Heigh-Ho!

Just wanted to check in and let you all know I'm not drifting away.

Have been very sick with bronchitis the past week.  Did my rounds of doctors and emergency room all day Monday.  They got me feeling better but did not actually prepare me for living the rest of my life without "oxygen" (they kind they give you to make you feel better) to back me up.

This bronchitis strain is infectious.  It causes my lungs to swell.  I am on antibiotics AND prednisone, the latter to relax my lungs and allow air to flow.   When it's actually working, I feel pretty well, but when it wears off, I'm struggling...almost to the point of hyperventilation.

This, according to my doctor, is a result of the infection which the antibiotic will cure, he says.

Meantime...I sleep sitting up in my chair.  It takes me a while to regulate my breathing when I'm on my feet.  It takes the prednisone about an hour or so to "kick in".  When it does, I'm practically normal again.

That's what's been going on with me.  It's a survival-mode, insular existence.   Right now, I'm floating on prednisone tranquility and am at work.  Planning on being here another hour and 15 minutes, then it's back to home.

This adds a new meaning to your quote.  I have had bronchitis too many time, never like that.  Once croup took my breath away and scared the heck out of me.  Reading this made my heart skip.  Be well and...

I am home.  Joshie and I went through the "Small House of Uncle Thomas" and he's done a lovely job of it.  He has two things going for him: he's very smart and he;s very good.

My doctor thinks it's time for another hip injection, so that needs pursuing.

The bus wait today at 57th Street was 35 minutes.  Then three damned No. 7 buses all showed up.  The only think worse than the wait was the Trump supporter telling others waiting for the bus how the problem with NYC was illegal immigrants and how Trump would save us.  I wanted to throw her under the next arriving bus.

Okay, let's just stop this malarky - really, page two?  No posts in almost an hour and if not for me, two hours?  I'd suggest we get us some postin' goin' on right about now.

Larry, does the Universe have something against compliments and getting credit for a job well done? It would seem so. A lovely mega compliment, made publicly, and then a bus accident. I'm glad you were able to walk away from the accident, but sorry to hear that it occurred at all.

Yesterday I saw a new chiropractor, one who does ART. He's a little younger than I prefer, but seems to know what he's doing. He understood completely when I described the problems and was able to confirm what I'd told him. It wasn't at all like a typical chiropractic adjustment; it was like some osteopathic manipulation I've had. He explained that ART is about pressure (like deep massage) plus stretching. It wasn't nearly as painful as the Thai Torture. There is discomfort, but he tries to adjust it according to the patient's pain tolerance.

I woke up REALLY sore today, and quite tired. The soreness will dissipate, then we'll see if we've made any progress. I expect to need multiple treatments.
