One more story for the memoirs.
I hope it's today.
Tuesday morning greetings! We had a very quiet holiday weekend, the highlight of which was Fr. Richard conducting the service at his church in Dayton. It was his 4th Sunday in a row of being up front in various churches (vacation season, you know) and he’s pretty tired this week.
This seems to be something that really happened.

Mega vibes, xylophones and prayers for BK.
Dick Cavett looks frail here, but he’s mentally sharp.

Never having had children, I can only assume that this is an appropriate suggestion. :D

H suspect Trump is too much hated to ever get near a Nobel Prize.

Of course he would. My feeling for him are almost as strong as my feelings for our president.
DR Freddie - just read that there will be on further (and final) season of Grantchester, beyond the current one.

I have just replied to your reply. :)
Now this is exciting! Scarlett was our leading lady for the Encores! The New Yorkers.

A love that knows no bounds. Because it doesn’t even begin.
Morning congestion, of course, but I'm hoping once that clears up that things are a bit better, unlike yesterday.
TOD: The worst would be having sepsis in June 2019, where I went to the ER with Skip on a Monday and after a few tests, was told by the doctor that I had to have surgery right away that evening, no time to think about it or get a second opinion.

Is Penelope Wilton playing Mrs. Higgins? Good casting.
I keep waiting for the stupid idiot to text something about the Noble Piece Price.

Yikes, Fred. What was the cause? (If you’d care to share)
Very sweet cats, Jane!

A UTI and a stone were involved, and a stent had to be put in.
The hospital was not in my insurance plan, but was the closest to our home - and the insurance company was clearly convinced of the level of emergency, because they accepted the initial round of hospital and surgery costs without questioning anything.
Or possibly, I had a very good health insurance plan in 2019.

You were lucky with the insurance, and the good care you received.
Looks like Max changing the name back to HBO Max will be official this week.

We were prepared to have to pay up to 20% of the bill, but what I was billed was less than 20%, so I didn't analyze it, just happily paid it.

Reading through the serious medical situations that all us DRs have weathered leaves me feeling... grateful.

We just got an email from our health insurance company saying that the contract with our doctor's office expires at the end of this month. Hopefully they will come to an agreement. Because our doctor is part of one of the three conglomerates that perform all the health care in town.
One of my favorite things each year is being asked by Bruce to proofread his books. This year, I feel doubly fortunate since he's written a second book. I won't reveal anything about it, except to say that it moved me very deeply. And yes, this old curmudgeon even shed a tear or two on more than one occasion. It's the most heart-felt book of his that I've read, and I've read all but a couple of the early ones.
I had a lovely evening on the Guadalupe tonight. Dinner with friends outdoors at the Gristmill, a wonderful restaurant with the likes of chicken-fried steak, beef tenderloin salad and chicken topped with queso and salsa. I, of course, had trout. Oh well.
Had faux chicken stroganoff for food - very good.
Today and even this evening were much better than yesterday. Voice is a bit stronger. Vaporizer arrived but I haven't set it up yet. I'll probably do that tomorrow.
They had a pair of musicians playing in the courtyard there, so we listened to them. They were fun, old-time rock. Tom Petty stuff. Plus, "If I Only Had a Heart" from The Wizard of Oz.
The drive home was horrible, however, as most of I-35 had been reduced from five lanes to one, causing an hour or more delay in the traffic.
More vibes for BK.
Unlimited Data - that's the title of my next novel.
