JRand, I do still have many LPs and a few 45s. Most I have had transferred to CD...still it would be nice to havea phonograph and I have come across some nifty that would look cool in my house...if only I had the room!

I saw THE AGONY AND THE ECSTACY at age 15, and it rather bored me so I have never watched it again. But bk's description makes me eager to give it another try. It may resonate more with me now than it did then.

I have finally found the perfect time to dive into LORD OF THE RINGS: THE RETURN OF THE KING, Extended Edition:

Super Bowl Sunday!

Since I don't give two figs for the game, this will be the perfect opportunity to settle in and be able to watch it all. Can't wait!

After our dreadful weather yesterday, it's proving to be a glorious day here today (highs in the 50s) and even a brighter, warmer day tomorrow with highs in the 60s. I will be able to go to my favorite Chinese buffet for the first time in weeks tomorrow!

This is shaping up to be one swell weekend!

Charles Pogue I do enjoy my AARP, even ordering before I turned 50 (only since I saw a special through Publisher’s Clearing House).  It just wasn’t worth a special trip to pick it up.   ;D

This morning we had a magnificent sunrise-sorry no photos.  I kept thinking it will be gone before I get the camera.  I watched it for over half an hour.

Jennifer I hope by now you have taken care of your finger.  Is it okay?

MattH, we usually go to my business manager's house for the Super Bowl, but he is actually going to the game this year...so that won't be happening.  Like you, I could care less about the game...but there is always great food and lots of entertaining folk there, so I can spend three splendid hours and never watch a minute of the game.  One year, Jane Krakowski showed up as someone's date.

No, it's not, but thanks for asking.  I am typing with one hand.

I was online looking for remedies.  They suggested putting water on it and pressure.

I've never done anything like this before.  It's not bad enough to go to the hospital (i don't think).    but it is still bleeding & it still hurts.

Sad to report that great actor and activist Ossie Davis has died.

Here's a short article/obit.

Oh, wow, no I have not seen that. I will check it out next time I go to the barbershop as they always have the new issue.

In my CD player at work:  The Woman in White.  I'm waiting until I have listened to it all the way through (twice) before forming an opinion.

In anything else:  nothing.  I have a 4-line part in a local show that tomorrow, has two performances only.  It's the annual Sweet Adelines/Puget Sounders Barbershop Chorus show called "Evening of Harmony."  We had a rehearsal last night and final dress today.  Otherwise, I only had three other rehearsals.  Tomorrow will be the only performances.

As for the superbowl, I have no interest in it.  My housemate is inviting some friends of his (including his "ladyfriend") and they will watch the game.  Me?  I'll probably go to the movies...or go somewhere...or just watch TV in my bedroom.  We'll see. :)

My unprofessional advice: wet clean washcloth, hold it around the finger somewhat tightly with your other hand. Make sure the bleeding hand is elevated. If bleeding continues, get thee to the ER.

(If there is a piece of finger off, put it in a plastic bag, no ice, and get to ER now. They can maybe sew it on).

No, not passed out.  Just not sure what to do.  I stayed online trying to look up some tips.

Sorry if this grosses anyone out.  It's a very small chunk. but it still hurts.  And i feel very stupid for being so careless.

Ewwww :)

Thankfully it's not a piece that would be needed to be sewn on. If it was that big I would definitely have gone to the hospital.

Thanks for your tips.  Hand is elevated and wrapped tightly.

I'm up, I'm up.  I have been having difficulty falling asleep at night because my brain is alive with the sound of music and it's hard for me to shut it down.

Jennifer, if it's that deep a cut you need to have a doctor look at it immediately.

This might sound dumb, but how does one know if it's deep enough to see doctor?  I don't think it is & it has stopped bleeding.

If a piece of your finger is hanging away from the rest of your finger, see a doctor.  If it's just a cut and it's stopped bleeding, bandage it up.

I totally agree.

It should be a "shower room full of Playmates" if the phrase is to make any sense at all.

We're still trying to puzzle out whether a Friday reading/signing is worthwhile.  So far I think only four people said they could be there.  The next issue is - IF we do it, what would the best time be?  We can have anytime between 1 and 7, and I'm thinking from 5 to 7 would be good - plenty of time for people to get to the theater afterwards, and late enough in the day for working people to be finished.  What say all of you?  I'm going to need to commit to this by Monday.
