Today, I'm taking the day off from work so that I can go to my parents' to help move some furniture.  My mom bought my dad a new easy chair (I think) and we have to move some stuff out of the way.  Since the chair (or whatever) is being delivered sometime today, my mom wanted help today instead of Monday, even though that's a holiday and I get the day off anyway.  Oh, well.  It'll be fine.  And she's making tacos for lunch, so that'll be good. :)

Today is the sitzprobe for Mack & Mabel.  Before I go to rehearsal, I will stop at the pharmacy and pick up my daily meds.

TOD

Practically nothing, sorry to say, but last night just to stare at something silly while eating, I watched an old DVD of Stephen King’s GRAVEYARD SHIFT. Oy! I’d never seen it, and I guess it was okay for what it was, but what it was isn’t much. An obvious story, once you’ve seen the first scene. And acting? Well, the “Maine” accents steal the show, and that’s not necessarily good news. Fine set design, though, in creating the creepiest, filthiest mill/factory ever.

Last night we began a 1985 BBC version of Oliver Twist, with Eric Porter as Fagin.  Each episode is 30 minutes, and there are 12 episodes.  The cast is good, and this appears to be the only adaptation to cover nearly every incident and character in the original novel, which I read around 1974.  Porter's Fagin is not as creepy as Alec Guinness in the wonderful 1948 David Lean film.
