I'm sorry about your friend, DR elmore.

I wish someone would tell us if he is dead or not.  It's ridiculous.

I went two days without shaving so I could have my first Braun shave.  With my old Norelco, it would take forever to even get a semblance of a shave but never even approaching close, which is why I'd do a once-over with the Norelco and finish off with a razor.  So, how did we do?  Brilliantly.  This thing is fast, efficient, and I was actually shocked by how close the shave is.  It's easy to use, it has a cleaning station that completely cleans everything and dries the shaver (it's waterproof and you can actually use this with shaving cream, although I didn't - but you can shave in the shower, too, which is nice).  It didn't irritate my skin and I could not be happier and hopefully it will last the ten years that the Norelco lasted.  And it looks great, too.

Listening to Mr. Shostakovich - I'd had a set of the symphonies and just didn't care for it at all, but I figured that was due to the conductor and sound.  So I had my Stokowski conducted symphonies - he did the 6th and 11th and they're great.  And I'd gotten the newer Andris Nelsons cycle - but there are only two CDs - he's done the 5th, 8th, 9th, and 10th thus far and those are superb recordings and performances.  But I wanted a complete set so I researched and found one conducted by Rudolph Barshai and took a chance on it, since its eleven CD set cost less than twenty-five bucks.  I've heard the first five and they're really good and sound great, too.

A couple of days ago, I got an "Official Jury Summons [for] Thurston County."  I just responded online to the summons.  There's an 18 minute video that I'll have to watch when I get home, though.  We'll see if I get selected or not.

Even though we have the option to "RESCHEDULE to another date" (I actually did that the last time I got a summons), the week that has been selected for me works out.  Nothing is scheduled, there are no important work events, and rehearsals don't start till two weeks after that.

I had to conduct a closing this evening at someone's home.  This was a particularly long and involved file, not because if any fault of the clients  but because of a uncooperative person who took 7 weeks (Seven !)To perform a task that literally took 5 minutes (FIVE minutes!) It took daily phone calls  and emails to get this inconsiderate so and so to do her job.  For which she is being paid $675.... for  5 minutes work that required filling in some names and dates In the blanks on a preprinted form,

The clients were very appreciative of the work I did on their behalf and surprised me by presenting me with an edible arrangement at the end of the closing

Forty years ago, I went to my first stadium concert. Eddie Money was middle of the bill. (Ted Nugent was the headliner.) Listening to Eddie Money now as part of Fiesta Oyster Bake. Fun. Still love Two Tickets to Paradise and Baby, Hold on to Me.
