Jrand, can you please cut and paste your review into the hardcover version - everyone, please, if leaving a review do NOT leave it on the Kindle version - it's not linking to the hard and softcover.

I had a relatively light week. I took a Mental Health Day on Wednesday, which I needed and enjoyed. I also have been playing catch-up with many things, one of which is the accumulation of paper. I swear I don't know how it piles up so quickly! Every time I start culling I discover that there's more that's piled up than I was even aware of. Oy! Double oy! It goes slowly, but I'm chipping away at it.

DR Chas, I always enjoy your theatre photos. But having the orchestra in another room just doesn't sit right with me. I realize needs must, but how do you feel about it?

TOD:

I'll probably watch the next episode of UNFORGOTTEN on PBS. I enjoy the series and have been looking forward to the new season.

I've been rereading Rosamunde Pilcher's WINTER SOLSTICE. I loved it when I read it many years ago, and I've loved reading it again. I've only a few pages left and really don't want it to end.

Vixmom, will there be any photos of your new dress? Or did I miss them?

There was that fun line from the MTM Show.

Mary:  Is that a new dress, Georgette?
Georgette: Pretty new. I bought it this afternoon.

vixmim, do you recall?  When we saw Jose at "Lestat," do I recall right that the reason he met us at intermission where he did was because part of the orchestra was playing from another floor in the office building above the Palace Theatre?

Or was that another time with Jose?

I think if I linked the whole Borowitz article, it might be political because of some of the Sarah Huckabee Sanders jokes -

but Borowitz's  title sounds  non-political but still so funny (it could apply to what either party at times does):  "Mueller Report Halted as Barr Passes Out from Sharpie Fumes."

When did "And one for Mahler" stop being an HHW catchphrase?  Did we retire it in honor of Stritch's passing or retirement or anything like that?

This is a version of Stritch doing "Ladies Who Lunch" I came across when Googling.

And now, I'm off to usher for a college production of Equivocation.  I've never seen it, but I know several actors in it.  I'd heard that it's good, and the actors are good, so that's all good. ;)

Be back later.

I'm not giving up on Leonard. I just hope in a year or so when he is grown up that he decides he loves me.

Keith attempted to put the review on the book and it only accepted it on Kindle.  It might be because he has a Kindle account and didn't purchase the book from Amazon.

I'm listening to a lot of Phillippe Sarde film music - very soothing.

Well, it was a weird Friday right up until the show, then it turned out to be the best Friday show many of us could recall.

These weekend-only productions tend to suffer on Friday, and the blame shifts easily between cast/crew and audience. This was a good one, and we'll take it.

DR Jeanne, let there be no mistake:

I don't approve for one minute a remote orchestra, and I regret that they moved in that direction for this show rather than find a way to accommodate it in the house or backstage as they always have in the past. I truly believe many people think that going this convoluted technical route is Progress.

I've also gotten feedback from two trusted musician friends on two different nights, who, in so many words, said:  It's very well balanced. You can hear everything. And there's no "presence". No dynamics. Not only no dynamics, but even if you accepted a "leveled" feed like this apparently is, you really need the volume higher on everything.

DR Jrand68, I did exactly what BK is suggesting re copying and pasting the review onto the hardcover page. It was not only accepted, there was no waiting period. It went through in, like, a minute.
