Going to the clinic is not possible right now since my car is not here.

I didn't use peroxide or rubbing alcohol. I cleaned it with soap and water and put an antibiotic cream.

I will show it to some people in a couple of hours and see what they think.

DR Jose, actually I was cutting a piece of cheese and i guess i just didn't notice that my pinkie had lodged itself under the knife.  Not too exciting. :(

Thanks for the advice DR Jane and others.

Well, geez....take a picture of it and show it to us, too.

I have a fair bunch of DVDs on pre-order w/Amazon.com.

Two of them were released Tuesday, and both had been ordered for 2nd day delivery.  But as of yesterday, I had received no word from Amazon that they'd been shipped, and when I viewed my account, they were still listed as pre-orders.

I sent off a little nastygram asking what was up and the said, "Shucks, Puddin', we plumb forgot!"

Well, not exactly that.  They blamed it on a technical glitch and said they'd do their best to get the DVDs to me asap.

In today's mail I received the fourth season of "Oz", fulfilling one of the pre-orders.  The shipping charge was standard mail pricing, but they expressed it (and, yes, I think that was the LEAST they could have done).

The other DVD is still listed as being "processed" for shipment...it's the fourth season of "Frasier" and the one I'm most anxious to get my hands on as that season had some of the best shows in the entire series.

I have the complete third season of "Soap" to view, as well.  It arrived last week.

I'm getting WAY behind on my  TV series DVD viewings.

Ron, I’m thinking of making your corn bread recipe to serve to company tomorrow.  Should I make it tonight, tomorrow morning, or just before serving?

Make a batch tonight for the practice...and then make a batch that you can take right out of the oven so it's hot and so butter melts upon contact.

(This way, you'll have extra cornbread if you run out tomorrow, and then you can just reheat it and your guests won't really know).

This Doris Day boxed set of DVDs that's coming up later this year. OK, we know LOVE ME OR LEAVE ME and BILLY ROSE'S JUMBO are included. They've already been announced as coming this year. What else did she do at MGM that will be in this set?

PLEASE DON'T EAT THE DAISIES
THE GLASS BOTTOMED BOAT
WHERE WERE YOU WHEN THE LIGHTS WENT OUT?

Any more (I guess they could also do a lot of her Warner films since she was under contract to them during her first 7 years in Hollywood)?

(I just saw IT HAPPENED TO JANE advertised in the Critic's Choice catalog.)

Not sure if anyone reported this yet, but I just saw the actor-writer-activist Ossie Davis passed away today at the age of 87 here in South Florida

Now that I think about it, I think I did read that YOUNG MAN WITH A HORN was being released this year, and she's third billed in that. I'll bet that's one of them.

http://www.donogh.com/cooking/holiday/poppycoc.shtml

"Poppycock is easy and fun to make. Pack in fancy tins to give as a nice gift. You can use whatever nuts you like (or even none if you don't like nuts). You can also make Hawaiian poppycock by adding pineapple chunks (well drained) with the nuts.

Ingredients:
2 cups brown sugar
1 cup butter
1/2 cup corn syrup
1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
16 cups popped popcorn
Nuts as desired

Directions:
Mix brown sugar, butter and corn syrup together in a saucepan. Heat to boiling and boil for 5 minutes.

Remove from head and add cream of tartar and baking soda. It will foam up.

Put the popcorn and nuts on a cookie sheet. Pour the sugar mixture over.

Bake at 300 degrees F. for about 20 minutes, stirring once.

Remove from the oven, cool, and break apart."

DR RON and anyone else interested.  The photos from New York's Fashion Week featuring the winners of Project Runway are at the link.

Don't look if you don't want to know.  I am horrified!  :P

I'm not sure I understand what it is you saw that horrified you.  I saw the four finalists, as were left standing at the end of Wednesday's show...Jay, Austin, Wendy and Kara.

All of them are pictured at Project Runway.  I found nothing about a winner (singular).  Can you clue me????

Ron thanks and it will just be four of us.  I think one batch should be enough.  I just noticed your recipe doesn't mention what size pan.   Also what is your oil of preference?

I use an iron skillet...12-inch.  I put the skillet with a bit of oil in the oven while pre-heating.

When the oven is F 350, I pick up pan (using oven mitts) and slowly swirl canola oil around to coat bottom and sides of pan.  I then pour batter into pan and close oven door.  I use canola oil for all cooking that involves baking in oven or frying at high temps.  I use olive oil for remainder of things I cook

When it's done, the cornbread will be separated from the side of the pan...and it should slide right out.

Just read that the HAPPY DAYS reunion special last night was a big, big ratings hit. So, I suspect we'll be getting LAVERNE & SHIRLEY, WHAT'S HAPPENIN', and other ABC sitcoms being given the tribute treatment in time for May sweeps.

Didn't they do a WELCOME BACK, KOTTER already?

I agree.  I don’t really know what Project Runway is, but some of the outfits were lovely.  There is the one see-through top, but take the bow off and add an appropriate undergarment, and I think it’s very pretty.
