Hi folks! I was tired. I slept most of the morning away. When I got up, Mom and I talked about the trip. Then I went online and answered some e-mails. Then I caught up on all of the posts but was so tired by the time I finished them that I said the heck with it and went and laid back down. Bear went with me.
I woke up about a half hour ago and feel pretty good now.
I had another Mr. Toads Wild Ride home last night. The van driver took a wrong turn and we went to Saint Petersburg! Yikes!
Hey, DR Ben, we DO look alike! I didn’t believe it when I think DR Elmore told me that but when I saw the picture of us, I have to agree.
I can’t BELIEVE I missed the snow by one day. Dog gone it. I really wanted to see some.
But, I did get to go ice skating! You would have been so proud of me—I was as graceful as a gazelle in underpants.
I went around the ring ten times and I didn’t fall. Not even once. One guy slammed me into the wall because HE couldn’t stop but I didn’t fall even then. I’m not saying that I was in the middle of the ring but I was an arms length off of the side. I even went around a few times without touching the side at all. I was passing people that were on the side as well.
All in all, I was very pleased with myself. The downside was that I got so hot and sweaty under the sweater and coat that when I got off of the ice I got the chills. By the time I went back to my hotel room, my teeth were chattering. I took a good hot bath and changed into some new warm clothes (including my long johns) and I was fine.
Vixmom, don’t feel bad—I know how you feel. I wish I had time to talk to everyone. We were such a merry group that night. You know that usually I am very shy around a new group of people and find it very hard to say very much to anyone. I felt so comfortable with everyone of our group that there was none of that shyness. You all made me feel so welcome.
I loved meeting everyone. I can’t thank you all enough for one of the most wonderful times I’ve ever had.
I have to upload my photos and resize some of them then I will post them.
I would like copies of the ones that have already been posted. I will gladly send copies of the ones I took.
So much to say I can't get my thoughts straight.
DR Jose, the wi fi card does work but the PDA screen is so small that I had to keep scrolling back and forth to read the posts--it was giving me quite a headache. I vow to have a notebook computer for next time and as I have a nice chunk of money left over from the trip, that might be as soon as this weekend.
I have found my hotel. I just LOVED the Muse. When I come back (note I am not saying IF) I shall stay there. They had everything one could want. From an umbrella to the bathrobe to a room safe to the mini bar to, to, to! The room was large and quiet. I didn't have to ask for a bathtub/shower either.
I had my bed turned down for me every evening and a cookie/cake thing that was quite good was waiting for me as well. I always enjoyed it the next morning with my tea.
The dogs really missed me. I was almost knocked over with dog kisses and thumping tails when I was greeted by them last night. Bear slept by my side and wouldn't leave me today.
It was wonderful to get away but wonderful to come home. I missed my mom and was very happy to see that she was ok.
