I got WILD STRAWBERRIES in the mail from Deep Dicount DVD today. I ordered it back when they had their Criterions on sale but it had to be back ordered.

If SMILES OF A SUMMER NIGHT isn't my favorite Ingmar Bergman film, this one is.

Oh you're preaching to the choir my friend!!

I didn't mean to preach.

It's just that I've been sort of wound up since I heard Dubya's whiny voice on a radio news show in which he was condescendingly explaining to us children how it was all legitimate and okay with him.

My favorite era for clothing is the latter half of the 1950s...the cut of the clothes, and the material are very flattering on both the men and the women.

DR Jose, "I Wanna Get Married" was originally sung by Gertrude Niesen in the show "Follow the Girls," I believe.

Well, I had my concerned email from DR Ginny, and I am okay.  For some reason - hybernatorial, health, depression(?), q'est que-ce - I don't know, I could not/did not want to leave my bed this morning.  So around 10:45, I decided to rise, see what fresh hell awaits, and go from there.  I spent about an hour transferring email files and now I have to work on the new Babes in Toyland libretto for a while with the three 1903-1908 versions.

TOD:  look at my photos, look at this body, haute couture and I were never chums.  Even at my best dressed people think I've just arrived from my coal barge.

Hi everyone!

I've been doing a LOT of sleeping the past couple of days but I finely am starting to feel pretty good.

I'm off of the pain pills (which I think was causing the aforesaid LOT of sleeping).   I still slept in until about ten thirty and am yawning as I type this sooo a nap may be in my near future.

I hope everyone is doing well.

I'm up, I'm up.  I see bits of blue sky trying to peek through the gray, so perhaps our "storm" is short-lived.

I'm hoping you are sending it this way!

It's very good to read that you are feeling better, Danise.

Don't rush anything, either.  I know hospitals like to to do fast turnarounds in getting patients out the door following surgeries, but that doesn't mean the patient needs to resume normalcy right away!  HEAL and rest and come back stronger than ever!

DR elmore - Thanks for the info.

-And I guess since I actually got out of bed before Noon today - well, even before 9:00! - I guess you could blame me for your late start today.

One thing about daytime TV.  It sucks.  I'm watching the old Battlestar Galactica on the Sci Fi channel right now.  "The Gun on Ice Planet Zero".

I think I'm going to change over to the things I Tivoed over the past few days.

Geez, I wish you could dub the skating events from the past two weeks at the Olympics onto DVD-Rs for me.

I have the tapes, the DVD-Rs and the machine...what it takes is time, time, time...and patience....

I've done the opening ceremony, a special DVD on "Olympic Ice" and all the pairs, short and long programs.

I've still got the long and short men's, the three ice dancing programs and the women's programs to do.

And I'm only doing the top-level skaters...but it takes "real time" and forever.

LOL, DR Ron Pulliam!  Years ago, when we bought a small TV for our guest room, my husband and son told me it was the "figure skating television."  Do you have a complete collection of the Olympic Ice programs?  I only saw a few of them and would love to see the whole series.  Can you duplicate the DVD?

Just finished watching Bride & Prejudice, which I loved!  It was the perfect thing to do on my "recovery" day.

I am glad you enjoyed if DR Ginny! I wish my sister and brother-in-law would return my copy...they can't seem to find it. They didn't care much for the movie....my sister, evidently, doesn't "get" musicals...I think I will have to disown her.

I have this year's Olympics that I'm transferring to DVD-R. Whether I can figure out how to dub one copy from another is yet to be seen!

Well I have figured out a way to post from the World of Wisdom where nothing is happening today....nada, nyet.

Well a little bit, but not much.

VIBES for DRS MBARNUM, DtM, and CP.....and for DR DANISE.

Tonight is THE AMAZING RACE which should make everyone feel better - except the team that gets eliminated.

When I was little and saw them on TV, and my sister had some paper dolls, I was convinced that Marge & Gower Champion were brother and sister because I never saw them be romantic at all.  They were more of a dance team, I guess, than a dance couple.....

DRMBARNUM - Monica didn't die in CARAVAN, did she?  The last I saw of her she was tied up and rolled off the bed onto the floor....but I might have missed something.  She had a great number that could have taught Ann-Margret a thing or two....and she did get the DVD cover picture!
