And now, I'm off to the first production meeting for Evergreen Playhouse's Into the Woods!  I'm stage manager.

Sounds fabulous. Have a great meeting!

One fun thing is in tracking down a wig worn by a thief, the boys father flies with them to NY, and they go meet an actor in his dressing room to inquire about the wig. Then they stay and take in the Broadway show, which I thought was a nice touch.

I can't remember any of the books so I have no clue if I read this one or not.

I think it is the very first.

I looked it up and it was, on June 1, 1927.

My fourth grade teacher didn’t like mysteries, so she forbade us to read them during our free period. She couldn’t stop us from bringing them into the classroom, because we could read them on the bus. But she would have, if she could.

What a weird thing to be hung up about. One thing is, the books are mostly all text and don’t shy away from challenging vocabulary. It’s not like they’re comic books!

True.

Funny about comic books.  My brother & I passed Superman comic books reading them before my mother could get rid of them.  Her complaint was that we should be reading books.  Well, my sister who had no interest in comics really never read books aside from those required in school while my brother & I were big readers.

Thank you all for the in-laws vibes, which I shall pass to them.

I guess it truly was a good thing you moved to be near them.

DR JANE so glad you like your new doctor!

Yes - I liked the video too.  I may go back and watch it again.  I knew that Don Grady was a Mouseketeer on the blue team - but I had never seen him dance.  He was very good, too.

Can’t remember if I posted this, but I recently found Don Grady’s solo LP on Elektra under his real name, Don Agrati, and it’s so good! He wrote all the songs. Just good LA pop of it’s time.

If you did I don't remember.  I'm glad you mentioned it.

I loved that in Oregon you are not permitted to pump your own gas.  Now that we only have one car I have never needed to pump gas since we moved here.  I hope that never changes.

I’ve got bad news for you. That law was repealed in 2023.

True though we haven't been there.  It wasn't totally repealed.  They still offer an option to have it pumped for you.

Got the car back and thankfully it had stopped raining just prior to me walking back there. Turns out, it's the sensors or something in the front seat belts that triggered this. It's safe to drive, but it will occasionally give me the error message. They'll need to replace the front seat belts, program them, etc. Cost? Over two grand. Not today, Josephine.

Today, I was able to get an electrician and he fixed the problem with the power!  For only $600 and change! :o

I'm glad the problem is fixed though sorry for the cost.

It possibly could've been as much as $1300, so there's that.

$600 is much better.

A well-known accounting principle is that if you can get the exact same service for $600 instead of $1,300, that's a good deal. :)

It wouldn't have been the same service.  His $1300 estimate was based on what possibly could've been the worst situation, then he only charges what he actually finds.

At least he let you know what could happen.  Did you learn anything watching him fix it?  I wouldn't have but then I am not handy like you are.

The day is a blur.

Don't know why but it was busier for me than usual.  My day culminated in a visit with my cousin Debra at her home where she sits daily with her granddaughter Audrey, who  is 4.  Debra takes Audrey to "school" (a class for 3-year-olds in a private school) each morning  and picks her up shortly after 2 p.m.

Anyway, I wanted to give Debra some oranges (Honeybells).  It got me out of the house, and I had a nice visit with her and Audrey who presented me with a handful of dandelions she had picked for me!

Before I left, Audrey's dad, Evan, arrived to get the baby seat from Debra's car.  He was going to pick up his son, Levi, who will be 1 in April.  Levi is at a baby sitter each day.  His mother, Becky, usually picks him up but she has had a couple of long days at work as a NP working in an OR.  Today is one of those days.

On my way back home, I stopped at The Chicken Place in Johnston (yes, that's the name) and got three wings, cole slaw and a large unsweet iced tea for my supper.  It was good.

How any of that contributed to the blur, but there it was.   Oddly, I felt better today than I have in a long time.  I want to  attribute that to the recent medication dosage adjustment my doctor and I implemented late last week.

That's my story, and I'm sticking to it!

P.S.

Debra has a hen and rooster.  She gave me four fresh eggs!!

And oddly, she has four chicks in her house that she is nurturing for her daughter, Becky, until they get big enough to live in a coop.  They are in a large container and there is a heat lamp to keep them warm.  Audrey loves those chicks, and Debra has her hands full keeping Audrey out of that container because she has to hold each one of them every time she enters the room where they are  kept.

Sounds like a lovely day.

So great if the recent medication dosage adjustment helped!

Sweet.  I love fresh eggs.  My suggestion is to eat them scrambled or your favorite way to have them somewhat plain.

I don't remember Cliff Notes in our home.

I do remember her falling asleep after asking me to read The Call of the Wild.  While she slept I read to the end.  Thank goodness it isn't a long book.
