Thanks DR elmore! I was thinking of you when I stumbled across the website CastAlbums.org and saw some of your discography.

Why I wound up on that site is interesting. A friend of mine sent me a bootleg of the 40th anniversary of WPIX (Channel 11 in NYC) which mentioned Eddie Lawrence, the "Old Philosopher", who I totally forgot about.

I read some online entries about him, and found out he co-wrote a show called "Kelly" with Moose Charlap, and which yielded a song that Mr. Sondheim wishes he had written.

I looked up "Kelly" and found CastAlbums.org to be a good reference.

I love castalbums.org! I keep track of most of my recordings on there...some are still in my garage, and my wish list are recording that were stolen out of my garage a few years ago. At least, the ones that I can remember that I had.

Well, now that I'm all caught up, I can leave for the theater. Tonight, we start the second weekend of "The Tempest."

And since I've gotten to work early and stayed late every day this week due to issues beyond my control, if I don't want to use vacation, I only have to work an hour and a half tomorrow!

But I might just take the vacation time.

I agree. I know that it's not the proper way to see movies, but I received an excellent bootleg copy. It's great to see F. Murray Abraham, one of my favorite character actors. A funny coincidence for me was that the same day I saw the movie, I had watched an episode of "All in the Family" which featured F. Murray Abraham as an unemployment counselor who has to deal with Archie.

I remember going to Mama Leone's once.

Food was not memorable

But the over done service was.

This was the route to being seat at the table.

The doorman opened the door.
A person directed me to the coat check
Checked my coat.
Someone pointed to a person
That person asked me how many people in my party. (I believe there were three of us)
Another person took us through the first room.
We stop before the second.
Another person asked how many. We told them
Another person took us to the table
Another person gave us the menus.
Another person filled our water glass
Another person asked us if we were ready to order (Yes we were)
Our waiter took our order. (The last time we saw him/her)
The food came served by someone else.
The check was given by another person.

And I'm not even sure we left through the door we came in.

And I don't think I'm exaggerating on the service.

But I am enjoying finally seeing Six by Sondheim this evening. I didn't have HBO when it premiered. Now, I just found that the entire documentary is on YouTube.

I have not read any Liss books. I put a hold on his first one, "A Conspiracy of Paper".

David Liss lives in San Antonio. I've enjoyed a couple of his books.

Went to the movies tonight. Saw "Snowpiercer," which was a sci-fi/adventure/action/thriller and it was largely fun, thanks to an over-the-top performance from Tilda Swinton, who looked like she was having the time of her life.

The script is largely predictable and I still didn't mind that too much.

I've now been to the movies three times recently, first time in more than a year. I find it odd that two of the three had Tilda Swinton and John Hurt in them. The other was "Only Lovers Left Alive," in which Hurt played Marlowe as a vampire.
