I just had the most wonderful experience on my way to the market.  When DRJoey left, he left behind two bags of airline pretzels.  I told him I'd feed the birds with them.  I crushed them  in the bags and took them outside about 30 minutes ago.  I opened the bags and scattered the pretzels and some crushed dried bread I'd been saving over the street in front of the apartment.  Suddenly, dozens of pigeons, perhaps a few doves, and some tiny sparrows flew in and landed at my feet; there was a carpet of birds gathering food in front of me.  It was quite beautiful watching them light, fly up and land again; the pigeons were grey, brown, white, and huge next to the little sparrows.  Then, the whole flock flew into the air and down 82nd Street toward Amsterdam.  A few minutes later they flew back and resumed feeding.  Then a few flew up to the church towers and some onto the fire escape in front of my building.  I'd never seen such a show in 25 years of living here.

Speaking of the fire escape, I hope the birds are gone by the time I have to put up DRMBarnum there.

Hi all!  I am now the proud owner of the very model of Toro mower I went to look at.

I made the sales guy laugh when he asked me what kind of grass I have.  I told him, "Green".  I have no idea what type of grass it is, I just want to cut it!

I can't use it this weekend because it takes at least 24 hours to charge the starter and I didn't get it out of the Bonnie until after five.  I had a bit of problem lifting it down.  It took two men to put in but there's only me to take it out.  I got it.

;D  Jose don't believe him this time. :)

It’s a shame someone couldn’t photograph you and the birds.

We were just at the 79th Street Boat Basin cafe, and this whole mess of birds came swooping down looking for food.  I guess it's like the Hitchcock movie, only they're only following HHW members.

Or else the birds are attacking DR Elmore and us for not being able to make it  to Curtis and Tom's (and Jose's) show.

And Jose's (and Curtis and Tom's) show is called TRIANGLE.  Everything's adding up somehow.

Someday maybe I can get a picture of the Blue Jays that come and
"steal"  the dogs food.

I just bought a squirrel feeder and hope they will come and get some peanuts when I put it up tomorrow.

Does anyone know about a British concept album of WUTHERING HEIGHTS with Lesley Garrett and Dave Willets?  The two of them do a delightful duet "You Were My First Love" from it, and I wonder if the rest of the score is as good?  I listened to Miss Garrett and the Anthony Warlow-David hobson duets albums this morning in the office.

I have that recording of Wuthering Heights, but I haven't listened to it in years...YEARS, I say!  I don't remember if I liked it or not.  I'll have to listen to it sometime today...after I walk my sister's dog.  She's at the beach and can't do it.
