Heigh-Ho!
Just wanted to check in and let you all know I'm not drifting away.
Have been very sick with bronchitis the past week. Did my rounds of doctors and emergency room all day Monday. They got me feeling better but did not actually prepare me for living the rest of my life without "oxygen" (they kind they give you to make you feel better) to back me up.
This bronchitis strain is infectious. It causes my lungs to swell. I am on antibiotics AND prednisone, the latter to relax my lungs and allow air to flow. When it's actually working, I feel pretty well, but when it wears off, I'm struggling...almost to the point of hyperventilation.
This, according to my doctor, is a result of the infection which the antibiotic will cure, he says.
Meantime...I sleep sitting up in my chair. It takes me a while to regulate my breathing when I'm on my feet. It takes the prednisone about an hour or so to "kick in". When it does, I'm practically normal again.
That's what's been going on with me. It's a survival-mode, insular existence. Right now, I'm floating on prednisone tranquility and am at work. Planning on being here another hour and 15 minutes, then it's back to home.
