Right now, as I'm listening to the last tracks of Donald's radio show, I'm drinking a diet Pepsi in my brand new "Dayton Metro Library" mug that I got from DR Ginny (and thanks for the chocolate coins, too)!  It wasn't necessary but it's muchly appreciated and all quite delish! ;D I'm glad you're enjoying the CDs!

And I forgot to mention that DR Ginny also sent me a Dayton Metro Library bookmark...very appropriate since I also work for a library!  I don't have a digital camera, but here's a scan of the bookmark...sorry about it being blurry.  Just had to share!

Well, Donald's radio show is over (quite delightful) and I now have to record the three-album compilation of Louis Armstrong.  Have a good day, all!

Back from the Ray Courts Show and I can say there were definitely no "fatty bits". It was slim pickin's and both BK and Penny were bemoaning it's lack of luster.  Not a lot of traffic.  I think BK had sold two books by the time I left...I hope the afternoon picked-up.  BK & Penny had been moved and were now in the main room next to Diane McBain.

BK seems to think it's the new venue that's the problem.  It may be, though I like the wide aisles and more space.  But the fact that the old Bev Garland motel was a tighter fit may have made everything more jam-packed and thus more energized.  It probably doesn't help that the show is running opposite the LA Book Festival, but really different audiences I think.  I think the main problem is the shows have gotten tired.  Same old faces and no new blood.  Once you've got Hugh O'Brien's autograph, do you really need to come see him again?

June Wilkinson only does the show in LA once a year and won't do it if she doesn't have new material.  Doesn't want to wear out her welcome.  Many of these folks have...And the old ones are dying off, the new new ones may be too new and those in the middle range...guys like Bob Denver, who you never see at these shows...have discovered webites and are probably selling more stuff without expending the energy.  I suppose part of the thrill is folks actually meeting their favourites face-to-face and pressing the flesh, but for most celebs, it's selling their merchandise.  Anyway, this show is just gotten real anemic looking...

Even the dealers have gotten boring...I walked out of the place empty-handed...though one dealer had a beautiful poster of IF I WERE KING which I would have loved to have had.  I just wasn't going to pay the thousand of dollars he always wants for his stuff.

JRand54, the screenwriting panel was okay. It was with high school students, but I would hardly call it thrilling.

BOOKS I WISH I HAD WRITTEN:

SHE
TARZAN OF THE APES
THE FAR CRY
BEAU GESTE
THE HIGH WINDOW
THE MALTESE FALCON
THE THIN MAN
THE MASK OF FU MANCHU

I'm back - bailed an hour early to have one less hour of the horrid air conditioning.  I actually had a good time today, despite the low traffic and action (I did really well yesterday, so I didn't care).  First off, we were in a much better place - had we been there yesterday we probably would've doubled our sales.  Happily, I was seated directly next to Miss Diane McBain and we bonded quite nicely.  At the end of the show I gave her a set of Kritzer books to take with her - she was delighted and I must say she was a charmer and a terrific person.  I also met up with the girl who played the original Tabitha, the kid on Bewitched.  She seemed to have quite a lot of people at her table most times - just goes to show you.  I went up to her and told her I played her bro on the first pilot of Tabitha.  She said she'd heard about me for years and that it was finally nice to meet up.  She's quite a comely young woman now, sort of a Helen Hunt type - Erin Murphy is her name.  I also met Jean Carson, who was very sweet, and James Stacy was sitting nearby us.  June Foray was there today as well.  I actually managed to keep my trap shut for at least half the show, and I wore my coat the entire time - so, hopefully I'm in better shape than I was yesterday.  Now if I can just not overdo the palaver at this Passover do.  Then it's on to the doctor in the morning and then a few days of vocal rest.

Is this a slow news day here at haineshisway.com?  This is pulling the weight?  You'd think it was a Sunday or something.  And tomorrow we'll get the usual, "Oh, I was errant and truant all weekend" - banana oil, I say.  Photographs coming up.

Far off in the background is Mr. George Chakiris - seated nearby but not visible - Mr. Russ Tamblyn.  I'm surprised there wasn't a rumble.

Did Mr. Ferrigno have a booth table, or was he just another adoring fan?

Isn't that amazing!  PennyO also wrote a book called WRITER'S BLOCK.

I'm back.  I got Mom and the dogs fed.  Well, not exactly like that sounded but you get my drift.   :D  Dishes are done as well.

Thank you, TCB!  I knew I had a picture around here somewhere that would work.  I just had to get it croped and correctly sized, etc.

In case you are wondering about the hair.  The last photo (the drivers license) was taken last year after I had allowed my hair to grow back from the time the first lady cut my elbow length hair to just below my shoulder.

This picture was taken when the 2nd lady cut my nice almost long hair back again.   For those who met me in NYC, that is how long my hair has grown since this picture was taken back in the fall of 04.  I was going to get my hair cut errr trimmed before the trip but was to scared to allow anyone to touch it.  I was afraid that with the way my luck was running, I would walk out with a pixie!

Nice pictures, BK!  I’m so glad to see DR Penny O.  How is she doing?  How are her parents?

How cool to meet Lou Ferrigno!  I always loved the Incredible Hulk.  I also really liked Bill Bixby.  I remember seeing he had cancer on one of the tabloids and thinking, “It won’t be long and he’ll be gone.”  Unfortunately, I was right.  He was another guy that had a neat voice.  I don’t know what I heard in it but I instantly liked him.

Wow! Miss Diane McBain is indeed still lovely.  And Miss Bridget Hanley was of course of the Brides Who Came to Seattle!

Thanks for the photos.  Yes, I have seen Miss Erin Murphy on a couple of shows, and I think she was on the BEWITCHED show on E! a few seasons ago.  She is indeed lovely.

Wonderful photos Mr. Bk! Had I known you would become chummy with Ms. McBain I would have sent my calling card for you to give to her as Scarlet Street wants me to interview her!!! And doesn't she look glorious!

And wouldn't I have LOVED to have been able to meet Mr. Lou Ferrigno...he just gets better with age!

Well, hopefully I can get to one of the next Ray Courts shows...July or October! I think Laurie Mitchell is doing the October one.
