We went to see mother! I found it trite, funny and well acted. My friends loathed it. I wouldn't recommend it.

My friend Margo and I are going to the movies after my family dinner tonight and that was one consideration.  I was reading about it (a very positive review) and I still wasn't interested in seeing it.  We're going to see "American Made."

Well, here's how Annabelle and I met.

I went down to the Best Friends Adoption where they were having the 2-day adoption for $20.cat or kitten.  I wanted to get two kittens or a young adult cat.  It took me an hour to get there by subway because of construction, and when I got there, the nice young ladies working there told me they have all the young cats away yesterday.  They were great, and gave me a list of events today where cats were up for adoption.  The closest was at Union Square, so I taxied up there, and at noon I found the K9Kastle truck.  The first cat I saw was 2 year-old Kelly, and then I saw Annabelle, who was riht yp front of her cage, begging for attention, and we bonded at once.  Within a minute I said, I want her.

Because of the number of people attending and asking questions, it took me two hours between filling out the application and signing a contract.  My references praised me, and Annabelle was mine for $20!  I had to buy a carrier because I did not bring mine with me.  The Best Friends adoption said that cardboard carriers would be provided, and then I didn't adopt a cat there.

There were an adorable 6-month old pair of siblings, the black tuxiedoed Aurora and her orange tabby brother Denver.  If I'd seen them first, they might be here now, but Annabelle and I have bonded.

After we finished with the garden thing, Wae-Ling and I stopped by a new fried chicken place that just opened. Tomorrow I will walk 20,000 steps.

I don't have a camera, so I will see if Val or Joshie can take a photo this week.

It was Bush's Fried Chicken -- a newcomer in the fried chicken industry here.

What does Annabelle look like? Was that her name at K9Kastle? I couldn't find her there. They must have taken her photo down already.

She's mostly gray striped, but her tail is mostly black.  She has large green eyes.

She sounds lovely! I'm so pleased.

I'm also very impressed at all the work Larry went through to cat-proof his apartment.

Every year about this time I get into the mood to throw more out. I have a lot on my plate and not much free time, but I would like to tackle some of it. I have two kitchen cabinets that really could use a good clean-out. It means getting down on my hands and knees to do one of them, but if I free up some space it'd be worth it. We'll see.
