Power back for more than 20 minutes. Had a good nap with my mask.

And you used your short time with power to take a nap?? I'd have thought you'd have had plenty of nap time when the power was out!  ;)

I am back from finally getting my new glasses adjusted. Instead of little hard plastic nose guards I have slightly larger, much more comfortable silicone ones.

I sympathize. Frames really need to fit your face properly. I'd prefer to forego the fashion and concentrate on well-made frames that fit properly. I had this discussion with an optician once. Fashion drives the frames business, unfortunately. When I find a frame I like I keep it for many years.

I think these are well made and fit my face.  Glasses almost always hurt in the beginning.  I also keep frames I like for a long time.

Speaking of getting away, today I went shopping for the first time since March 2020, I think, in a store that wasn't a supermarket. I'd been planning to go to Bed, Bath & Beyond one day to shop for new sheets. Then Covid hit. The stores reopened a while ago, but I had no desire to shop. Of course, I could have shopped online, but I wanted to see and feel the sheets before purchase. I found a set on sale for $19.99, plus I had a coupon for $5 off, so I got a bargain. Sheet sets at the other stores I usually shop started around $100, though I saw some at Amazon that were cheaper.

In case anyone was wondering, I was NOT born to shop!

I am extremely impressed with the price.  What sheets did you purchase.  We also need to take a trip to Bed, Bath, & Beyond so I can feel the sheets.

Did they have sample swatches out like they used to have or could you feel them inside the packaging?

I bought Salt (the brand, a "house" brand, I imagine) "Cool & Crisp Percale." They're 100% cotton, which I prefer. Only a 200 thread count, but I'm fine with that. I wanted something inexpensive.

There was a sample of their sateen sheets, also by Salt. Apparently, sateen is all the rage in sheets today, which I learned by shopping online. I've never cared for sateen and wanted percale or a knit, but I didn't seen any knits at BB&B. I've never tried knit sheets, but would be willing to do so for a soft, "teeshirt-like feel." I bought two sets of inexpensive sheets about ten years ago at BB&B and have been perfectly happy with them.

Geraldine Page:  NONE.....she is nearly as irritating to me as is Diane Ladd....NEARLY.....and I really can't watch her in anything...for long....especially INTERIORS.  She is especially egregious in SWEET BIRD OF YOUTH....  But then some folks enjoy her and that's okay, too.

Unfortunately, CPAP masks don't work without power.       :-X

We had a little sun here today. I believe it's only the third or fourth sunny day in all of April.

Thanks Jeanne.

Funny, I thought percale were all the rage.  That is what both Macy's & LL Bean suggested I buy.  I got the ones from LLB, which had the best reviews, and returned them.  From the descriptions I expected them to feel like the Egyptian cotton sheets & had years ago.

I still have a set of satin sheets that we used in the guest room.  Guests just loved them when they were new and said they were going to buy some.

When we needed new sheets I passed the the satin and purchased a nice 100% cotton (wish it said the thread count on the label) I would buy them again if I could find them  They had a nice weight to them.  Our set lasted 14 years and the queen set I got for the guest room are still good.

I wonder if the knit sheets are like the old t-shirts in a bag that were popular awhile back.  I liked them, Keith didn't.

Sorry.

Every time I see CPAP I read CRAP which I think is a perfect name for them ;)  It is embarrassing as it is also what I call them.

No. I knew I wanted cotton, preferably 100%.

While I can't recall any objections to Geraldine Page neither can I think of any favorite films.

have you tried bamboo sheets? I haven't, but liked the bamboo TP I tried, but not the kleenex. I suspect bamboo works well for some things, but not others. Or it's just personal preference. I'll be interested in your take on bamboo sheets.

We have bamboo clothing we like and our towels are bamboo.  I would definitely purchase the towels again.  I am curious to try the TP.

I did feel one set of poor quality bamboo sheets that were way too thin.  I want to feel the good ones.

The bamboo sheets at BB&B are from the same company we purchased our towels.  I tried to get them to send me a sample swatch but they wouldn't.

According to my insurance company, the freezer foods should be fine for up to 24 hours, as long as the doors weren't open, which they weren't. The fridge is another matter, but I don't think I have to throw much out. Maybe some dairy. Most of it is produce or things like pickles and condiments (and beer and wine).

Do you have a chest freezer or “deep freeze” that can build up frost?

You aren’t saying you’d have to throw out beer and wine, are you?

I am not throwing out beer or wine.

Just watched a Carol Burnett Show episode with Robert Goulet.  I do love listening to that man sing.
