This fan needed the base snapped together (3 parts) the pole put together (3parts). The back of the made cage put on the motor stem, Then the blade put on the motor stem which then had to be secured with the screw on cover (that's where I failed ) then the front of the cage secured to the rear part. The whole thing was without use of tools and would have taken 10 minute tops if not for the secret left hand screw trick

Jeanne that inspection schedule seems excessive and intrusive. My understanding has always been that a landlord can enter if necessary to effect repairs or if an emergency is suspected... Water leak, fire, electrical issue etc. but otherwise cannot enter without both notice and permission but my expertise is not in landlord tenant law , not even in NY ... I have no idea what California law allows

Vixmom, I did not know about left-handed screws and I do lots of handyman type stuff. In fact, just a few months ago I took apart my portable fan to clean it. I was hoping the grill just unscrewed and could be washed under the faucet. No such luck, but I don't recall anything out of the ordinary. My usual problem is not having the physical strength to turn something that's on tightly.

Here is what I've just learned: Apparently Tuesday night at nine-fifteen is THE time when the entitled of Studio City put gas in their big entitled moron cars. I expected to find an empty gas station like my gas tank. Empty it wasn't - full it was, like my gas tank when I left. Part of me always wants to just start yelling at these people. But I don't, Blanche, I just don't.
