I could get used to it.

Sounds good :)

Yum.  I intensely dislike beer, beer batter on the other hand I enjoy very much.

BK,   Did you mean me regarding Finishing the book?

If you did and you meant RED GOLD, yes I finished it several weeks ago and posted that I did and that I REALLY ENJOYED IT!

I can find no post - I've searched every way I know how, so maybe you think you posted.  I've been watching for it.  Last post I saw you were on chapter twelve.  Maybe someone else can find it?

Aha, I found it - it didn't come up searching Red Gold because you typed it REDGOLD.  Don't know how I missed it, but glad to see you liked it!  Have Kevin post an amazon review.

DR Jane that is interesting that you actually fall asleep reading.  Do you wake up the next day not remembering parts of what you read?  I like to be really alert when i read so i don't even read when i am sleepy.  I often fall asleep with the tv on but never watching a program.  I often watch programs i have recorded at night. But I stop the show as soon as i feel sleepy.

Sometimes I have to go back a page or two depending how long I was sleep-reading, something I really believe I do.  Most often, if I sleep the rest of the night without reading again, I can pick up where I left off in the morning.  I find reading a little bit in the morning jogs my memory if it is sluggish.

Well I have on my jeans, flannel shirt, and Stetson, and I am off to DWTPCS carrying my tuxedo.

I will be happy with anything except LAST place.  Pray for Rosemary's Baby.  We don't dance until the second group, so I can't even have a glass of wine until the whole damn thing is almost over!

Vibes you are pleased with your performance and you are happy with your standing!!!

I searched "Gold" to find it, but then I searched under Kate's post and not in the Search option.

Happy Saturday, all!

BK, have a great stumble through. I do wish I could make tomorrow evening. I can't tell you how I am counting the hours until this reading is over. It has not been fun for me.

Going to see INTO THE WOODS tonight at 3D Theatricals, where I did PARADE last year. They should have hired me for the Mysterious Man of the Woods, so I could play the father of the guy I played 20 years ago. Then again, It's kinda nice at my age to be told that I look too young for a role.  :D

DR ryacko I'm sorry you aren't enjoying the reading.

Thanks, DR Jane. I'll manage. It's just a difficult set of circumstances. My mother passed, then right after that, in the second week of rehearsals, the composer of this reading died unexpectedly, and the script is filled with talk about coffins and death. Just not what I need right now. It's over Monday night. I'll manage and then I'll forget about it for good.

It came to me so naturally as if it's what it always was meant to be.  Funny how that happens.

Good morning, all! I have a bit of work to accomplish this morning for Rob Berman's Trinity Church concerts, and then I will meet Bruce Pomahac for lunch before we see Inventing Mary Martin at the York Theatre.

I've got to put together this morning notes for the first of the three concerts, Jerome Kern's 1917 Princess Theatre show, Oh, Boy!. I'll give him notes on what happened in the world and the New York stage in 1917, a short thing on the Princess Theatre, how Ray Comstock, and Elizabeth Marbury became its producers, and a synopsis of the show and hw the songs fit into the plot.

I just got this new Sheldon Harnick 2-CD set assembled for his 90th birthday, and I love it!

I just ordered that and the Hugh Martin CD, as well. :)

Today will be an easy day.  If I get up early enough (and if I just want to), I'll go to work for a few hours to make up some time because of having to leave early to get to the theater.  If I don't want to, I'll stay home, watch TV and do some laundry before going to the theater tonight.

Tough choices, I know. ;)

I did not go to work today.

I am hoping to score a copy of the Prince LP....we shall see.  I just ordered the Cal Tjader CD.

Wow!  I never thought of you as a Prince fan.  Which do you prefer; "Purple Rain" or "When Doves Cry?"

BK I see you found DR Kate's post. But I think it is easier to just read HER past posts vs doing a search of a word since you do not know how she wrote it. She could have simply said she loved the book without naming it.

Today is the day....yes today is the day....

Dancing With the Putnam County Stars.....I am hoping we are somewhere in the middle of the pack rather than at the bottom of the heap....but we shall see.

I have just learned that two of the judges are CLOSE friends with one of the competitors, so I see his star rising in the East like the Sun.

Time will tell.

And I am home from Inventing Mary Martin, which I really enjoyed. I found it very funny, musically very interesting with wonderful David Krane arrangements and a nice band led by Larry Goldberg, and the cast was quite good. I'm very happy for Steve Cole and David.

I agree with you, Larry.  And since I didn't know all that much about intimate details of Mary Martin's life (I'm sure less than you know about her, of course, Larry), it held that extra fascination for me.

I really felt as it was nearing the end of the story that I would have loved to spend even more time with these performers and the way Steve Cole was telling her life story.
