BLATHER: coming from an old Norse word. It can be used as either a verb, meaning to talk foolishly at length, or as a noun, referring to what is said (or written) by the person who is blathering.
The person who is blathering, incidentally, is called a
BLATHERSKITE. I personally haven't heard this word used, however, although I have heard them called
BLATHERING IDIOTS, which means the same thing. Since I don't care for name-calling, I'll just let these last two terms slip by.
