Congrats to DR GEORGE on his buttling part.....

Thanks, Jrand!  I just hope I can see my highlighting!  I'm in the theater waiting for others but I can barely see that my lines were highlighted. :-\

Well, this is certainly going to be a weekend!  This Sunday will be my niece's 38th birthday!  For her birthday presents, she wanted to know if I could take her to Tacoma to a glass blowing place so that she could get some new glass pumpkins (which she collects), and also go to a vegan cupcake place and get some cupcakes.  I said sure, so I'm taking off half the day from work and we'll take her car to Tacoma (since my new car hasn't arrived yet >:( ) and then I'll go to work for half a day.  But then after work tonight...

Please share photos of the glass pumpkins.

We're back in town.  I didn't think to take any pictures of the pumpkins today, but I can on Sunday.  And it turns out that it wasn't a vegan cupcake place...it's just a cupcake place.

But they did sell vegan cupcakes-yes?

Actually, I was looking through their website:

https://www.hello-cupcake.com/

And I didn't notice anything specifying that they had vegan options.  Sorry to get your hopes up, Jane. :-\

LOL I don't care.  I just figured most places have vegan options these days and figured you could get something for your niece.

It's not a problem.  She's not exclusively vegan anymore, so she's okay with dairy and some fish.

For an hour one attempt after another failed.  Just as we had about given up our wonderful salesman did a software update on the phone.

Friday evening greetings!  Charlotte and her parents arrived about 1am today, so we’ve taken it pretty easy.  Except for Granddad, who received a call yesterday to fill in tonight (and Sunday) for a Dayton-area priest who broke his arm.

I’m having fun learning to speak Charlotte’s language.

I now have working apps again.  They kept shutting down on my old phone due to lack of storage space.

I gave up on Red Rocket. But what I watched instead, the last two Shirley Temple movies, aren't any better.

Shirley in blackface. Ugh.

I have watched something I very much enjoyed today.

Amazon Prime is offering "Why Didn't They Ask Evans?", an Agatha Christie mystery.

It is a three-part TV presentation written and directed by Hugh Laurie, based on the Christie novel, but with a wholly different perspective from the short story.

The young stars are particularly good, IMO, and the entire presentation is what Kenneth Branagh should be forced to sit through to see HOW a Christie adaptation should be done if one is not going to be literal in one's presentation of a Christie novel.

I recommend it to all.

I attended a Good Friday service at my church.

It was unexpectedly nerve-wrackingly grim and negative.  I understood the pastor's point-of-view but was almost made ill by his incessant dwelling on negativity.

I prefer a bit of joy to arise out of sermons, but this one had none.  It was headache-inducing.

I didn't like it at all.

The Good Friday Tenebrae service at my church is always grim. But I enjoy it because they always play one of my favorite hymns, "O, Sacred Head Now Wounded."

I'll definitely have to add that 5th question into my siddur, DR John G.

And given gefilte fish, it is particularly apt.

Sandy’s mother’s gefilte fish was awesome!  It was my favorite part of Passover.

Comcast's On Demand has a documentary from 2019 called "Patrick Swayze: Ghosts & Demons," but no "Superstar."
