DR Freddie, are you always so cheerful?

You give me a lift with your posts.

That's nice of you to say!

When I was FJL here, I think "FJL" was a lot less cheerful.

I have noticed that Freddie is much more cheerful.  I am glad you are in a better place.

DR Jane, when I had a basal cell thing removed from my forearm a few years ago, I'd already had two Mohs procedures, so I was surprised to hear that this wouldn't be one. They said Mohs is more for the face and head where appearances matter, and that insurance wouldn't cover it elsewhere, anyway. Or maybe the office wouldn't clutter up the other surgeon's schedule. Maybe both, I forget now. But it turned out to be literally a five-minute procedure, the arm healed fine, and the scar eventually shrunk in size. I can hardly even detect the actual spot now.

I just remembered this, actually for the first time in many years:

My interest in learning to fly was actually inspired by the scene in Atlas in which the lead character gets in a plane and flies herself to discovering where the big MacGuffin is happening. Possessing that kind of skill and independence planted the seed, but when a pilot friend took me up for a ride around the L.A. area on the morning of Christmas Eve 1975, that clinched it. A couple of years later I had my license.

Cool.

I get it, and Mohs is mostly to avoid a scar on a face.  As I have said, this spot is extremely sensitive and difficult.  Maybe TMI, but I cannot even sit on the toilet.

I, too, love Helen Mirren; she's fearless. Has she ever talked about making Caligula?

I love Helen Mirren. Her Prospero was good, but I didn’t like the movie.

The Melodica is a breeze to play - can be played directly with mouth to instrument or they have an attachment to play through so it's easier to handle. I own one, actually. I first used a Melodica in the Ring Lardner revue I created called Shut Up, He Explained, and I've used it in a few other shows. I even had a kid play it in one of the Kritzerland shows.

Fried catfish. 50% off coupon. I will say, that the first time I ordered fried catfish from Uncle Andre's, which was in 2022, I think, it was 14.98. It's now 22.98. Every restaurant in LA is off the charts with the prices.

You can still get a chili burger from Tommy's for about six bucks, though, and In 'N' Out is still very cheap.

But a sandwich, even in a coffee shop is fifteen to twenty bucks. Pasta is over twenty now, everywhere. Chicken dishes, fish dishes - ridiculous prices.

Indiana is a classical music schookl; no doubling classses and absolutely no prep for going out into the world and working in a Broadway pit or playing pop gigs.

Oh, my. :-\

I like Ayn Rand - a few years ago there was a three movie series of Atlas Shrugged which was not very good.......

I liked Barbara Brandon's book about her husband Nathaniel & Rand....

I remember watching only part of the first movie.  And didn't each movie have a completely different cast for the same characters? :o
