DR JANE that sounds like a much more complicated and less efficient way to get a book....and much more work for the liberry.

It was how it was done when I first began using overdrive. Then I had the option to either automatically borrow the books or receive a reminder and immediately requested they automatically borrow.

I will get a couple of extra days extra to read books now, if I have access to wifi, and if I remember to borrow them-lol.

DR Jane, a senior movie ticket is $13.49 at present.

We normally pay $7.15 for a Sunday matinee, more if we were to go at night.

DR Ginny, we saw The Queen on one of my 2006 visits to see my dad before he died, but I cannot remember what season it was!

Well, I was going to say July or November, because it was when Richard was in Wisconsin for his quarterly seminary residency.  IMDB says the movie was released in the US on November 17, 2006, so it must have been then.  I think we also saw The Devil Wears Prada in the summer of 2006.

It was the week before Thanksgiving.  I wasn't in Ohio on Thanksgiving day, and Jo had the big dinner on the Sunday before I flew back to New York.

At the mail place, this absolute moron was sending 100 surgical masks to friends in NY and bragging about how he cleaned out all the stores near him.  I mean, those mask are not going to protect anyone and the hysteria that Facebook is drumming up, fueled by the media, is causing a lot of unnecessary panic and causing people like this guy to behave like idiots.

I actually think that this is much better. Otherwise people could be getting the ebooks for 3 weeks when they aren't even going to read them. Some people could be reserving a lot of ebooks. This way the library knows that the person actually plans to read the book. Just get in the habit of checking your account every day.

I agree.  It just makes it hard for me.  This was how books were originally checked out, and I missed a number of them.  I remember having to ask Craig to check out a few books for me since I couldn't access them.

Fortunately wifi is more available when we travel than it used to be, still we have been without it for days at a time when we travel.

Can you just delay the books likely to be released to you while you are on vacation?

Waiting to usher for s pops concert of movie music. A lot sounds ponderous, but a few sound interesting. A great Westerns suite and Peter Gunn.

Have been with Grant all afternoon, and we took a food break - Marie Callender's - I had the salad bar and didn't overdo it.

The interior of the book is finished, photos look great and it's finalized, although I'll give it a quick once-over when I get home this evening.

I do my best to delay books at home and while I am traveling if I have too many to read.  Too often while I think I have delayed the book it comes in sooner than I expected.  Yes, I will try to delay books for a longer time period if I am traveling.

I definitely overdid dinner tonight.  We went to Beaches and Keith said he was going to order the salmon burger, which means bread, fries, and coleslaw.  I couldn't resist and ordered it with coleslaw INSTEAD of fries.  Keith changed my order to a few fries and then ordered the lower calorie salad for his dinner.  Of course mine came with a full order of fries along with the extra coleslaw.  Keith didn't help me at all with the coleslaw and ate very few fries.  >:( ;D

The bartender, who was not actually bartending when we ordered our drinks, made Keith's Manhattan for him and gave me a very generous serving of Glenlevit.  She delivered our drinks & chatted a bit.  We had no clue, however, she was very exciting to share the number of days she has gone without alcohol.  She has been attending AA and, understandably, very proud of herself.

Some moron on Facebook posts a headline that reads: Disneyland closing because of Coronavirus.  Feeding hysteria, is the idea, of course, since the headline doesn't mention that it's TOKYO Disneyland not here, and this asscrack shared it to make people think it was here.  I called him out on it and I'm about to have one less Facebook friend.  I really cannot stand the stupidity about this thing, it's beyond belief.  Someone else I know actually posted that they'd stocked up on food and dry goods and supplies.  Why?  What the HELL is wrong with everyone?  It's a virus, the flu.  You get the flu, most get better as most have with this thing.  You get the flu and if you're elderly with a failing immune system you die.  And that is what the majority of deaths are attributed to.  No one wants to know facts, they just believe whatever crap comes across their feed.  I'm truly beginning to think that we are at the end of a normal society.

I saw Harry Connick Jr. the other night.  He and his band put on a good show. He sang several Cole Porter songs along with many others, including 3 songs related to his hometown, New Orleans.

The idea about stocking up on food is supposed to be for if you yourself fall ill so that you do not have to go out to the grocery store while you are contagious

Stocking up on supplies, including food, is a good idea virus or not.  I am not as good about it here as I have been in the past.  That means canned & boxed food, not fresh food.

This person should not have explained it was the Tokyo Disneyland from the beginning.  I find it difficult anyone following the news would have believed it was in the States.
