Yesterday, DR Rodzinksi posted:

Quote
ust want it known that I did not edit that Playbill!

In fact, those pages came to our guy "camera-ready" from the production, and the letters appeared in all proofs until the book printed. A rather mysterious thing, that.

It really is such a strange "error".  However, I noticed that in one place where there is white lettering on a black background, there is a very faint ghost image of the "missing" letter - a "Y" in this case.

I would be interested in finding out if a "culprit" is every found.

Had a nice afternoon of video watching while I did other chores (laundry, dishwashing, etc.)

Started with another CSI episode (only one more left and that season's episodes will be complete).

This was the one that dealt with a SHerlock Holmes society in which the member playing Holmes was found murdered. An offbeat and very entertaining episode with a mystery fully worthy of the Master.

Next up was an episode of FIREFLY involving "reivers," cannibalistic humans who catch their well-intentioned victims by pretending to be in dire peril and in need of rescue. Much entertaining episode.

And, no, the ghost of Steve McQueen was not a guest star on the "reiver" episode.

Then, I put in a MISS MARPLE telefilm I don't seem to watch as often as the others - THE MOVING FINGER. The book was probably my least liked Miss Marple mystery, but the TV adaptation was very entertaining.

I will probably watch the one remaining CSI episode - entitled "Snakes" with George Eads playing a leading role (and providing commentary on the DVD) - before COLD CASE this evening.

Then, I'll be finding a film in the to-watch stack to watch for the reamining two hours of the evening. Don't know what that will be at this time.

I don't watch DANCING WITH THE STARS or GREY'S ANATOMY, nor am I curious about the closing ceremonies of the Olympics, so I'll find something else to view.

OMG! Just reading Steven Suskin's column at Playbill about recent DVDs of interest, and in describing THE CHAMP, he refers to it as starring Wallace Beery and the young Jackie Coogan! Maybe your average person on the street doesn't know the difference between Jackie Coogan and Jackie Cooper, but he certainly should!

Sounds like the show went well....and the new hair cut is stunning.

I find that wearing a nice wig while giving notes is a great way to get the full attention of the cast and crew.

That it would!!

My grandmother lived to 99 and one month shy of her 100th birthday. We were all so sure she'd have no trouble getting to 100, and then she got pneumonia, and at that age, she just couldn't fight it.

But congrats to these folks for their achieving such goals!

I was just reading a review of the DVD of YOUNG MR. LINCOLN, a Fox film that Fox turned over to Criterion to package and release.

One wonders why Fox would turn one of its real gems (directed by John Ford) over to Criterion when they've done just fine with a wide range of their own classics under their own label (and a quite a bit less money to the consumer).

I'm sure the Criterion disc is superb, but I just found it odd that Fox wouldn't want to package and distribute one of its own which might gain it great acclaim. This is one of the greats.

Sunday morning greetings!   Today is a one-day weekend for me.  DH Richard and I will go to church in Cincinnati, have lunch and a brief visit with DS Rob, and then go to a concert by The King's Singers.  They are performing at St. Peter in Chains Cathedral - a place I'm ashamed to say I've never visited in the 33 years I've lived in the area.

Sending vibes to:  DR Danise for continued recovery, DR Joy for dreams come true, DR Jason 'cause I miss him, and all the DRs who are feeling under the weather.

Requesting vibes for:  my mother-in-law, age 89, who's back in the hospital.  We'll check on her before we take off for Cincinnati.

Ginny,
[move=right,scroll,6,transparent,100%]~~~~Healing Vibes for MIL~~~~[/move]

I LOVE the King's Singers!!!

BTW, I was at the HTF a little while ago reading Joe Caps spewing venom about the sound mixes on the CAMELOT and MY FAIR LADY DVDs. Are they really so awful?

I've got to do something about der Brucer's hobby, feeding the birds.  The side yard looks like something out of Hitchcock.
