MBarnum - Great pics!

Where are the ones of you?

Well, you know what happens when you are the cameraman!

But before I head back...

Goosebump Moment of the Night-

While sitting by Sunset Lake waiting for the fireworks to begin, I started hearing "America, the Beautiful" being sung.  I turned to my left, and there was Laurel Masse, Amanda McBroom and Michelle Brourman (the composer) singing in three-part harmony.

Then came "The Star Spangled Banner"...

Truly beautiful.

Hmmm.... There are too many ways to answer that question.

Head back to where and where is Sunset Lake?  It is difficult to keep up with your loction when I have been around let alone gone for several days. ;D

DR Jane - I got a call late Thursday night about a musical emergency of sorts.  So, early Saturday morning I trained up to Poughkeepsie, NY, from Washington, DC.  I'm assisting with a workshop of a show called Dangerous Beauty at New York Stage & Film at Vassar College.

In fact, I'm posting this from the Meryl Streep rehearsal studio.

Sunset Lake is on the Vassar Campus.  The Actitivities Division put on some fireworks tonight - and the NYS&F also had a very nice dessert buffet too.  They even had hamantaschen and rugelach!  I'm staying in one of the old dorms, Jossilyn (spelling?).

In any case...  Here's a link to where I am and what I'm doing:

http://powerhouse.vassar.edu/season.html

And I shall be returning to DC then Richmond sometime Thursday or Friday.  I'm just helping out during the final rehearsals and tech.

And I'm having a wonderful time!

We had a great time with our good friends.  The wife and I were bridesmaids at each other’s weddings and have known each other since Jr. High.  Her husband is very funny and we all get along wonderfully.

My friend had just about the best mother who left this world way too soon when we were 26.  In high school when things where tough at my house, theirs was always open to me.  When my mother didn’t want to give me a sweet 16 party her mother offered to do so, prompting my mother to take action.  She also made the veil for my wedding dress.

DR MBarnum, any camping trip would be made fun with so many hunky guys along for the ride. I'm sure you had a blast. Thanks for sharing the eye candy with us.

Finally got around tonight to watching last week's RESCUE ME (a new episode comes on tomorrow night, so I was running out of time before I got behind in the story). Now, I'm all caught up and ready for more.

Now all I have left on the DVR was that LARA CROFT movie I recorded today. Maybe I can get it watched tomorrow, and then the disc drive will be totally cleared.

And the friend who loaned me the TROY DVD talked with me tonight, and when I told him I had finally gotten TROY watched, he reminded me that the next DVD in my queue from his collection is waiting for me: NATIONAL TREASURE.

What happened to "Carnivale" Was anything resolved seeing as the show was not renewed?

I'm back from a lovely evening with lovely folks.  A truly interesting group of people - I knew very few, except for folks I've met at screenings at this place.  Just a few I met tonight -  Norman Lloyd, Jack Larson (Jimmy Olson in the original Superman TV show), Marsha Hunt, Curtis Harrington, and I know I should have know who some of the others were but no one was introducing anyone.  I'll have more in tomorrow's notes, but I will say we heard some rather delicious dirt about Mr. Cruise and his "deal" with Miss Holmes.  According to this well-placed insider info, they have a contract for five years, and she was paid 8 million bucks and assured that her career would benefit mightily.  This deal was done very quickly because, apparently, some rather sordid news about Mr. Cruise was about to surface, news that would, shall we say, not be good for his hetero image.

Sounds similar to the contract Mr. Cruise had with Ms. Kidman.

Well, I can see by the hands on the clock on the wall that sleep time approaches. Hope everyone enjoys what's left of the 4th. The firecrackers are going off all around my neighborhood despite it being illegal, so I guess I'll be reading awhile before turning out the light.

I was a very good boy at the partay.  I only had one helping of food - probably the equivalent of one small chicken breast, one tiny piece of sausage, mini-portions of a couple of pasta salads (I mean basically a bite or two), no bread, and no dessert.  In fact, I'm starving right now, so I'm making a couple of air hot dogs - fifty calories, no fat, on no fat low cal buns.

And Jack Larson! Was he fun? I always liked him a lot!

Jack sat at my table and we heard quite a few interesting stories - he's in the new Superman film, and he told stories about working with Travolta, and also, most interestingly, about the new Focus Film called Truth, Justice, and the American Way, all about the George Reeves death, with Ben Affleck as Reeves.

I imagine Jack would have some interesting stories! I am also thinking that his partner died a few years ago...am I right or am I thinking of someone else?
