I remember that a highlight of my first trip to New York was a trip to Tower Records. I couldn't believe the cast album section and wanted everything in sight that I didn't have. I bought a copies of Carmelina, Ankles Aweigh, Jule Styne's One Night Stand and the Utter Glory of Morrisey Hall on that trip. I don't remember what all else. But the bag was so heavy that it made handling my luggage a problem. But not enough of a problem to continue the practice on subsequent trips.

I felt so forlorn on my first trip to New York after Tower closed. The only place where I could find recordings was Barnes & Noble. It just wasn't the same. I don't think I bought anything.

Jane, I'm sorry about your headache. I had one yesterday that was practically blinding. And I had to dance for four more hours. It was not pretty. And the dancing certainly could have been better.

Has anybody watched the new Poldark? Is it worth the time?

Went and had a Chinese chicken salad and a bagel, then finished proofing the book.  I ran two changes past the Muse and she was fine with them.  One involved restructuring the order of paragraphs on one page to make things smoother and clearer (and I rewrote on line, too) and the other involved a small addition of a new sentence.  I'm really happy with this book - at this point I don't even remember writing it - it's just a book I'm reading now.  It made me laugh and as Muse Margaret said, it is ultimately touching, something I wasn't planning on at all.

Yesterday's TOD:

I think Walt Disney was the one producer as a kid that I knew by name. When I started getting more interested in movies, Samuel Goldwyn was a name that meant a lot. And of course, Arthur Freed for his musicals.

But the producer I was more interested in was record producer Goddard Lieberson.

I feel worse for you John.  Mine wasn't blinding and was home, not out dancing though that might have helped it.  I get mild migraines and am always grateful they are only mild.  I know when it is a migraine as I am also a tad nauseated.

A few minutes into watching BROOKLYN I realized I had read the book in 2009.  I just forgot the name of it ;D

I'm glad I didn't begin reading it before watching the movie.

I spent many, many hours (and dollars) in the two NYC Tower locations over the years.

This was a sinus headache that seemed to take over the right half of my head.

I was glad that the headache didn't come on until after I had finished dancing the stuff that I'm more interested in.

That was fun to watch...of course, there's no way in HELL that I would even attempt something like that...even legally. ::)
