BK’S BABBLE ON

Bruce Kimmel Photograph bk's notes

Well, dear readers, this month is already flying by, like a gazelle doing the hokey-pokey. I gotta tell you. I don’t have any Earth-shattering news to report, but I do have some Pluto-shattering news to report, but I can’t remember what it is. But that will not stop me from babbling on at great length about nothing whatsoever. Yes, Virginia, today’s notes will be BK’s Babble On. What am I, Kenneth Anger all of a sudden? Do you know if Kenneth Anger had become a personal manager, his company would have been named Anger Management? In any case, today’s notes will be BK’s Babble On, and they will have sordid stories of sordid lives with sordid language and other sordid things, such as the underbelly of the belly. Right now, I have an underbelly of the belly, which is why I must diet until the cows come home. I gotta tell you. So, what sordid stories shall I tell? Perhaps I’ll tell the most sordid story of them all – The Randy Vicar and the Pinking Shears. Speaking of the pinking shears, yesterday was a day that was all over the map. For example, the morning was in Maine, while the afternoon was in Georgia, and the evening was in California. I got up quite early, and left the home environment when she of the Evil Eye arrived. I went to the Farmer’s Market and had a soft vanilla ice cream cone, and walked around and saw the sights and smelled the various and sundried foodstuffs. I then went to Virgin Records on the Sunset Strip. I must say, if the chain of Virgin stores lasts longer than another year, I’d be very surprised. There were virtually no people in the store, save for the employees and me. I hung out there for a while, looking at books, thumbing through CDs, and then I left and came back to the home environment. I did some work at the piano, and then finished organizing and cleaning the den, which now looks very spiffy. That leaves only the rest of the living room (I’d already done a bit of it) and the major organization/cleanup of the dining room (I did get through one major pile and managed to throw eight percent of the junk away). And then it was time to toddle off to dinner with the Joneses.

Last night, I had dinner with the Joneses. It’s always a treat to go there, and I actually hadn’t seen them since before I left to do The Brain From Planet X at NYMF. Margaret always makes cozy and warm meals, and last night’s was just that – meat smothered in mushrooms and onions, potatoes, and peas, along with a salad, some rolls, and a very chocolatey dessert. All of it was yummilicious. Their son Ben was there, and we all laughed and laughed and just when we thought we could laugh no more, we laughed again. Ben played his guitar after dinner (he’s pretty much self-taught and very good), and it was just a lovelier than lovely evening all around. We even made up a little ditty about their dog, Quinn, who I call Dr. Quinn, Medicine Dog. After that, I came home, but was too too tired to watch a motion picture on DVD, so instead I just roamed around the Internet and/or sat on my couch like so much fish.

Well, why don’t we all click on the Unseemly Button below because I must think of more sordid stories, such as The Randy Vicar and the Hole In One. Oh, that is a sordid story.

What can I tell you about today? Well, I can tell you that I shall have the day entirely to myself and then some. I can tell you that I shall drive about in my motor car, I shall find something interesting but not too fattening to eat, and I shall watch a DVD or three. Oh, I might do some work on the computer, but not too much. And, of course, I will get to work on the dining room project.

This week has gotten very booked up with such things as my judging some student thing at Hollywood High, several meetings, including one with EQUITY, several meals, a work session, and a bunch of other stuff. I’m tired just thinking about it and frankly it’s all very sordid.

Well, dear readers, I must take the day, I must do the things I do, I must, for example, do whatever I feel like and that’s about it. Today’s topic of discussion: It’s free-for-all day, the day in which you dear readers get to make with the topics and we all get to post about them. So, let’s have loads of lovely topics and loads of lovely postings, shall we, as we wrap up this session of BK’s Babble On.
