Joey,    GOOD MRI VIBES!!

RLP-feel better soon

Vixmom I just read your embarrassing story-LOL.  Of course it was the loud person who should be embarrassed.

I went with a friend to see Baryshnikov perform and had been fortunate to get front row seats.  When he first appeared on the stage my friend leaned over to me and in a very loud voice said “he looks so old”.  I was sure he could hear. :-[

...I had to polish shoes this morning and spray vodka on the girls' costumes....
The first can be done with a spit shine...but I'm not sure the second job is best handled with a spit take!

Question of the day:

For anyone who has ever performed on stage.

What was the most embarassing or strangest thing that ever happened to you while performing in front of an audience?

The most embarassing thing was going up on my lines during my very first speech as Northumberland in Henry IV Part One.  I blurted out my first few lines and then went completely blank.  I stood completely still and started to flop sweat big time.  In desperation, I leaned towards our Henry IV with my hand outstretched, hoping he woud help me recover.  He responded by leaning in and giving me a small shrug.  Thankfully, just before I was about to call out "Line!", the stage manager hissed out enough of my speech that it all came roaring back to me and I was able to continue.  Oy, what a bad night that was!

Nope, no CANDIDE for me. I was too busy reveling in LOST, ALIAS, and LAW & ORDER.

No time to watch BUTLEY today, so I stuck in a STAR TREK episode from the third season.

We will spend tomorrow ladsitting.

We will spend Friday ladsitting.

We will spend Monday ladsitting.

We will spend Tuesday ladsitting.

Maybe I should get a daycare licence.

In answer to my own question (and about time, too)...

Nope, never been to a Hooters.  We have one here in Rehoboth Beach, but we just don't have any reason to go in.  For one thing, there's a bar/restaurant right across the street called the Frog Pond which has the rep for the best wings in town.  Why settle for second best?

Good Evening!

Wow! is it foggy here in the DC area right.  We're talking zero visibility fog!  At the most, 20 feet.  I even had to "think" while driving home from the theatre earlier if I had passed the intersection I turn to get to my parents' house.  Everything is just covered in fog - almost impossible to see the familiar landmarks along the road.  In any case...

It's foggy here.

Actually, one of the guys in the show, Stephen Zinatto, pulled me aside outside the greenroom, grabbed my hand, and said, "Congratulations!".  I just looked back at him very confused.  "The peanut butter cookies!  You are blessed."

Oops.. It's Stephen Zinnato and not Zinatto or even Zinnatto... Hmm.. I may have to ask him about that.  A single "t" is sort of rare in Italian surnames.  -I think.

Never been to Hooters.

I've already recounted on previous occasions my two most embarrassing stage disasters. To recap:
1. Falling off the stage during opening night of THE DYBBK at the National Arts Center in Ottawa. (And uttering a profanity that was not used in 19th century Poland.)
2. Holding onto an audience member and whispering, "Move, Victor!" as I was making an exit in a blackout at the Factory Theater Lab in Toronto. (I thought he was the actor leading me off-stage at audience level.)
The obvious contributing factor to both these mishaps is that my pupils don't expand as they're supposed to when it goes from light to darkness. Consequently, I'm almost BLIND in the dark - or when it suddenly gets dark at any rate.  8)

I'm back from a little trip in my motor car.  I can only tell you that at eight-thirty in the evening the traffic was worse than today, if such a thing is possible.

I just realized that I forgot to sign off and HHW was in the bg as I was writing. I'm STILL writing. I took a grocery shopping (DD returns tomorrow - must get some food in the house) and hot chocolate break earlier. With my hot chocolate I had the worst scone I've ever tasted - left most of it. Not at Peets, not multi-grain. This thing they called a scone was so sweet I almost vomited on the ground.

Scones need only to be made of flour and milk. No sugar or butter is necessary. I am talking here of ENGLISH scones. Very simple to make.

Having sweetness in a scone is just not on. Add cream and jam for sweetness later or just butter. Real butter!

Slow is right.  Two hours and three posts.  It's enough to make you want to throttle someone.
