I ushered for the symphony tonight. Fun concert with a Spanish theme, though the music wasn't entirely Spanish in origin. There was the Carmen Suite, Bernstein's Mambo with the audience yelling out Mambo! on cue, and Bernstein's Dance Variations from Fancy Free as well as Rimsky-Korsakov's Capriccio espagnol and El amor brujo from Falla.

The audience had a good time. I think Fiesta fever is in the air.

It was a good antidote to the work day, which was rather overwhelming.

My work wife is still out until July. The woman who took over the writing portion of her job left today for two weeks of vacation. Meanwhile, I have one project that has been ramped up and ramped up again to the point that all of us working on it from the lower levels are spinning while the upper folks are not responding to our series of questions. Typical, right?

We'll survive and be stronger for it.

Since I only had a salami sandwich and an ounce of pasta for lunch, I made myself the remaining hamburger - it was good, but very filling.

Watching the extras on the Harold Lloyd/Kid Brother disc, and there are many.

One is a 1962 interview with Lloyd in his fabled home, Greenacres, which had a permanent ginormous Christmas tree in it made of oversized ornaments. It's rather fabulous.

There are also two shorts that are really fun.
