First listen to a song from the new Anyone Can Whistle. Maria Friedman, like Jenna Russell in the first Sunday revival, seems into ACTING. I also found the balance off. Too much orchestra trying to drown her out.

https://www.playbill.com/article/exclusive-listen-to-maria-friedman-sing-there-wont-be-trumpets-from-1st-complete-recording-of-stephen-sondheims-anyone-can-whistle

I think I'll pass. I will say, I do like some other Yap recordings.

I  was the one who asked, Singdaw. I have been eating soy curls lately, but I am often not satiated.

DR Jane - when I was last on HHW, I was vegan.  I had gotten away from that in recent years, but it seems I'll need to return to that state.

DR Laura asked, I just figured you still were, or a vegetarian.  Being vegan is hard.

Which is really not a hardship. I found I adapted easily to that way of eating, and it agreed with me. It just takes a bit of extra planning.

Good.  Feel better returning to a healthier diet.

I could be vegan if it included butter and heavy cream. And cheese. And meat.

I ordered it.  I just listened to this song and Maria Friedman sang, "The rest of the world isn't all like you," which was also sung by Lee Remick on the OBC.  I have a photocopied copy of the published script and the printed line was, "The play isn't over by a longshot yet!"  I'm surprised that they didn't use the lyric in the script.  I can only assume that Sondheim okayed it since he was involved with this recording...or maybe nobody questioned it.  Just curious.

If you're looking for some ideas of books with a happy ending, check this out. I've read three and found four to put reservations on at the library.

Thanks.  The list seems short or I am missing some of it-lol.

If anyone reads MIDNIGHT LIBRARY please let me know what you think of it.

Today Texas became the state with the most Covid cases reported, passing California by several thousand. It’s also second in virus-related deaths, after New York. Our governor must be proud. The numbers have been going up by about 5,000 every day.

It's been a day.  I didn't leave work until 4:00pm.  I did get a short bike ride in, so that was nice.  I did some work on the computer and just ordered the low-carb plate from the local Hawaiian place I like.

Had a Chinese chicken salad for food, had to go do a quick visit with Dave Strohmaier, who's in town for a day, stopped at Gelson's and got four little crab claws (no calories) for the snack, and am still plugging away at project one.

One guy e-mailed me - he was trying to make a purchase and just couldn't figure it out - either on the site or on PayPal.  Given that he was trying to purchase $800' worth of CDs, I had him call me and I talked him through it :)

Read that Marge Champion died at 101 years of age.  Haven't confirmed.  Happy to say  I was once choreographed by her.

I went to the chiropractor today, picked up some food, then settled in to review a boatload of election propositions. California has always done a very good job of providing legislative analysis on each issue, so voters have objective information on which to base their decisions. But there are always a lot of them!

DR Jeanne, our wonderful super Steve Trifun, when he retired and returned to Serbia, passed the job on to his son-in-law Bosko, who was sadly not his father-in-law, and management sacked him. Val replaced him.

Thanks for the clarification. I guess I missed a generation. So Val was your 3G super and you're now on 4G, Jeff.

Still sore. And shaking to Earth, Wind and Fire this morning with the bird was no a wise idea.

Do you and JB dance together? Any videos you can share?

Glad to hear it. Vibes he works out well.

I've cleaned off the top of the refrigerator, but I have no place to put anything inside it if I need to empty it.  Sometimes a studio apartment is a pain in the ass when you need shelf space.

Yes, to live comfortably one either needs a very LARGE studio or to be a real minimalist. I am not a minimalist, but it's an interesting experiment.

We installed our AC unit about 24 years ago. It has only needed repair three or four times, the most recent last June.  We have been tossing around the idea of replacing it before it conks out for good. Personally, I think AC units should last at least 25 years, but I guess the standard is 10, which is ridiculous, in my opinion.

I understand your frustration. Large appliances used to last 20-25 years, and I think they could again, but it's more profitable to make them cheaply. How many people would pay extra for better quality? I'm one who will, but there's still a limit on how much more I'll pay. And I'm definitely in the minority.

Do you own the refrigerator, Elmore, or does the apartment complex own it?

The apartment owns it.  I got a new stove and fridge in 2012, and today the service man pronounced the fridge dead.  I will be getting a new one on Friday afternoon.

Yay!
