From a friend's facebook page.  This photo cracks me up

The photo is very sweet & just what I needed after returning from the funeral of my friend.  I told his wife she looked very brave. For now she is doing better then I expected.

The service was very nice & I found friends to sit with.

Thurber was hung - I'm not touching that with either a ten-foot pole or a five-foot Czech.

Thurber was from my homeland, Columbus Ohio, and went to OSU, like every family member but me.

And I'm sure he must have been a BIG man on campus! :-)

I missed this news about your friend, Jane. Belated condolensces and vibes to the family. It always amazes me how loved ones are able to hold it together at a time like this; I imagine many people are in a state of shock and going through the motions and it sinks in later.

I would love a blizzard but I consumed about a million points last night with the famous Holeman and Finch burger.

http://holeman-finch.com/burger.html

They only make 24 per night and our timing was just right. That plus french fries and fried peach pie and, well, I'm glad I had my cholesterol checked LAST month...it was on the low end of normal.

The famous chef, Linton Hopkins, who owns H&F and several other restaurants, lives in my neighborhood, and H&F is right down the street. We walk past it all the time but this was our first time to eat there. Pretty much everything else on the menu is things like brains, organs, things I couldn't imagine eating. Jose would probably love it.

Thank you Edi.  The family had some time to prepare and as his wife said, "at least he isn't suffering anymore".

Hello everyone,

I've been intending to drop in and say hello to you all for so long, but today, reading Cilla's note on Facebook about DR Ginny was the final push to get me moving.  I practically slumped over when I read that.

Ginny - my thoughts and prayers are with you, and many vibes are being sent your way.  I hope you have a very speedy recovery.

Thank you Larry for posting about your conversation.  It sounds like there is some good news there.

And hello to everyone else.  I hope you are all doing well, and I am going to try to spend a little time today and go back over the last few days and see what everyone's currently up to.

Bruce, I told you they weren't lurking. ;)

DITTO!

DITTO!

DR Julie it is nice to see you.  VIBES on your upcoming showing of Clear Blue Tuesday!

But that isn't nearly as fun or as tasty!!!  I'm fat again. I'll diet when summer is over.  I'm always my heaviest in the summer

Well, let me assure you that they occasionally lurk.  There are ways I have of knowing.  Just assume that I'm not an idiot :)  And I know you think Jose is coming back. :)  Just assume that I am not an idiot.

What a day, weather-wise!  We had a bad storm this afternoon and even rumors of a tornado.  Some of my co-workers called home and heard they had no power.  I was so happy to discover that I had electricity when I go thome.

The temperature has gone down from the high nineties to the mid seventies!

Interesting I usually drop my weight in the summer, except for this year.  I not getting as much exercise as usual & eating too much junk.  I working on changing that.
