Well, you've read the notes, the notes were collected, and now it is time for you to post until the collected cows come home.

Last night, Tom wrote:  "I hope all went well for George and his family today."  I missed this.  Then, a little later, Tom wrote:  "I hope the day went okay for you and your family."  And I missed that post, too! :-\

Now that I've caught up with all of yesterday's posts, I can say, "Thanks, Tom!  It did!" :D

And now, I'm going to sleep.  Today is my sister's birthday, so we're all getting together for that.  That'll be good.

Have a good day, all!

DR George, as family deaths go, I think it's wonderful that your dad had a humdinger of a sendoff.  It's nice to celebrate a birthday today.  The cycle continues.

I had a rough night, and Annabelle and Thatch stayed with me throughout.  I had the beginnings of another nightmare like the one the night before with the Wicked Witch of the West and the zombies, and I woke just past 11:00.  The rest of the night was restless.  I had a dream about a Siamese cat but I remember nothing else.  I will most likely nap part of the day.

I thought I had received my absentee ballot yesterday.  What I got was a pamphlet on how to vote absentee!  So I just emailed them - again - and asked for an absentee ballot.

Well, that was an amazing set of notes about book collecting.

It’s sobering to be reminded what real collecting is, as opposed to what the rest of us dabble in. But I will eat up that documentary even though it doesn’t cover the book world as BK knows it.

My last few nights of dreaming have been indistinct as far as my recall is concerned. I did have a short nightmare a couple of nights ago, from which I quickly awoke as I tried to scream something in the dream. No zombies or witches, just normal stuff going bad.  :)

So, today and tomorrow are to be in the high 70s, then it’s cool again for a while. That would all be fine with me, if not for the fact that they’re throwing some rain in there, damn them. We need a complete overhaul of the weather forecasting business.

I’m remiss in not having brought my keyboard and other equipment in from the car after Wednesday night, so that’s happening today. I did some straightening and cleaning of the Music Room in preparation for it, so things will feel good in there. In normal times, indulging in such sloth wouldn’t be possible.

The New York Animal Concentration Camp Care Center is now photographing new arrivals in an autumnal setting.  If I could, I would adopt little 33-lb Greenie in a heartbeat.

I read that as "going bald."

Well, I'm getting a little tired of listening to Bach motets and cantatas this morning.  And it's time for breakfast.

Alas, that one was years ago...and when I woke up, it wasn’t a dream!

Had a strange dream about a massive performance. I had somehow forgotten my pants, and I had to lead the choir rehearsal.

I have several "complete" sets of the Bach cantatas. Haven't listened to any in a long while.

I do wonder about something they said in the "Bookseller" documentary about collectors. For some, the hunt for the object is more fulfulling than owning the object, in the end.

Haven't seen that, although I do understand that the Victorians were obsessed with death portraits.
