Lovely article about DR PENNYO.

And the doggie pictures are hard to resist.  Sending vibes for lots of phone calls and emails!

Good Afternoon!

DR Ben - I went and got my hair cut at Chelsea Barber, 465 W. 23rd (basically at 10th Ave.).  I had heard about the place from various people, and it was featured on "Queer Eye", so...  A little bit of a wait, but I got a great cut, and even though the waiting chairs were filled, each of the three (only three!) barbers really takes their time with their current client.  It was fascinating watching them work.

As for Nick- yes, one and the same.. my buddy, and future "Hero" to DR Ant's Hysterium.

And now I must get ready to hop on the A Train back down to 42nd Street...

;D

As long as I'm finding out about food festivals, I would be remiss not to mention the Melbourne Food and Wine Festival, which is going on right now.

And there's the Washington Catfish Festival.  That's in Washington, Louisiana.  Betcha never heard of the place.  Neither had I!

Speaking of Tony Walton, I've just finished listening to the commentary on MARY POPPINS, and Julie Andrews is so very complimentary about Tony Walton's contribution to the picture. I think it's great they remained such good friends and supporters of each other even after their divorce.

Our Arizona compadres might be interested in the West of Western Food Festival, being held in Phoenix this weekend.

I just got my notification that LAURA has shipped. Of course, that means I won't get it until Monday, but I will look forward to seeing it then.

As you may well know, she writes books for children, with her daughter, and Tony Walton does the illustrations... :D

And I've heard Tony speak euphorically about Julie as a person, as a wife and mother, and as an entertainer.

And this summer at Goodspeed, Julie's directing THE BOY FRIEND and Tony's designing it just as they did for the Sag Harbor production about 3 years ago!

TOD:  I doubt I'll be watching any television before Sunday, so that cancels out DVD and VCR.  CD:  Jerome Kern, John Rutter cjoral pieces, Bryn Terfel, and Zez Confrey.

I used to own John Rutter's complete cjoral set!

Absolutely true; and the lady who did the casting then was at "my" hotel some months ago!...and one of John Kander's cousins was here too a few weeks ago!
It's a small world after all!....

And the National Cherry Blossom Festival will be running in Washington DC (The other Washington) from March 26th thru April 10th.

Personally, I never ate a cherry blossom that I didn't like!

Has anybody been following the threads on the Past Films and DVD usenet groups about the WB Classic Comedies DVD sets suddenly disappearing from all the online retailers?  They're not just sold out--they've removed the item completely.  Was there a licensing problem?  Are we all incredibly lucky to have ours?  There was a slight glitch with my order that I didn't think much about until I saw these threads.
