I've done a lot of signings and a couple have been as elmore described save for the fact that I've always sold at least one book.  But I remember being in a Barnes and Noble when Harlan Ellison was doing a signing - I didn't know he was going to be there, and he sold not one book nor did anyone stop by to talk to him.

That is shocking.

Back from chicken tenders (TEENY) and a side Caesar salad with so much dressing I had to send it back - those who know me know I'm all about the dressing, but this I couldn't even see the lettuce.

That reminds me of a funny quote that someone posted on a tumblr account that I follow:

"Salad Dressing" sounds a lot more elegant than "Lettuce Sauce".

;D

I am so goddamned pissed.  I started running water for a bath, Randy called me about an offer on the property,  we started talking, and I flooded the bathroom again.  Val's angry, the neighbors below me are unhappy, I have a mess on my hands, and I am ready to kill.

Wait, what, an offer on the property?

I agree.

I left my new sandals in Ann Arbor.  They will mail them to me, at what cost I won't know until the charge goes through.

Well, I must be off.  I'm going to meet with my friend Margo to see the filmed-on-Broadway production of Bandstand at the movie theater!  I like the cast recording.  We'll see if I like the actual show.

Be back later.

Well, I'm home after seeing Bandstand and a late dinner at Applebee's.

My friend Margo and I both loved Bandstand!  Yes, the music is anachronistic, but I think it's very good...and there's a LOT of it in this show.  And a lot of dancing.  I know not everyone loved the choreography that was on the Tony Awards last year, but in the show it's very good and a lot more historically accurate than what I saw yesterday. ::)

There were no gymnastics, and it most of it looked like it could be from the 1940s.  Some of the transitions were more modern, but the song dances were great.

I thought it had a really good story.  Very touching and nothing where I went "huh?"

All the performers were great.  Corey Cott and Laura Osnes have great voices (and Corey has a very sexy hairy chest ;D ).

And all the guys in the band really played their own instruments.  That's pretty cool!  They were all good!

Beth Leavel played Laura Osnes' mother and was really good, too.

And before the show, they announced that the Cumberbatch/Miller versions of FRANKENSTEIN are coming back to the movie theaters again!  Can't wait for that!

Bandstand is playing again on Thursday.  I'm seriously thinking about seeing it again.
