Nice.  Keith also got it in three.

That's great!

Congrats to DR George and Keith!   I got it in 3 too.

Thanks, and congrats to you, Kevin!

And of course there were the network nabobs who dubbed The Lucy Show starring Lucille Ball and Vivian Vance the Dyke Sans Dick Show.

TOD: I collect CDs and wine, but for listening and drinking vs investing. I had run out of space for CD storage, but then I discovered Space Saving Sleeves and now I have room to buy CDs again: https://spacesavingsleeves.com/

Those look really cool, especially if they fit all the paperwork without having to fold it in half.  I hate that.

They maintain the artwork, making it look more like a gatefold album. You just need to fold the right edge over the right hand side of the back insert. Often that's blank, but if there's a photo you might lose the edge. But that's a tiny nit in the overall quality. They also don't stand up straight by themselves, but I have enough CDs in digipaks, double CDs, and box sets that it works out.

Of course, you then have to do something with all the (non-recyclable) CD cases. :P

Our local Green Citizen takes them, though you have to pay them $1/pound. Now I know how many pounds of CD cases I had in my collection  :).

I agree. My friends and I shared a nice Barolo last night with dinner. Haven’t had one in a while.

We were in Barolo and Barbaresco in May. Here's a photo from Vietti.

My cousin is coming home from the hospital today after all of her rehab, so that is good news.

Wonderful, indeed!

TOD:

My favorite collectible was a window card for "Mack and Mabel".  It's not the priciest one i have, but it's a treasure.

I also have a "Li'l Abner" poster purchased from BK a year or so ago.

This weekend was meant to be the first ever Mars Hill University (my alma mater) Theater Department Alumni Reunion.

More than 150 folks who obtained theater degrees from the school over the past 60 years signed up.

I made my excuses this morning, however.  Given the weather situation and my age, I thought it inadvisable to embark upon such a journey tomorrow given the appalling weather conditions amassing as a result of Hurricane Helene.  Every update is much worse than the last, and I don't want to be riding in gale force winds and driving rains, which seems to be the prognosis over the next couple of days.

I notified the organizer and offered up my two paid registration events to someone who may like them but hadn't yet paid.  He thanked me, said I'd be missed, and that was that.

Two hours later, I received a text advising that the university would be closed Friday and that all events scheduled that day are cancelled. That includes a dinner i paid for.

I suspect the entire events will be cancelled, however.  Perhaps it will be rescheduled for a time in the near future.

Otherwise, that's the way the reunions crumble.

I daresay no one else here will be impacted by the weather situation with Helene.

However, local weather people have said this will be one of the most fierce storms in recent memory.  I have no idea of how much my area will be impacted, but major flooding is predicted all around me, along with wind damages (especially trees) and the ubiquitous power outages that result.

Sigh.

I am under a Tropical Cycolone Warning, and a Tornado Warning, until tomorrow morning.  And that doesn't begin to cover the possible future.

Helene was classified as a Category 4 an hour ago and it had not made landfall.  We've gotten more than 6 inches of rain over the past 24 hours, and the storm hasn't made landfall yet.

Ron, I'm so sorry to hear about what happened with the reunion, and hope you can stay safe.

But the owner is on the 4th floor of our building; the cat was found on the 2nd floor of the stairwell.
