After the movie, I went to Barnes & Noble, where I picked up a couple more Criterion titles, including Gimme Shelter and Bergman's The Magician.

There's a Half Price Books in the same plaza and I had another 40% off coupon, so I dropped by where I found a few more Criterion titles at stupidly low prices. I grabbed them, including an unopened copy of Godard's musical, A Woman is a Woman.

I think I may take a couple of day's off over the holidays and do just that.

Watching a rather shocking film from early 1960s England called Sapphire, about a murder and race relations. The finale is so ugly that it's like a punch in the gut.

Back from a long and trying day.  Lighting Man was simply not ready and so when I arrived at eight-thirty because that's when I was called to see cues, he informed me it was tech time and that I'd see no cues.  I could have slept another hour or more.  And he was pissy about it until I quickly shut that crap down.  So I went and had breakfast across the street.

Actors arrived at eleven and it took almost an hour to get them all in mics and do sound check - obviously that was a one-off deal.  So we didn't begin the cue-to-cue until noon or a bit after and of course he'd programmed not one light cue and was doing it on the fly.  And the cyc lights aren't there yet, the moving lights in front aren't working - it was a MESS.  I think it will look good, but by the time we got to the meal break we had barely gotten to the end of act one.  We came back, did just two scenes cue-to-cue in act two and then the stage manager, knowing how the rest of the day would go, just called the run-through for right then and the lighting man could write as we ran, which is what happened.  The show ran pretty smoothly for how rough the lights were, but sound is sounding fantastic so that's something I need not worry about.  We finished the run at seven and we held the notes for Monday.  I got out of there around 7:30 and went right to the new house, unpacked all books (save for the box that's somewhere in the garage) except the final "W" box.  Then I stopped at Gelson's, got some junk to eat, and came home.  I packed up a box o' stuff from the curio cabinet, so that's empty now, and now I'll get the pots and pans ready.

Jane, I think the gradual introductions can be done with the two rooms. What I understood from the story is that as soon as Elmore opens the bathroom door, one of them races in or races out. So, if he took the one who's already out, and but him/her in a crate first, then they couldn't come in contact and couldn't get into a fight. I think if he kept them separated, but still able to smell and see each other for a couple weeks, they might learn to accept each other.

DR Elmore what do you think of this?

I was supposed to go for breakfast with my friend, Betzy today.  But due to several reasons, it never came to pass.

We are certainly getting a lot of Christmas-themed TV commercials.
