Just in a few minutes ago from seeing "Rebel Without a Cause" with DR Ben. Interesting flick. Poor Sal Mineo - there was no way to hide his homosexual tendencies...

Oh! And congrats to Ben for finally winning a prize at the movie! He got to go to the front of the auditorium and chat with THE Hedda Lettuce before picking up his prize. I'll let him tell you what he won...

Had a great evening watching TV. First up was ALIAS which was somewhat better than the previous couple of weeks. I actually enjoyed it.

Spoiler question - can someone explain the purpose of showing us the lipstick and then her dropping it and it not coming into play?

Next up was CSI.

Oh, my! George Eads has grown a mustache, and it does look dashing on him, too!

The episode is a two-parter to be concluded next week. A lot happened that we were only privy to some of. Explanations and the complete scenario I'm sure will be provided next week. Should be an interesting wrap-up.

WITHOUT A TRACE had an interesting case tonight, too, as NYPD BLUE's Gordon Clapp goes looking for a child who's being used in kiddie porn.

The world can be a wicked place.

I finished the evening by watching tonight's WILL & GRACE. Again, like ALIAS, a moderately better episode than the last couple, but the laughs were still pretty feeble. Harry Connick, Jr. returned as Grace's ex-husband Leo and there was still some attraction there.

One wonders how the writers are going to handle this potential for the two of them to reunite. Since this is the final season, they might want to have Grace's messy love life at least set off on a potentially stable path.

But what for Will? At least there wasn't any indication this week that the writers are considering pairing Will and Jack for the end of the series. For the last several episodes, there have been clues to that effect, and if it happens, it will NOT make me a happy camper.

Tomorrow I am going with a friend to Winston-Salem for the evening to see another friend perform in WALKING ACROSS EGYPT. I've never seen this play, have no idea what it's about although there is a film version of it out there.

We're leaving mid-afternoon tomorrow, so I will be E&T tomorrow from mid-afternoon until some time on Saturday. The friend I'm staying with overnight does have a computer, and if I get the chance, I'll try to log on, but if it's not possible, I'll be back Saturday.

JRand - I know what you mean about people we know winning things.  It's like that line in FIDDLER "We know that when good fortune favors two such men it stands to raeson we deserve it too."

I'm posting this from a very strnage-looking AOL screen, since Explorer is acting up again.  If you're reading this, it worked.

Don't know the play either, DR MATTH - although I have heard of it.

Hmmmmm......

Time for bed.  GODSPELL was okay.  It could have been MUCH worse...there were several bright spots.

AOL has certainly been working just fine for me lately. No problems at all with the service.

I wish I could say as much for that idiotic AOL netmarket.com scam they've got going. Hopefully, that's behind me, but I'll still be watching my credit card charges VERY carefully in December to make sure they don't try to pull a fast one.

Jose - Please send Kay Walbye love from Fred and Skip.  She's done readings and workshops with Skip, and used to live in our building.

Also, Matt Bogart was in one of Skip's shows about 15 years ago, BLANCO at Goodspeed (Matt was VERY young then), and John Leslie Wolfe was also in one of Skip's shows (TIME AND AGAIN in San Diego).

The problem with buxom (IF there's a problem with buxom) is that the dictionary definition also says "plump."

Dear reader Joy's definition of nubile (at least in today's vernacular) as young, attractive, and juicy, completely applies to the character in my play and Miss Minoff who will be playing said character.  So, nubile it is.  I ran that by Tammy and her mother and they both liked it very much.  So, I'll be changing it in the script tomorrow.

Will do.  -And I have to say that in the few days that I've been working with Kay, she's quickly becoming one my favorite people.

Well, 8:00 came a bit too "early" for me this morning, and I have a feeling it will be "early" again for me tomorrow morning.  However, at least since tomorrow is a holiday, the morning rush hour traffic should not be too bad.  Alas, no mail. And the banks are closed too.  Ah, well...

But before I go...

"Nubile" has always had a very "young" connotation to me.  And I've usually heard it applied to young women who have just entered adolescence, have just "blossomed".  Consequently, it can also be a bit smarmy depending on the situation.

Well... That's my experience with the word.

OK... Well...

-And what was that whole gospel choir bit with Steve Martin on Letterman all about?  What happened to a good old-fashioned, semi-impromptu interview?

In any case...

Goodnight.

I know how you feel. ;)

I've never been a "scent" kind of guy.  I'd been given a bottle of Pierre Cardin (can't remember from whom) but I've never worn it.  At work, we have a scent-free place and several co-workers are very scent-sensitive.  One time (on total impulse), I bought a set of colognes, "Cuba," which has four different scents and are in cigar shaped bottles.  I actually like a couple of them, but like I mentioned, at work, we've got a scent-free policy.

I also have (and like) Old Spice.  My dad used to wear English Leather but I really don't like that at all.
