To keep it short the holdup is with the cabinets.  The installer is VERY slow.  All is not as it should be and more cabinets and pieces had to be ordered.  On the upside they look beautiful.

My dear mother, may she rest in peace, was from Toledo, Ohio - where Velveeta is stocked in the gourmet foods department...

Ozman will be in Seattle & Portland.

LOL-You tell Bill that.  The problem is a combination of errors with the designer, the cabinet company, and an installation error that is easily fixed.

Penny is that really true about Toledo?  I don't believe Keith's mother eats Velveeta. ;D

Speaking of Toledo and small worlds (Penny's mother & Keith's aunt were friends back in Toledo), Keith's Aunt Roberta and my brother play bridge at the same club and in fact were playing together the other day.  She recognized my brother's name.

While I've been rehearsing with Miss Annette Cardona (Cha Cha) and you've all been discussing cheese - we achieved our new plateau: 160,000 posts, quite an achievement.  I shall shortly be on my way to the Wood of Holly for dinner at Musso and Frank.

Where in tarnation IS everyone?  Rehearsal took longer (everyone was late), but we decided on Annette's second number, and we got down Been A Long Day.  And now, I shall be on my way to Musso and Frank, and I'd best have some posts to read upon my returning.

Some of us have been on the phone chatting with our mothers.  One of us, anyway.

Got to keep up with what's happening in Johnston, SC, ya know!

Before that I revisited the expanded "Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring" and had myself a fine old time.

Congratulations on the turnout for your signing, BK!

What a terrific crowd!

Well, I just made plans to see RENT (the movie) with my 17 year old niece next Friday.  I'll be up there for Thanksgiving and I know it will be showing, so I hope she likes it....

It was so nice and warm in the house and cold outside, that I decided not to go to a movie today. So I'm sitting here watching FoodTV and getting very hungry for Thanksgiving food.  I know what we'll have on Thursday, so I'm thinking tomorrow I may make a Jenny -O Turkey roast and the dishes I like, but know we won't be having at my brother's house. Hmmm that sounds fun!

Had a great time finishing LOVE ME OR LEAVE ME first off tonight. It's always been one of my favorite Doris Day movies, and the entertainment qualities it offers are superb.

Then came MYSTERIOUS SKIN which was quite a touching and unusual film. I can't say it's my favorite gay-themed movie, but it certainly is right up there among the top five or six. Beautifully done with lots of familiar faces.

FInished out the evening with BIRTH, a psychological mystery with a haunting ending. Again, lots of familiar faces in addition to Nicole Kidman: Lauren Bacall, Danny Huston, Anne Heche, Zoe Caldwell.

That made two movies tonight that ending very hauntingly.

I guess that means that LIFEBOAT will be one of my DVDs for tomorrow. Hoping this Fox edition lives up to their usual good work, though I remain cautious because the film has always looked pretty rough on TV and I'm not sure what kind of shape the film elements were in for them to draw from.

Books were flying outta the store.
I hope the books had flying licences.  Glendale police are very strict about licences.

I'm back from HARRY POTTER AND THE GOBLET OF FIRE.   The book tore my heart out at the finish, and the movie didn't.  I did like it.  On the plus side, it's quite wonderful, and different from the first three in musical score and tone, and the new cast additions are wonderful.  I think Frances de la Tour wins the Edna Mae Oliver lookalike award, and I wish she and Robbie Coltrane would remake THE PENGUIN POOL MYSTERY.

The previews for KING KONG look amazing, and we - Charlotte and I - can't wait to see it.  On Tuesday night, Charlotte and I have a date for PRIDE AND PREJUDICE, then she and her family abandon me for Thanksgiving.

Hope everyone enjoys the rest of the evening.

Hello, everyone! Thank you all so much for the wonderful birthday wishes. I really appreciate it - it's nice to know there are so many people around the world (!) who care. :)

Today was quite wonderful - full of phone calls from friends and loved ones (every call, unfortunately, was missed, so I had a lot of messages) and a day full of theatre. SEE WHAT I WANNA SEE was very good, though this time around I enjoyed the first act more than the second. Go figure. THE COLOR PURPLE was wonderful - again. Many changes still being made, 99% of which work to make the story much clearer. And I cried again. I may be seeing it again in 2 weeks. :D

And now I'm eating my dinner and watching some TV before I head to bed. This birthday truly has been a good one, and I have most of you to thank for it...
