I still associate Lindy with "A dingo's got my baby".
Maybe not something to dance about.

Oh...

Rockapella
The Flirtations
The Bobs
Gotham

And I also like a lot of the college groups out their now.  Some wonderful stuff!  The Princeton Tigertones have a version of James Taylor's "Shower the People" that always makes me smile.

Someone has asked me for the name of some stories (film, book, opera, play) wherein a poor boy is adopted into a rich family.

"Blood Brothers" almost fits the bill BK. I wouldn't wish that on anyone.
Of course I could write my autobiography as long as "rich" does not mean in terms of worldy possessions.

Jane Austin's brother was adopted into a wealthy family.

Mail story. this morning's mail included my copy of "The Mad Show".  It took a while to arrive here.  It had been incorrectly addressed at Deep Discount and went to the Virgin Islands!! Maybe Deep Discount know more about me than I thought.  Maybe it is a St Thomas connection.
The mail department did not include the complete address - they ended it with VI for Victoria (my home state) and had not included Australia on the label.

The order date was April 4th so the time for delivery is not too bad at all.

Is it an HHW anniversary?

I'm trying to watch the Aldrich film The Longest Yard but I keep falling asleep.  Maybe tonight is not the night for this little film.  Maybe another film - like Battle of the Bulge, a title with which I empathize completely.

We're back from a fun, fun, fun afternoon seeing the Taylors (Andy and his lovely wife Alet) in The Producers.  This was anything but an "off-kilter" group of performers.  I think the reviewer for Dayton City Paper is just a little too full of his own importance.  Our seats were excellent (much more comfortable than the balcony seat I had at the St. James last October).  I was appalled, though, at the people who felt they had things S-O-O-O-O important afterward that they had to leave during the curtain call.

We then had a wonderful dinner at Caffe Anticoli.  Here's what was eaten:

Mom:  House salad with sun-dried tomato dressing, crab cakes
DH Richard:  House salad with bleu cheese, veal saltimbocca, neapolitan gelato with chocolate & raspberry drizzles
Me:  House salad with sun-dried tomato dressing, vegetable manicotti, raspberry gelato "enrobed" in Belgian chocolate (which I could not finish)

We shared a carafe of nice Liebfraumilch and Richard and I had coffee.

Church for me this morning, then a mind-numbing meeting all afternoon. And now that I'm home, they are whining for dinner and cherry coke.

Watching WALK,  DON'T RUN....interesting location shots of Tokyo, and Miiki Taka from SAYONARA trying to do comedy.  Samantha Eggar is beautiful, but I think she needed a stronger director than Charles Walters to be funny rather than irritating.  She seems to have caught the Maggie-McNamara cutes.

Irritating, not at all in my opinion.  Vulnerable and appealing is how I would describe her.

Watching the E! true hollywood story about I LOVE LUCY.  Some nice interviews and rare pictures.  The clips don't match the script - but oh well...for instance they keep showing some old NBC television studio clip when they are talking about LUCY - but lots of NEW interviews.

Doris Singleton still looks pretty good.

Love Samantha Eggar, whom I saw recently at the Beverly Garland Hotel.

That Kevin Spirtas show is not quite the one we're doing - he'll do some selections from ours, but I don't know that we'll have even gotten his show on its feet by that time.  I think we're actually going to try and start that process mid-month.
