Monday afternoon greetings!  I was outta here by 8:30 this morning to do errands and have a nice long coffee visit at Starbucks with Becky.  Then, more errands and a visit with Mom.  Home now and glad to be back in the air conditioning.

TOD - I remember not liking school lunches at all.  They served stewed tomatoes in paper cups that were so disgusting I cannot to this day eat most cooked tomatoes  :P

Another nice review for Dial M.  The one interesting thing about directing a show like this, which is deceptively and really HARD to get right, which is why they're enjoying the show, is that no one has a clew it's directed well because they don't have any idea what it takes to pace a show like this, get the performances right and on the same page, and to keep the flow going - smart people do, but the people who write for these websites are, well, I don't know what they are.  This site is one I've never heard of before, but I do like the amusement of trying to seem like a real LA newspaper.

"Post-Examiner" -- haha!

But a good review is a good review, even when it doesn't actually say much.  Continued congrats to BK and company!

Ginny, I have often used that line myself.  i also remember once rather indignantly (and possibly heretically) telling the Pastor that unless Jesus was prepared to whip out another miracle a la the loaves and fishes he should have thanked Martha for doing all the work preparing dinner instead of chastising her for not listening

That's kind of what I told Richard that holiday season.  The cookies don't bake themselves and the elves hadn't yet shown up to wrap the presents.

DRs Ginny and Vixmom, I tell people my take-away from the Martha story is that even Martha needs the opportunity to take a break sometimes. Why didn't the men -- who had heard the teachings many times -- get up and do some of the work?

Preach it, DR Laura!

Back from a Philly cheesesteak sandwich and a side Caesar salad - everything was good today so the good chef must be back with us.

Probably because they were men and they were telling the stories. ::)

The truck and trailer are Hank and Darlene.

What...no Shirley to go along with Laverne?

Is that right? Two dirt roads' worth? Or should it be two dirt roads worth?

I believe the former is correct

One of the four signers of the Sharkansas booklet is coming tonight to do hers.  Not what I'd intended for my evening, but hopefully I can get her in and out in about forty-five minutes.

Is this a terrible terrible song....and is the dancing too contemporary for the time period....and does EVERYONE have to style and profile when they sing?

Or is it just me?

Coming in December -

TOD

To the best of my knowledge I never bought lunch at school, always brown bagged it,  thought I did buy those little containers of milk.  I think they were 3 cents in elementary a nickel in Jr. High and by high school , they were a dime

Are there any Grisham fans here?  I just finished reading Camino Island.  What a waste of my time.

I'm watching a few episodes of SONS OF FREEDOM - which must be a season or two old.....nice to see the founding fathers as just plain folks who got fed up with what was happening....and did something about it....

Henry Thomas is John Adams and he's pretty good.
