DR MattH, I will be interested to note if you can get through the SINGING DETECTIVE.  I begged my sister to tape this for me quite a while ago.  But I hated every second of it and could not even get through more than 40 minutes of it. :(

Here's a side topic for everyone:  what are your favorite live recordings?

I'm listening to Bette Midler's LIVE AT LAST and it's a joy ride!  Another favorite was last year's Green Day release BULLET IN A BIBLE, which was one of the most exciting recordings I've ever heard.

I agree about the Midler; I've loved it since it first came out of CD.  I'm also fond of the Sondheim scrabble-cover Tribute.

Did you watch the brilliant original Dennis Potter BBC version with Michael Gambon?

Speaking of the imaginative Dennis Potter, when oh when will DREAMCHILD land on DVD?

Another fun live Midler is Mud Will be Flung Tonight. Still makes me laugh. I like Barbara Cook's Live in London recording from 1994

Another amazing live recording is Pete Seeger We Shall Overcome: The Complete Carnegie Hall Concert. It was done June 8, 1963 and it is still a brilliant night. I love this CD.

Obscure favorite live recording:  Bossa Rio Live at Expo '70.  This was the side group Sergio Mendes formed to be his exclusive opening act at the height of Brasil '66's popularity.  Bossa Rio featured his future wife (and future Brasil '77 et al vocalist) Gracinha Leporace, as well as Bossa Nova heartthrob Pery Ribiero, and the phenomenal blind Brasilian pianist Manfredo Fest (augmented on this live recording by the legendary Joao Donato).  While Brasil '66's live recording at Expo is ragged, to say the least (it sounds like they were all out the night before drinking way too much Saki ;)), Bossa Rio's is elegant and a major groove.  Very rare, but hopefully destined for CD release someday.  (Their second and last US release, Alegria, just made it to import CD last week).

Have any DR's who follow the show biz media more closely than I seen any reviews of Jonathan Pryce as John Lithgow's replacement in Dirty Rotten Scoundrels?

I had Varorium, but it kept breaking down and no one could fix it because the dealer went out of business, so I traded it in for a Mercury.

Great photos!  Loved seeing the stars of DECEIT and all the guests!  Hi, Panni!

One person in the photos (not in the cast) caught my eye immediately.  She must become a BIG STAR right now and get the lead in a TV series.  The world must come to know the lovely Missy Becker!  Whew!  What a beautiful gal!

Good Morning!  Good Afternoon!

I slept in too, but I guess I needed the sleep/rest...

It has indeed turned into a very spring-like day, and I shall be heading out shortly for my run... Just need to decide where to run today... Rock Creek Park... The Mall... Time to check out runroutes.com and favoriterun.com.

*Hmm.. runroutes.com seems to be down right now.  ???

Elmore, I agree whole-heartedly THE SINGING DETECTIVE original Brit mini-series with the magnificent Michael Gambon is brilliant!

BK, love the DECEIT site.  My only complaint is there should be more pictures of a scantily-clad Ms. Minoff on it, please!...No, really, PLEASE!

Sorry, I been E & T a lot lately.  Have been loading in the library the past week.  It looks wonderful!
