She told me that her home town is just two hours from Wuhan. Her brother and mother, who is in a senior care center, still live there. Both are doing fine. She said the senior center is closed to visitors and no one's been sick.

I know everyone is self-isolating but you don't have to self-isolate from HERE, you know.

Music by Peteris Barisons, who, I believe, is a Latvian composer.  His music is wunderbar.

I bought some herbs and will try the preventative one that they're using a lot in China.

Wondering and pondering, which, according to their spellings, should rhyme - and yet, they do not.

I did finish One Man, Two Guv'nors and it had some very funny moments but kind of fizzled by the end.  The audience in London surprised me - a LOT of kids whooping and hollering - I wonder if they padded the house with those types for the taping.  And for all Nicholas Hytner's director credit, all the physical comedy was directed by his associate, and that's like, I don't know, two-thirds of the play - he should have been given a co-director credit.  The physical stuff IS funny and the actors are all excellent.  It's free on YouTube on the NT Live page.  It's long, though - two hours and forty minutes and that's with only a thirty-second break.  It would have been better with a half-hour gone.

There's one line for checkout.  It goes down one of the aisles and sometimes farther than that.  When you get to the front of the line an employee tells you which register is ready.

We have heard of a market that has turned the isles into one way "streets".

I was chatting with a friend in the Bay Area (San Francisco) yesterday. He said their freeways are deserted, too -- except that there was a back-up near one of the off-ramps. It was the off-ramp to Costco.

My acupuncturist reopened her office today. She was masked and gloved while she treated me. She has to get used to the gloves while inserting the needles. The building maintenance staff installed dispensers of disinfectant wipes at several locations.

I am glad for you.  Did you also have to wear a mask?

I hope you feel better for the treatment.

But the freeways here are hardly deserted.  They're not jammed but there are a LOT of cars on the 101.

I'm not sure what advantage that would have. People just need to distance. Most here are doing so, but not everyone.

I am wearing a mask at all times now.  It is an amazing mask in that it looks exactly like my face.  You'd never even know it was there.

The pizza delivery guy did not quite heed the instructions to leave the pizza and ring the doorbell.  He rang the doorbell, I waited twenty seconds, then opened the door to find him standing there holding the box.  I took it with my oven mitts - he was wearing a mask, though.

I wore a mask coming into the office, but not during treatment. Thanks, the treatment will help.

I keep hearing stories of the 405 being deserted. Maybe these people don't use the 101.

The mushroom soup was excellent. Now I can play around with it. Maybe some chili flakes in it.

The original recipe called for 6 tablespoons of flour as a thickener. It didn't need it. And no, it isn't thick, but it is full of flavor.
