I feel opportunity should always be grasped, don't you?

Bruce, ILLYA sounds pretty darn spry for being 42 years old.

I have added my ILLYA DARLING review to Amazon.com and suggested they change the label name.

I shall shortly be on my way to Day Two of Auditions.  I am hoping we have lots of fun people and especially some good men for all of the parts.

We have some possibilities for most roles....but I hate to take people with LOTS of conflicts....such as....not available until May 15!  Then why audition for the show....and ask for a leading role only?

I have added my ILLYA DARLING review to Amazon.com and suggested they change the label name.

Not only are they indicating the incorrect label [the label that was supposed to be releasing this some time back], but also an old release date, and indicating that it was going to be two discs.

But I don't think the title will ever be available via Amazon in any case, so they probably have no incentive to correct the information.

DR George, I'm very sorry you and company did not get to see Wicked yesterday.   I'm sorry you didn't try calling the box office, since you at least knew the seat locations, to see if some arrangement could be made.  I've read of people working with the house manager in some New York theatres under similar circumstances.

I lost tickets one, too. It was at Phoenix Theater's production of "Joseph...Dreamcoat." I remembered exactly where the seats were and that one seat was a child's seat, which they were able to confirm on their seating chart. I had to bring my mastercard statement that proved I paid for tickets, then wait until the house was filled -- except for those seats. Then the usher seated us. DRs Sandra and Megan will remember this.

I made a "ticket box" after that, where ALL the tickets go as soon as they are purchased. Now I know where they are.

We (eventually) thought about that, but we didn't buy the tickets and how would the theater know that we're legitimate.  AND my sister couldn't find the phone number of her co-worker who did buy the tickets.

Well, if she's her co-worker, can't someone at work give her a number? Won't she see her at work?

Too late.  It all happened yesterday (Sunday) morning at 8:30 am.  No one at my sister's work works on a Sunday...state workers, you know. ;)

Thanks.  Late yesterday morning, I went to Costco and had a hot dog, cola and a twist (chocolate AND vanilla) fat-free frozen yogurt.  For dinner, I walked to the local Dairy Queen and had the four-piece chicken strip basket and a Blizzard. :)

They just provide a page and a place for a link confirming the information, so if that is someone's job, they can figure it out.  I did mention Kritzerland in my review just so people would know.

Good Afternoon!

I'm done!!!!!!!!

-Well, at least for today.  I got all the edits entered, checked and re-checked, and, lo and behold, they all make sense musically too!

Whew!

Tomorrow I shall do a bit more work on the actual instrumental parts and settings.

I'm through the first 2-hour round of introductory libretto notes and I need an editor! I feel like I'm arranging TITANIC deck chairs.

DR elmore - If you want to forward me a copy, I'm going to have some free time between cues during my upcoming tech...

Also, the documentary about the casting and creation of the recently closed [but touring] revival of A Chorus Line opens in theatres 17-April.

Is this something that we need?  A documentary following the creation and casting of the original seems far more interesting.

Well... That was part of the original plan when it was going to be a multi-part documentary for HBO, which was supposed to premiere (on HBO) right after the revival opened on Broadway. From what I understand, they were going to follow-up with members of the original cast in conjunction with the casting of their revival-cast counterparts.  Somewhere along the line, the plans changed multiple times.  I believe the whole issue of compensation for members of the original cast - which has since been quietly resolved - was part of the change of plans.  -Which is also why no one is identified in the audio clips presented in the current documentary. At least that's my take on the situation.  *Remember, I was only one of the pianists.

I walked over to the local post office and of course there's only one automatewd postage machine but there were were too many waiting on it. Since I was going to take my walk after the post office trip, I decided to walk down to the 68th Street branch where there are three machines and take care of the walk first. So, I had a brisk walk in the rain!

I love to walk in the rain
Look for me when it's stormy down some leafy lane
And I'll be there
I love to walk in the rain
The lightning may be fright'ning but I love the rain
So I don't care
Sunday Monday Tuesday Wednesday Thursday Friday Saturday
How about a week with every day a pittper-patter day?
I wouldn't complain.

DR George - a number of years ago, the graduate school I attended at The University of Michigan was renamed from School of Library Science to School of Information.  I told my School of Music friends that that's like changing the name of their school to School of Sound.

That was when I stopped contributing money.

JC on the cast recording list has to be the most obtuse person i have ever met. He's like a dog with a bone when it comes to be proven wrong, which is very often. Oy!

I already offered condolences on the Wicked thing.  I was referring to the librarian thing.  :)

Of course in 1947 there were only 256 televisions in the U.S.  Three of them tuned in to the Tony Awards....the others were watching the test pattern.

I wonder which channel carried the TOnys, seeing as how they weren't even locally broadcast in NYC until, what, 1960?

Lunch went well but ran very late. It's starting to cloud up again. I wonder if more rain is on the way? I know colder temperatures are.
