THE TITLE OF THE NOTES IS

Well, you've read the notes, you've titled the notes, the notes have titled you, and now it is time for you to post until the titled cows (Lord and Lady Cow) come home.

Well, I just got home from an infinite subway ride back from the East Village where I was having a couple brews with a boyhood pal. I stopped by Footlight Records and didn't have nearly enough time to really dig in, but I purchased a SHOCK TREATMENT soundtrack and a HIGH TIME soundtrack by Henry Mancini since it had been on the mind of late. Really minimalistic album cover on the latter. They are having a sale right now and the whole purchase ran me $3.28 or so.

The soundtrack I am seeking but cannot find is from a rare film called THE PEOPLE NEXT DOOR. Somebody had streamed this on the web a couple months back and the songs were quite enjoyable in an early 70s kind of way.

There is an out-of-print CD entitled The Music of Bruce Kimmel on Colossus Records, which was a subsidiary of Varese Sarabande.  It had the complete Nudie soundtrack, along with all the songs from The Creature Wasn't Nice (aka Spaceship, aka Naked Space), songs from various segments of the cable series Likely Stories, plus some newly-written (at the time) songs.

Let's have some titles for the notes.  You can't win a sparkling prize if you don't submit a title.

I love the SHOCK TREATMENT soundtrack.

I think these should be the HYPNOTIC EVIL EYE NOTES!

BLATHER: coming from an old Norse word.  It can be used as either a verb, meaning to talk foolishly at length, or as a noun, referring to what is said (or written) by the person who is blathering.

The person who is blathering, incidentally, is called a BLATHERSKITE.  I personally haven't heard this word used, however, although I have heard them called BLATHERING IDIOTS, which means the same thing.  Since I don't care for name-calling, I'll just let these last two terms slip by.   :P

Let's not use the word "blather" as today's title.  The associations would be unfortunate, rude, and besides, the notes today were far too short to qualify.

That doesn't read too well.   :-\

I believe I just qualified as a blatherskite.

I've also heard "blithering idiot".

And seen the classic film BLATHERING HEIGHTS.

I kinda miss Debbie Allen's attempts at choreography for the Best Costuming Oscars.  I specifically recall one year where she had everyone dancing in costumes from the films nominated, and one of the films was a war drama, either WWII or Nam.  Since this was all being linked together with a disco beat, the results were laughable.

Well, the Rob Lowe thing was the first thing that came to my mind. But honestly, I really detested when Billy Crystal called out to Bill Murray last year after he didn't win the award. Besides calling attention to someone who probably didn't want it at that moment, the implication was that the winner was not the popular choice, and that Murray was more worthy of consolation than anyone else who did not win.

I'd ask "Who's Bill Murray  ;D," but lately there have been a few DRs who find it necessary to explain my jokes.  It kind of spoils the effect.   :-\

Score one for the East Coast! Three of us here while all is quiet on the western front. That's at 4:15 est.

Alas, I am now in near-collapse mode.

I leave with a lyric for anyone to guess from what song it comes:

"Summer was a-comin' in but fast."

Goodly night to all!
