Elmore I re-read your original post.  You are so kind not to have said you already mentioned the automated teller.   :)

Personally I think it is safer you didn't mail the package today.

Nursie, I'm often too busy publicly humiliating myself to do it to another!
Oh, wait!  I publicly humiliate DR MBarnum all the time.  Never mind.

Why is it safer to wait till Thursday?

Just with all the mail going out right now, I imagine it couldn't hurt to send the package later in the week.

That is SOOO Exciting ;)

I'm also smiling because the lump I saw on Callie's lip is normal!!!!! Yee and HA! The vet said he wouldn't charge me for normal, but that next time Callie goes in she should take him a Blizzard from Dairy Queen. He is one of 3 vets  that worked very hard a year and a half ago saving Callie's life, so he's happy that I take her in for every little concern.

All this talk about banks and ATMs reminds me I have no cash and I haven't put new checks in my checkbook. Better run to the ATM before we go to dinner tonight.   The vet appointment made things perfect today. I had to leave after lunch so they are shopping away and I am not.

Back from lunch.  A passable, but wouldn't-do-it-again, sweet 'n' sour chicken with rice and steamed veggies.  There was a sweet sauce poured over a grilled chicken breast...I never figured out what the sour was.

Still, it filled me up.

This day has been relatively quiet, all things considered.

I don't want to let my guard down lest some fershluganah crinkum-crankum problem arises to ruin it all.

I like the smell of Brut. I think it's a very clean smell.

Back when James Bond was very, very big (mid 1960s), there was a 007 cologne that my brother had, and I quite liked the scent of it.

Got the shows I recorded last night watched. First up was a disturbing episode of LAW & ORDER: CRIMINAL INTENT having to do with a method actor. Very creepy, queasy episode.

THE SOPRANOS

spoiler (since bk is often a week behind in his viewing)

dealt with the fallout of Vito being discovered as a gay Mafioso. Part of it was indeed comic, these men who kiss and hug each other as a sign of respect, saying how unnatural it is for men to kiss. I like that Tony is trying to be the voice of reason. Interesting episode.

I have a friend whose body chemistry mixed with Brut smelled like Ajax.

I told him this in college the first time he wore it, and he got furious with me.

When he met his girl friend, she asked him whether he'd been cleaning sinks and toilets 'cause he smelled like Ajax cleanser (I wasn't there...but heard it from another person who was).  I was mighty tickled.  He was mighty pissed.

And he continued wearing it to spite everyone who thought it stankl.

COntinued with HARRY POTTER AND THE SORCEROR'S STONE, but didn't get a lot more watched since we had a storm advisory, and I thought it would be expedient to shut down electronics. I read for awhile until the storm passed.

We had high winds but just a touch of rain, and now except for the wet pavement, you'd never know there had been any disturbance. It's gorgeous outside.

Can we just put CRINKUM CRANKUM into the Archies' hit song "Jingle Jangle"

Sing me, sing me, sing me
Sing me, sing me baby
Oooooooh!

Uh!

La da da lada da
Sing me, sing me, sing me yeah
La da da lada da
Sing the Crinkum Crankum song
La da da lada da
Sing me, sing me, baby yeah
La da da lada da

Ever since I metcha, I couldn't wantcha better
I couldn't love you stronger if I tried
It's my true heart I'm showin' or my nose would be growin'
You know that it gets longer when I lie
Singin'...

La da da lada da
Sing me, sing me, sing me yeah
La da da lada da
Sing the Crinkum Crankum song
La da da lada da
Oo! sing me, baby yeah
La da da lada da

Bein' kinda pretty and down here in the city
You'll find it isn't easy to be smart
When tryin' to untangle the crinkum from the crankum
It's easy if you listen with your heart
Singin'

La da da lada da
Sing me, sing me, sing me yeah
La da da lada da
Sing the Crinkum Crankum song
La da da lada da
Sing me, sing me, baby yeah
La da da lada da

You'll make the winter springtime and crinkum crankum sing time
Right on through the summer and the fall
So darlin' don't be weepin' and please don't you be sleepin'
When I come a creepin' down the hall
Singin'

La da da lada da
Sing me, sing me, sing me yeah
La da da lada da

male: Oh come on
baritone: Oh come on
female: Baby get it together
male: Oh ho come on
baritone: Oh come one
female: Ooh, yeah yeah yeah, yeah
male: Woah c'mon!
baritone: Oh come on
female: Baby get it together
male Woah, come on
baritone: Oh come on
all together: C'mon c'mon c'mon c'mon
Come on

La da da lada da
Sing the Crinkum Crankum song
La da da lada da
Oo!, sing me, baby yeah
La da da lada da
Sing the Crinkum Crankum song
La da da lada da
Oo!, sing me, baby yeah
La da da lada da

Except for that rhyme with "untangle," that song works pretty well.  :)

Do you realize that if you replace every curse word you might feel like saying with the words "crinkum crankum", you'll still make sense, plus you'll be adding some depth to your frustrations?

Heading down a bit earlier today because I want to rearrange a video shelf to clear out some laserdiscs that have been duplicated on DVD and thus have more space for DVD storage. This will be a major undertaking.

Warning - RANT coming up:

What is it with the world we live in?  What is it with stupid, weak, ignorant sons-of-bitches who have to make things difficult for others by their selfish inane behavior?  What has already happened in Oregon has now happened here - they no longer sell Actifed on the shelves - you have to now go to the drug department and buy from them, and if, heaven forbid, you run out after that department is closed, you're out of luck.  Supermarkets no longer sell Actifed.  And why?  Because there's some ingredient that stupid peckerheads can use in combination with other ingredients to make some drug or for a free-base concoction or something like that.  I don't really care if these rectal cretins kill themselves with their crap, but when it impacts others' ability to buy something they actually need for the purpose that the medicine is intended, then I get angry - really angry.  I can only wish each and every one of these sickening mofos (MOFOS, in Internet lingo) a slow, lingering demise into oblivion - well, make that a fast demise into oblivion.

Part two of the rant has to do with Highland, a street in Hollywood, that has always been one of the worst traffic-laden streets in LA.  When they built that grotesque monstrosity known as Hollywood+Highland, the developers assured everyone that the traffic on Highland would not get worse, that the design, in fact, would help the flow of the traffic.  Well, big surprise - they lied.  From the time I got off the freeway at Highland it took me fifteen minutes to get to the entrance to the Renaissance Hotel.  Normally, that would be a one minute ride.  And no one cares.  On top of that annoyance, I turned to go into the parking structure, and there was a huge truck blocking BOTH lanes to go in.  Five cars had to sit there and wait until the yokel finally realized what he'd done and pulled his truck over to the right so that we could all BARELY make it down the second lane.  As I passed him I gave him a piece of my mind.  For what I have no idea, since he looked like an ignoramus who wouldn't have understood one word of the English that was being spoken to him.

End of rant.
