Well, you've read the notes, the notes were in and out of the closet, and now it is time for you to post until the cows come home - they're currently in the closet.

And the word of the day is: CAIRN!
-
Nobody here but us chickens.
-
Welcome five GUESTS.

May your casting of The Brain next week proceed more smoothly than it did the last time around! :)

TOTD:
Supremes - with and without Diana
Four Tops
Marvin Gaye
Jimmy Ruffin
Stevie Wonder
Miracles

TOD
With the exception of The Supremes and The Jackson 5 I couldn;t tell you who recorded for Motown. Add the names from Tomovoz mentioned I still can't find a favorite.

TOD PART 2
Just thought of some artists,
John Rubinstein
Leland Palmer
Ben Vereen
Irene Ryan
Jill Clayburgh

Maybe when DRs JoseSPiano, JMK, and Matthew get really good, they can handle this: ;)

I think both Eve and Sylvia have gone to their rewards...such as they may be.
-
Thanks for the Hollywood Collector's Show reports from DR MBARNUM and MR BK.....sounds like sales were great!
Roberta Shore was interviewed for the extras on THE SHAGGY DOG DVD release and she looks great and was very entertaining to hear. She was also on the commentary track with Tim Considine and Tommy Kirk (I think it was them....).
-
TOD:
The Supremes were the only Motown artists I bought regularly, and then only on 45....I don't think I ever bought a Motown LP.....hmmm.....no I have two, I guess: PIPPIN and THE SUPREMES sing FUNNY GIRL.

The laundry is in and I'm having some coffee. Good morning, all! I have few plans today: LOS Critical Notes, Act One, and a trip to the local fire dept. I want to see the original order they were sent from "downtown." Perhaps t will answer a few questions about Miss Jaymie's involvement.
I watched the second part of PRIDE & PREJUDICE, which was quite wonderful. I think this is my fourth or fifth viewing; I usually watch ithe whole over a period of 2 days. To me, besides being the most faithful adaptation of the novel, which is true as well of Fay Weldon's 1980s BBC adaptation but the A&E/BBC version is better cast than Weldon's, it not only captures best Jane Austen's tone of irony and look at social cruelty - the book's essentially about three miserable marriages leading to two happy ones - but I like the subtext and fleshing out of Darcy's character that writer Andrew Davies provides.
-
Good morning and Good Week, DR ELMORE.
-
I ran to see the movie version of THE WIZ on the day it opened - and just got more and more depressed as the film wore on and on and on....everyone was just .... well charmless and the original story/movie seemed drained of any imagination it had.
And Lena Horne's mouth never matched her playback in glorious closeup or medium shot and she seemed to be have trouble with her dentures.
As my noble Cherokee ancestors might have said: Ugh.
-
a trip to the local fire dept.
I'm glad to know that DR elmore3003 will be saluting New York's finest! ;)

Where did you find that photo of DR MBarnum's last trip to Manhattan?
I've only seen this photo of what happened when he stopped in the gym on 83rd Street.

I just purchased tickets to the local cineplex to see a live, HD broadcast of the Met's new production of Britten's Peter Grimes in March. I've been curious to see how this works, and since I love Britten, I thought this would be a great way to check it out. It's not the same as sitting in the Met, but it's a heck of a lot cheaper, and the theater is only 4 miles from my house.
-
Speaking of BIG BROTHER, I am surprised at how behind they are.
There are things that have happened in the house more than 5 days ago. Major events. That they still have not shown.
I know they like to follow a certain format. ANd show certain things on certain days. But i don't like it when they are so far behind!

Given my feelings on John Doyle as a director, I don't predict much for it.
I was lucky to see the Met's old staging by Tyrone Guthrie with John Vickers around 1985. It was glorious.
I just ran into my super in the basement and we talked about my 40 cartons. I get the impression Miss Jaymie's been on the phone to the fire dept about him in the past as well. Please, someone, disconnect her phone!

Is anybody else looking forward to watching last year's COMPANY on PBS this Wednesday?
-
Is anybody else looking forward to watching last year's COMPANY on PBS this Wednesday?
Those of us who love Sondheim and COMPANY certainly are!
-
In fact, I'm wearing a COMPANY sweatshirt right now that was done when I played Harry in a production in the early 1990s.
-
Good morning!
Warm here. It got to 70 yesterday, and it felt like the temperature didn't drop much overnight because it was very mild this morning when I went out to get the newspaper.
-
I think THE WIZ has one of the worst books for a Tony-winning Best Musical in the history of the awards. The score has some wonderful music, but that book is really bad. Wisely, even though the show won 7 Tonys, Best Book wasn't one of them. SHENANDOAH rightly won Best Book that year.
The film is just awful in every respect. Ted Ross, who won the Tony playing the Lion, is the only one who stands out among the four principals. Of course, Mabel King as Evilene is lots of fun, too.
I saw this movie opening weekend in a theater whose audience was 98% African-American, and they were rapturous with every song and production number. I thought the roof was coming off the theater with "No Bad News," and Horne's "If You Believe" and Ross' "Home" got STANDING OVATIONS! I just sat still and cringed at how deadly the film was paced.
-
I wouldn't have known anything about Motown if it weren't for my brother who was a big fan.
He would play one song about fifty times over and over before moving on to another one.
My favorite: "You Can't Hurry Love" by the Supremes.
Favorite singers and groups:
Mary Wells
Four Tops
Temptations
Supremes
Marvin Gaye
Martha and the Vandellas
My very first boy friend and I had a song we called "our song": Mary Wells' "My Guy."

TV Reminders:
MEDIUM returns tonight!!!
NBC brings on a new gameshow to replace AMERICAN GLADIATORS.
New episodes of OLD CHRiSTINE and WELCOME TO THE CAPTAIN on CBS
A new SARAH CONNOR CHRONICLES on Fox.

I am really really looking forward to MEDIUM tonight.
There are also the season finales of:
PRISON BREAK and DANCE WARS.
-
Page Two Toto Dance!!!

Today I begin the big project that I've been dreading just a bit - THE LAST EMPEROR. I wish I liked the movie more. It's grand and sweeping, but it's a cold epic, at least that was my initial reaction all those years ago when it was released. I've never watched it since.
There are at least four feature-length documentaries also in this big box, so I'll have my hands full with it for the next several days (taking time out for favorite TV shows, of course!)
-
Monday morning greetings! It's my day off and I've already been to the dentist for my 6-month check-up and cleaning (Look, Ma, no cavities!). Richard and I are going out to my mom's for dinner and to a concert there at her retirement community by the Miami University Men's Glee Club. Wonder if Richard will go up to sing when they invite alumni?

I have to say when I saw how bad this was and how poorly it did at the box-office, I truly believed film musicals (except for an occasional Fosse movie or Broadway adaptation) were over.

Getting the rhythms down and the entrances of the "Bobby/Baby" stuff in that opening number right were some of the most difficult things I ever did in theater. (Learning my harmony part for "Cabaret" in AND THE WORLD GOES 'ROUND was another.)
-
I did notice a few of the BIG set pieces from THE WIZ redressed and used in the XANADU finale....
-
We won't know until the autopsy . . .
I see Nurse Ratched is in attendance. ;D
-
Well it looks like yesterday's cheerleader, DR TCB his veryownself, is back up and at 'em this morning.
His pom-poms must be refreshed! ;)

I'm heading down now to get cleaned up for my lunch out with best friend John (yes, he's working today).

A little pre-Wiz (hmmm, how unseemly) Charlie Smalls trivia: One of Portland's jazz legends is vocalist Nancy King, who regaled me with this story: she was part of a band that was briefly signed by A&M, called Charlie Smalls & Company. They had one single (whose name I can't recall right now, I want to say "Sunflower" or "Sunbird" or something like that) that evidently charted quite high in L.A., but not nationally. They never finished recording a complete album because Charlie (this is according to Nancy) made off with the advance and went to little ol' NYC, where he wrote The Wiz.

Happy President's Day to all of our favorite presidents!
Around our house, we celebrate it as Uncle Milly Day. Millard Fillmore is a great-great-great-great-great-great uncle of DR Sandra on her dad's side of the family.
Interestingly, our very own DR Megan can also celebrate Uncle Milly Day - he is her great-great-great-great-great-great uncle on her mother's side of the family.
-
Makes me laugh EVERY time.
I'm simple-minded that way! :)

Nice planetary actions this week, with Uranus being unusually quiet and inactive.
The week begins with Mercury turning direct on February 18, offering confidence about the future. Later the same day, the Sun enters the dream-seeker sign of Pisces, urging you to tune in to your goals. The Virgo lunar eclipse on February 20 brings an emotional emphasis to your self-care plan, while the Sun opposite Saturn on February 24 prompts you to stand back and take a realistic look at where you are and where you're headed.
-
Congratulations to President Millard Fillmore and all of his descendants!
-
Uncle Milly's greatest achievement is having the first bathtub with running water installed in the White House.
-
Uncle Milly's last words from his deathbed were "The nourishment is palatable."

Good Morning!
I'm up, I'm up... And I guess I guess I should check what time I'm supposed to play this afternoon. Hmm...
-
Ah... 3:00pm... I should be fully awake by then. ;)
-
Please give Jason Graae my love a hug and a nice grope, and PLEASE tell him to find a way to come to Phoenix soon to perform.
-
As for "The Wiz" - It's always been one of those movies that I've "liked" - well, if I happen to come across it while flipping channels, and nothing else is on, I will usually end up sticking with it through the end. Well, almost the end. I also always seem to catch it in the middle of Michael Jackson's "Scarecrow" number. -I think I've only seen the beginning - and end - of the movie just once, possibly twice. Either way, I don't remember much about the opening set-up, and all I remember about the end is Diana Ross running in the snow and not seeming to be cold.
And, yes, "Can You Feel A Brand New Day" has to be one of the strangest - and unjustifiably long(!) - dance sequences every filmed.
-
Uncle Milly's last words from his deathbed were "The nourishment is palatable."
How can you top that?
-
And do you happen to know what Uncle Milly's "last nourishment" happened to be?
-
He usually does, DR JRand.
Great!!! ;D
-
HHW?The loony farm?
It's not where you start, it's where you finish! ;D
-
As Michael Jackson sang in THE WIZ: "You can't win, you can't break even, and you can't get out of the game."
Now there's a cheery thought! :)

Wikipedia says: "His last words were alleged to be, upon being fed some soup, 'my only regret in death is that the Whig dies with me.'"
However, we like the other quote better, so we are going with that one.

Missy K! I have kept missing you on your previous visits. Hello!!
Hola, DR Edi!

My favorite president is Jimmy Carter.
I was born in Marion, Ohio, the home of Warren G. Harding.

Yes -- very Haineswayish indeed...

Uncle Milly took over as president after President Zack Taylor ate that fatal snack of cherries and milk.
-
Now if you ever get on Jeopardy, you know all you need to know to answer a Millard Fillmore question.
I just hope you get a Millard Fillmore question.
-
I liked the Motown sound ...
The Miracles
The Temptations
4 Tops
Supremes
Marvin Gaye
The Commodores
-
that fatal snack of cherries and milk.
He should have combined them into a smoothie.

Oh, and I went "awwwww" when DR ELmo posted the photo of Jose at the Piano the other day -- I miss that little Enabler Face -- even more when it's wearing that charming smile...

-
On this, the last day of my second four-day weekend, I have to report that I have developed a head cold. The sinuses are draining and I'm a tad nauseous.
-
On the plus side, I did a lot of organizational spiffing up in the kitchen and the bedroom. And I've gotten my household/financial/whatnot "papers" organized and in a file.
-
Sorry to hear that, DR Ron Pulliam.
I've been struggling myself with a phlegmy, wracking cough that seems to hang on for weeks, with a sore throat to boot. I hope I didn't give it to you.
-
I rewatched Bette Davis and Miriam Hopkins in "Old Acquaintance" Saturday e'en. It remains a wonderful movie! I have to ask myself why MGM has YET to release the remake, George Cukor's "Rich and Famous."
-
Tomorrow the new windows get installed. So today we are moving stuff away from the windows and stuff like that. I would like to know exactly where all this junk came from.
-

I avoided contact with the hoi-polloi most of the weekend, DR strepclaw, but I made a trip to Bed, Bath & Beyond down by Jack London Square yesterday afternoon. Had you been in there earlier, perchance, and hocked up a phlegm wad or two?

Wasn't Phlegmshin in Grand Hotel?

Tomorrow the new windows get installed. So today we are moving stuff away from the windows and stuff like that. I would like to know exactly where all this junk came from.
Now that you've classified it as "junk", I would like to know if it is all going back after the windows are installed.
;)
-
Should "Old Acquaintance" be forgot?
Nevah!
-
I think DR Sandra should "christen" each new window by opening it and yelling "UNDERPANTS!" to the world.
In her chef's hat.
-
Having read "a bit" from last night's posts, I have to comment to DR MattH that the actor in "Brothers and Sisters" with whom Saul had a nice time is named Enrico Colantonio. At least, that's the way he's been billed in other shows I've seen him in.
-
Good Afternoon!
Well, I'm gonna head out just to walk around a bit before my 3:00 session. Hopefully, the rain - and possibly thunderstorm - will off while I'm wandering around midtown.

Have you all seen the Kia commercial about Millard Fillmore?
-
I have not shaved in three days.
For no reason other than pure laziness.
That is all.
-
I have made several trips to the alley to leave junk, which someone in a pickup truck will pick up. I don't know who said person is, but the pickup truck always goes down the alley and takes the treasures.
Other junks will be shredded; others have gone into the trash dumpster.
-
Have you all seen the Kia commercial about Millard Fillmore?
Shouldn't that be, "Buy a Kia and fill LESS"? ???
-
Nice planetary actions this week, with Uranus being unusually quiet and inactive.
I hear prunes can help with that.

How have the ratings been for this Dance War thing that has its finale tonight? I haven't watched any of it.
-
Enjoying DR JOSE's blogging from the last few days.
-
I plan to eat enough candy to induce a sugar coma before our impending weekly staff meeting. :P
Sounds like a plan to me...
-
DR SINGDAW - be careful it might also induce sugar rush conversation and you will find yourself in charge of two new committees and the office St Patrick's Day celebration.
-
Point well taken, DR JRand57!!! :D
-
It seems that Hindemith supported himself in his youth by playing in dance bands.
Also, Mitch Leigh studied composition with him!! :o

I'm up, I'm shaved, I'm about to be showered, and then off to an early lunch with Mr. Graae at a coffee shop I've never actually been to.

After watching the opening number on the PBS website, I don't hold much hope out for liking Mr. Doyle's Company - the staging looked awful.

Ok, time for Los Angeles photos!
Upon my arrival in Burbank I drove over to Fairfax and Santa Monica for a mini HHW gathering at Genghis Cohen. The troup was lead by BK himself, DR Adriana, DR Cason, DR Singingnymph, and myself. Food was tasty and company was very good!
Here we see Mr. BK and the always cute as a button DR Adrianna

From Edi:
Last night, we were leaving a restaurant and there was a wallet, cigarette lighter and camera on the steps outside of the restaurant. The owners looked at the license and said it belonged to a woman who had just left. How do you lose all that stuff out of your purse and not hear it??
That's because she didn't drop the items. She put her purse down & placed the items on the steps while searching for her keys. She was then distracted and left the items on the steps without putting them back into her purse. ;D
-
Actually, I think my current avatar looks rather Presidential.

Happy Woody Day, TCB!

My computer froze up and I had to restart...dagnabit!
Now, to continue the LA trip travelogue (just like seeing someones slides of the trip to the Grand Canyon, huh! )
-
Actually, I think my current avatar looks rather Presidential.
It does! ;D
-
Cilla, I give the cat dancer as new kitten gifts. It is a great toy. We had one cat that loved them so much I had about 5 scattered throughout the house at once. He would collect them all into one spot of the house & place with them all at once. It was a riot.
-
Actually, I think my current avatar looks rather Presidential.
Or perhaps more like Mamie Eisenhower without her wig?

Is anybody else looking forward to watching last year's COMPANY on PBS this Wednesday?
I am! :D

Happy Woody Day, TCB!
Luckily TCB probably won't touch that one with a ten-foot (or inch) pole. ;)

Just finished my read-through with the student horn player on the Hindemith. It went swimmingly, I'm happy to say. He and his mother were somewhat amazed that it went so well, so that makes me happy. The tempo joke was on me, however--somehow I had failed to notice the MM marking jumps to 144 for the final couple of pages, so I got to play things extra-special fast. ;)
-
Don't ever dare me, Jeffrey.

Is anybody else looking forward to watching last year's COMPANY on PBS this Wednesday?
Not I.

I apologize for the delay but AOL is not letting me access and edit/crop my photos at this time...so I am going to go and return later when hopefully things will be working better! >:(

This production gets a scathing [and hilarious] treatment on the latest installment of "Forbidden Broadway." :D
-
I am happy to report that I took on zero new assignments in our weekly staff meeting.
More time to post surreptitiously at HHW! :)
-
That was it for the photgraphs? There wasn't even FOOD on the plate (photo from Genghis Cohen).
-
I shall now be on my way to luncheone with Foix Graae.
-
I rewatched Bette Davis and Miriam Hopkins in "Old Acquaintance" Saturday e'en. It remains a wonderful movie! I have to ask myself why MGM has YET to release the remake, George Cukor's "Rich and Famous."
Go to Amazon.com; it's been available since November.
-
Not I.
Nor I. I saw the brilliant original; I have no urge to watch what looks like the last strike of the City Ballet Orchestra.
-
Back from my trip to the
library grocery store.
I have now watched the Company clip and will watch the broadcast on Wednesday, but I no longer regret not having seen this when it premiered in Cincinnati.
-
This production gets a scathing [and hilarious] treatment on the latest installment of "Forbidden Broadway." :D
DR Singdaw - I have become totally addicted to Forbidden Broadway CDs in my car. I even bought this latest one.
-
Feel better vibes to Ron, Singdaw & all who need them.
-
Thanks, DR Jane!! :)
-
I have become totally addicted to Forbidden Broadway CDs in my car. I even bought this latest one.
Yes, they are great fun. And wicked! :)
-
I have no urge to watch what looks like the last strike of the City Ballet Orchestra.
;D ;D
-
Actually, I think my current avatar looks rather Presidential.
Perhaps I will have to sculpt DR TCB in soap...
-
Is that Unseemly??
-
Maybe it would be better to carve Presidents and DearReaders out of chocolate instead.
-
I am reading a book titled Free for All: Oddballs, Geeks, and Gangstas in the Public Library, by Don Borchert. It hits very close to home - well, to my workplace, actually.
-
Wasn't RICH AND FAMOUS in that Leading Ladies Box that was released late last year?
-
Go to Amazon.com; it's been available since November.
Exactly what I was thinking. Glad I hadn't imagined it!
-
Another mid-spring day here. It's been breezy, but it wasn't really a cold breeze, so very definitely like spring. The weather just continues to amaze me. My heat hasn't kicked on all day.
-
Well, I watched THE LAST EMPEROR this afternoon - the theatrical cut that's about 2 1/2 hours. Just as I remembered it: interesting story, told at a distance so we don't have much of a rooting interest for the main character, full of Bertolucci's various fetishes (threesomes, toe sucking, etc.). Ah well.
-
A Charlie Smalls story sortof.
I saw Lena Horne's one woman show on Broadway where she sang a song from Charlie Smalls new upcoming Broadway musical.
Of course that was never to be. Like Roger Miller he was a one shot deal on Broadway.
-
Tonight, I'll sample the audio commentary and then start on the first featurette that runs about an hour.
-
So it's still upcoming....I guess.
I can't say that I would have loved the COMPANY revival, but I sort of like the CD....although I keep going back to the original.....I guess it is a combination of originality and familiarity.....but it is STILL my favorite.
DR GINNY I love the title of that book.
-
Maybe I will get a Cat Dancer for Mr Merlin the Magic Cat at Ye Olde World of Wisdom.
-
What is everyone's Revolutionary Costume for Today?
I am wearing Tommy Hilfiger Jeans, white Hanes crew socks with grey toes and heels, white long sleeved Gap t shirt, coral Hanes boxer briefs.
-
I was the "man in black" today. Black Rustler jeans with a black mock turtleneck shirt.
-
I watched a 1966 movie titled KALEIDOSCOPE on Mojo HDTV this afternoon. I had kind of avoided this movie because I thought I knew what it would be like, but it was pretty good.
Warren Beatty and Susannah York (replacing Sandra Dee) are a nice looking couple and the story.....sort of like Casino Royale without the spies - is fun.
Has anyone else ever seen it? I would like opinions of HHW'ers please. Fun and pretty....and I enjoyed it.
-
I was the "man in black" today. Black Rustler jeans with a black mock turtleneck shirt.
And black Foster Grant sunglasses, I hope. 8)
-
Well, I guess I'll play on the internet for a bit and then head down to pick back up with documentary features on THE LAST EMPEROR.
WBBL.
-
I am wearing my Kirkland blue jeans, Seattle Seahawk T-shirt, a pair of tighty-whiteys**, black socks, and bedroom slippers.*
* I had shoes on when i went out for breakfast
** Why is it a pair of tighty-whiteys, when there is only one?
-
Because it has TWO leg openings.
-
Yes, but a t-shirt has two arm openings, why isn't it a pair?
-
Good Afternoon!
I had a nice walk around midtown, and I only managed to get caught in one of the sudden(!) downpours(!!!) this afternoon. Thankfully, I had my umbrella in my bag, so I was able to stroll from the East Side to the West Side in relative dryness. -Or something like that. The brief audition session I played for was truly brief - just one person. But it was someone I've loved on stage for a while now, and I hope that today leads to bigger and better things for her. And for me too, if that's in the cards. ;)
-
Yes, but a t-shirt has two arm openings, why isn't it a pair?
because it is worn above the waist. 8)
-
DR JOSE - Zachary Spicer is the name of my friend now in New York....if he ever happens to drift through an audition.
-
And on the way back from the casting director's office...
Amy's Bread (http://www.amysbread.com/) for a small boule of their Tangy Sourdough Bread.
Bouchon Bakery (http://bouchonbakery.com/) in the Time-Warner Center for a piece of their Focaccia of the Day (Emmenthaler Cheese, Sundried Tomatoes, Caramelized Onions and Bacon), and a Nutter Butter.
-
because it is worn above the waist. 8)
You obviously have not seen TCB in underwear. ;)
-
Today's musical critique quote o' the day: "That's not exactly soothing music." --DS Betsy after the horn player left apres Hindemith

DR JOSE - Zachary Spicer is the name of my friend now in New York....if he ever happens to drift through an audition.
Thanks again, DR JRand. I have another slew of auditions coming up, so, maybe I'll see him sooner rather than later.
-
And, Thank You, DR Jrand. :)
-
I plan to eat enough candy to induce a sugar coma before our impending weekly staff meeting. :P
Sounds like a plan to me...
Sugar coma? What's a sugar coma? ;D
-
To paraphrase one of the classic Joan Rivers' Elizabeth Taylor jokes...
"....blood type if KaRo."
*The original was: "...blood type is Ragu." ;)
-
I imagine Irwin Allen simply had a tape loop whilst directing Jill St. John in THE LOST WORLD:
"OK, Jill, in this scene you...scream!"
-
I'm up, I'm shaved, I'm about to be showered, and then off to an early lunch with Mr. Graae at a coffee shop I've never actually been to.
Are you sure it's a Coffee Shop? -You do know that "The Abbey" is not an Abbey. And neither is the Mineshaft.
;D
-
I have a nice anamorphic DVD of Kaleidoscope, which I wrote about after having viewed it. I've always been fond of the film.
-
Lunch with Mr. Graae, as you might imagine, is delightful. He wants to do a new CD and has a fun idea for one, so we're trying to figure out a way to make it happen.
-
And, now, just because I can, I am going to take a nap.
Laters...
-
Welcome eleven GUESTS. I wonder if one of them is Mr. you know who.
-
And now, I think I shall work at the piano and then proof.
-
A new Jason Graae CD would be nice. It is always pleasant to hear him zing a little zong.
-
I remember when you wrote about it - but I didn't have any interest in the film then, thinking it was one of those Carnaby Street-Richard Lester type romps that made little sense and even less money.
-
We need a film on Jean (Gene) Malin....interesting type guy....
http://theeveningclass.blogspot.com/2007/05/queer-cinemaspotlight-on-jean-malin.html (http://theeveningclass.blogspot.com/2007/05/queer-cinemaspotlight-on-jean-malin.html)

I imagine Irwin Allen simply had a tape loop whilst directing Jill St. John in THE LOST WORLD:

I would think that directing Jill St. John in a movie would send anyone on a new career path. 8)
-
Actually, I think my current avatar looks rather Presidential.
LOL!
-
Or perhaps more like Mamie Eisenhower without her wig?
Or Charlie Weaver without his hat.
-
Go to Amazon.com; it's been available since November.
And they've just kept it to themselves? How on earth did you learn about it????
-
Not to put too fine a point on it, I give a rat's ass what any of you is wearing right now.
The underwear bits are TMI! :P :P :P
-
Sugar coma? What's a sugar coma? ;D
For you, Dear Jo, it would be catatonic bliss.
-
I would think that directing Jill St. John in a movie would send anyone on a new career path. 8)
It would certainly have made the director successful if the property were any good at all. She was delightful in "Diamonds Are Forever."
-
Of course, what the clock ever did to deserve being beaten...
Perhaps, it dropped it's "L."
-
Really, DR td.
I am scandalized! :)
-
Uncle Milly's greatest achievement is having the first bathtub with running water installed in the White House.
There's a commercial about that...some car commercial about Millard Filmore and his bath tub
-
Maybe I will get a Cat Dancer for Mr Merlin the Magic Cat at Ye Olde World of Wisdom.
Is Merlin a playful boy? I imagine him as a wise old man with magical powers. ;)
-
Well, if they can use honest Abe to sell Rozerem, I suppose they can use Uncle Millie to sell cars...or bathtubs.
-
I watched a 1966 movie titled KALEIDOSCOPE
Warren Beatty and Susannah York (replacing Sandra Dee) are a nice looking couple
Has anyone else ever seen it?
I don't remember the film. I love Susannah York so it is difficult to imagine I missed this moving way back when.
I'm having difficulty picturing Beatty & Dee together.
-
Have you all seen the Kia commercial about Millard Fillmore?
That's the one I was talking about. They even have soap heads of Millard FIllmore
-
Really, DR td.
I am scandalized! :)
Well, YOU'LL get over it; but, you'll never get away from me.
-
you'll never get away from me.
I hope not! ;)
-
They even have soap heads of Millard FIllmore
Soap on a rope HEADS? :o
-
Obviously, since it's Monday night, I'm "working" hard at Breski's.
With this being a holiday, we did have a busy day at Borders, with loads of 40% off one book (with $20.00 purchase) today.
Remember now, coupons may no longer be used with Special Orders at Borders.
-
Soap on a rope HEADS? :o
Didn't they have those on several episodes of OZ?
-
Remember now, coupons may no longer be used with Special Orders at Borders.
What if flirt shamelessly with my cashier?
-
Last night we watch YANKEE DOODLE DANDY. I tend to forget what a wonderful film it is, and then I delighted all over again. James Cagney deserved his academy award.
-
Maybe I will get a Cat Dancer for Mr Merlin the Magic Cat at Ye Olde World of Wisdom.
I've never seen a cat who doesn't like the Cat Dancer. Now, that doesn't mean they don't exist, I just haven't seen one
-
What if flirt shamelessly with my cashier?
Then he, or she, might be inclined to correct your grammar! ;D
-
I'd like a new cd from Jason G.!
Was lots of dirt dished over lunch?
-
Soap on a rope HEADS? :o
Yup here's the commercial http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9fgRxSCQ6k0 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9fgRxSCQ6k0)
-
LOL-That commercial is soooooo bad.

Sherlock is yelping in pain when he gets up from lying down. I think it is his back right leg or foot that hurts. I gave him an aspirin.
Naturally we are very concerned & scared. He has been doing so well.
-
So much dish it wasn't even funny - well, it was quite funny, actually. We dished on many topics. Then director Glenn Casale stopped by our table and he and Jason chatted. Then we dished some more - and even Skip Kennon was mentioned!
-
Every now and then we do give Dixie Bell a baby aspirin; she'll limp a little after laying for a while, but, so far, she hasn't been yelping.
She and I send our best vibes DD Sherlock's way.
-
When Jason starts to dish, a good time is had by all.
-
Too many bloody connections - I e-mailed our host, then called - I'm rather sick of this, but I've just noticed that they now have an up-time guarantee, so I'm going to clock them from now on and maybe if they have to start paying for their crap they'll monitor things a bit more closely.
-
Thank you TD. Now he is yelping when he lies down. :-\
-
I was playing around with my photo editor...
-
Happy President's Day to all of our favorite presidents!
Interesting...
THe only claim I can make to a noted person is Martha Graham, the choreographer, a very distant relation. However DBF can claim MIles Standish and Lucille Ball!
-
Thank you TD. Now he is yelping when he lies down. :-\
Oh, Jane, I certainly hope that the aspirin helps. It brings tears to my eyes when a dog yelps. . .
>>>>>>>>>>>VIBES FOR SHERLOCK<<<<<<<<<<<

Sherlock looks so sad. He is standing next to me & I'm typing with one hand & petting him with the other.
-
I have been very logey this whole afternoon. Done a little work at the piano and proofed a couple of chapters, and am now watching Monte Carlo.
-
I thought that perhaps the "too many connections" was somehow related to the computer I'm posting from. . . . :(
-
I know td, & our dogs have been through enough, & at such young ages.
-
Sherlock looks so sad. He is standing next to me & I'm typing with one hand & petting him with the other.
When I get home from work, after rolling around on the floor with her, Dixie will come sit by the computer and expect the same treatment.
-
Sweet.
-
I've only just noticed - I've got less than an hour left at work!
-
Must be time for me to be doing some X and Z reports, and closing down the lottery machine.
See you all after 9!
-
TOD:
Martha and the Vandella
Aretha Franklin
The Supremes
The Temptations
My favorite songs are mostly from the Supremes but I also like songs by marvin Gaye.
-
My dad's side came way to late to be connected to any presidents...
-
vibes to Sherlock!!!
-
Proofed another chapter.
-
I've been singing "Life could Not Better Be" since the carton brouhaha began on Friday, so I just watched THE COURT JESTER again. Loved it.
-
We are home from the Miami University Men's Glee Club concert at my mom's retirement community. The multi-purpose room was packed! The Club was only about 1/3 of its normal size, but they still managed to ring the rafters a couple of times. DH Richard did go up to sing the Fight Song, Alma Mater, and Parting Blessing with the chorus. A contemporary of his was there and a couple of the men who live at Otterbein also joined in.
-
I am still unable to access and edit my photos that I downloaded to AOL pictures so the attempt the posting of photos tomorrow.
-
have you tried photobucket?
-
DR Jane - please give Sherlock a pat from me. I hope the aspirin helps.

** Why is it a pair of tighty-whiteys, when there is only one?
From the Webster Dictionary
1 a (1): two corresponding things designed for use together <a pair of shoes> (2): two corresponding bodily parts or members <a pair of hands> b: something made up of two corresponding pieces <a pair of trousers>
-
Today's musical critique quote o' the day: "That's not exactly soothing music." --DS Betsy after the horn player left apres Hindemith
Sorta how I feel about shape-note singing.

...
DR GINNY I love the title of that book.
Well, DR JRand, I've decided that I don't need to read the whole thing. I could have written it.
-
Andriana, I was going to post the definition of "a pair of pants", instead we were talking to Craig.
He had a nice time in DC. He has absolutely no idea how he did on the exam. A major portion of it was a psychological profiling. Not much to do with that except answer honestly & hope his responses are what they are looking for.
He won't know anything until the end of March. In the meantime he has begun to send out resumes. May graduation isn't so far away anymore.
-
Well, DR JRand, I've decided that I don't need to read the whole thing. I could have written it.
;D Does this mean you will be writing a book soon?
-
Thank you DRs Dakota & Ginny.
Sherlock want attention-big time.
-
;D Does this mean you will be writing a book soon?
Yeah, Jane, in my spare time! Maybe when I retire...
-
Well, my delightful 3-day weekend is over and tomorrow I must return to work, so...
Goodnight, all!

A nice tribute to TomLantos (http://news.bestfriends.org/index.cfm?page=news&fps=1&mode=entry&entry=19BE5FE5-19B9-B9D5-9DFC88CDBE005C9F)from Best Friends Animal Society.

Thank you DR Laura.

VIBES TO SHERLOCK~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
-
I've been on a cleaning binge, not only because my parents are coming to stay a night, but also because I am sick of the clutter and am ready to do it. It's been great. I did the bathroom, home office and guest room over the weekend and tonight I did my bedroom. I still need to do the floor and go threw the closet and donate clothes to charity, but I sorted, cleaned and unpacked boxes.
-
Vibes for DD SHERLOCK.
DRJANE - Merlin has his playful moments....but when he is done he is DONE! He protests very loudly when we have to move him from his chair when someone wants an Aura Photograph taken and he must vacate the perch.
-
DR DAKOTA CELT that is a lovely avvie you made for DRJOSE.
-
Intervention is such a sad show, and two episodes in a row is almost to much to bear.
-
In the midst of all of it, I left a drawer open in the hallway. When I went to close it I couldn't get it shut. I pushed on it a couple times, then opened it up a little and out popped Boo. She didn't make a noise. I was so worried I had hurt her, but it doesn't appear that it did.
She hid under the bed for a little while and then came out. To recover from the ordeal, Callie and Boo had tuna and I had a bowl of ice cream. We are all much better now.
-
I am very much looking forward to the PBS COMPANY (sorry i had caught up with the end of yesterday's posts to see it mentioned).
Btw, i have a medical question (and it's slightly gross so i apologize in advance).
I had a slightly disturbing incident at a store yesterday. I was at the cash, and suddenly my throat did not feel right.
At first i just thought it was a tickle, so i took a cough drop.
But then it began to feel like i was choking on something in my throat.
I went to the bathroom and looked. And in the back of my throat there was a yellow strip of flem. That's the only way i can describe it. It was on one side of my throat and basically from top to bottom.
I tried to cough it up. But that only worked a bit (plus a few people became concerned).
Anyhow i went home and was not able to cough it up. So i tried hot liquid. And it was gone ( i guess i swallowed it which in itself is kind of gross).
Well i didn't have the problem all day today. Except tonight the same thing happened. And i could not cough it up again.
Does anybody have any ideas? I'm also feeling slight sinus pains (which seem to go away when i take advil cold and sinus). Thanks.
-
You're the one!! 8)
Well...the "good" Jimmy...
-
Good Evening!
Well... I went to take my nap around 6:00, and just got back up about 20 minutes ago. Guess I needed that nap(!).

Here we see Mr. BK and the always cute as a button DR Adrianna

Oh, dear! Do I spy a lemon in bk's glass of water? I hope it's one of the 30% that is germ-free!

Cilla, I give the cat dancer as new kitten gifts. It is a great toy. We had one cat that loved them so much I had about 5 scattered throughout the house at once. He would collect them all into one spot of the house & place with them all at once. It was a riot.
My big love cat drags his stick with the feather on the string to wherever we are. The other cats chase the stick and jump on it, impeding his progress.
-
Ronco's New Cat in a Drawer!!
Amuse your friends for hours!!!
-
DR Jennifer - Don't worry about the stuff in your throat. All it is the stuff draining from your sinuses. It happens anytime you have a cold of sinus issue - you probably just don't always check in the mirror to see what's back there. -The stuff has to drain somewhere - which also causes most of the throat irritation when you have a cold. Don't try to cough any of it up, all you will do by doing that is irritate your throat even more.
In short, it sounds like you have a cold and/or sinus infection.
-
DR Dakota Celt - Nice work.
-
He also liked to put hs toys in the food bowl. He'll chew on them, eat some food and chew on the toys again, like he's pretending that he's eating a bird or a mouse. Very funny and a bit strange.
-
I keep having to take breaks from the rather excruciating motion picture I'm watching on DVD - something called Across The Universe. After reading about the stunning visual imagery, the brilliance of Julie Taymor's "vision" I, despite having seen many comments saying it was a travesty, had to see for myself. I have yet to see one brilliant image or any particular "vision." What I have seen is, as usual these days, lots of yellow in the transfer. Note to idiot filmmakers - skies are BLUE, not yellow/green. The color BLUE is your friend. Stop draining the color from film. It is nauseating. Mr. Ebert says this film "reimagines" the 60s - how so? How is it "reimagining"? It takes place in the 60s, Mr. Ebert, and I just don't see this reimagining, but then again, I've always felt that Mr. Ebert was a total bore as a critic. No, it's just the 60s as seen through the eyes of the 2000s - yellow, hip, and too damn long.
-
I thought that perhaps the "too many connections" was somehow related to the computer I'm posting from. . . . :(
...Or the websites you're visiting.
;D
-
Changed my mind.
-
The film was a box-office bombola - but you wouldn't know that from the imdb, where the fourteen year olds (many of whom actually state that they're fourteen) wax poetic about how brilliant the film is. Perhaps that's who responds to Miss Taymor's "vision."
-
What is everyone's favorite TAMMY movie?
-
I really want to shut it off, but I shall stay with it until the bitter end.
-
bk - Even though I did not think that "Across the Universe" was a great film, I thought it was a good one. And Ms. Taymor's "vision" works much better on the large screen of a movie theatre than on a large-screen of a living room TV.
I also liked the covers of the Beatles' songs.
-
Ronco's New Cat in a Drawer!!
Amuse your friends for hours!!!
LOL, the part that was scary is I don't see how she didn't get squished when I was pushing on the drawer to get it shut. I am very relieved
-
The original Tammy is my favorite. I'd like the others better if the transfers weren't devoid of color.
-

There are people who LOVE the film - different strokes. For me, she has no vision, and never has, except for the first ten minutes of The Lion King.
-
And the film would still be yellow on the big screen. And the film, like many films today, is in scope for no discernable reason.
-
I watched Across the Universe over the weekend, I wasn't too fond of it. My friend Paul, on the other had, loved it.
-
Welcome ten GUESTS. I wonder if Mr. you know who is one of them - perhaps if we all say "Get it - got it - good," we'll know.
-
I watched Across the Universe over the weekend, I wasn't too fond of it. My friend Paul, on the other had, loved it.
I'd say opinion about this film is divided right down the middle.
-
And what has happened to dear reader Jeanne?
-
DR MBarnum - Are you using AOL Pictures for your photos? Or are you just trying to access the internet and another site for your pictures through AOL's browser? In either case... AOL's functions work better now on their web-interface. Just open a browser window (IE, Safari, Firefex, etc.), and access AOL that way - aol.com. -Then open another browser window for your photo program. That should solve your problem.
-
~~~~~VIBES FOR DD SHERLOCK~~~~~
-
Yes, we want to see these damn pictures. So far, we've had two people sitting in a booth with an empty plate and a pair of chopsticks - we want the other people in the booth and the food, baby.
-
Last night I watched "The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford" I liked it. Tonight I discovered "Jesse James, Legend Outlaw" that's looking at whether he was really killed or if he staged it. It's interesting.
-
I'd say opinion about this film is divided right down the middle.
Well it was between the only two people I polled, Paul and I ;D
-
Is his last name McCartney?
-
Is his last name McCartney?
LOL, no, it's Chelstad. But he's an artist who was very much a participant in the mind expanding activities of the 60s.
-
Thank youi for the compliments. I saw the pic and knew exactly what would compliment it
DR CILLA LIZ I saw that on Sunday....the Jesse James show....
IF YOU HAVEN'T SEEN THE END SKIP THE REST OF THIS....
Jesse was quite a ladies man and was seeing several women....among whom were his fiance AND the cook who worked at her ranch. It was one of the ladies who made Mr Ford aware of Jesse's whereabouts....and there you are. Jesse shouldn't have been so randy.
Thanks for this info.
You're right i don't usually look.
The only thing that is concerning me now is that twice now (tonight and yesterday) it has gotten so bad that i've basically been choking on it.
I've coughed up flem on occasion. But this was like a long strip that could just not be coughed up. The reason i tried to cough it up was because i was choking on it! :(
-
I really really want to see ACROSS THE UNIVERSE. I remember seeing the previews at the movies and thought it looked very interesting!
-
DR Jennifer - This may sound gross, but the best thing to do is to drink a glass of warm water, and swallow, gently. Trying to cough it up is the equivalent of shaking sand out of a beach towel - that's a lot of force, and a lot of irritation. As for choking on it, it's probably more psychological than anything - you're just feeling it there, so... Breathe. Relax. Drinking more water and fluids will also help to loosen up your phlegm too, in general.
Interesting celebs announced for DANCING WITH THE STARS.
(not sure if this is considered a spoiler).
Here are a few i can remember: Penn (the magician), monica seles (tennis player), marlee matlin (deaf which should be interesting), marissa jaret winokur (hairspray), kristi yamaguchi (skater), steven guttenberg (actor), some miami dolphin football player, some latin actor who i don't know, priscilla presley, shannon elizabethe actress).
I guess there are 2 more men i can't recall.
Trying to cough it up is the equivalent of shaking sand out of a beach towel - that's a lot of force, and a lot of irritation. As for choking on it, it's probably more psychological than anything - you're just feeling it there, so... Breathe. Relax. Drinking more water and fluids will also help to loosen up your phlegm too, in general.
I did find that hot drinks really helped.
I guess it's good to know not to swallow it.
It could be psychological tonight. But yesterday at the store it sure wasn't. I didn't have any hot liquids. And it got pretty bad.
I thought it would be more private in the bathroom. But there were a lot of people there. It was at least nice to know that at least 2 people stopped to ask if i was okay. And one gave me some gum, which actually helped a bit.
Thanks.
-
DR Jennifer - You should try to swallow "it" - that will get it out of throat faster than coughing it up - and you won't irritate your throat with all that coughing. -Of course, you'll probably end up coughing back it up eventually, but better to let that happen involuntarily. -But, again, I'm not a doctor, so... -Do your hospitals have any sort of free nurse hotline? Or just check with a pharmacy.
-
I listened to the audio commentary on THE LAST EMPEROR. Even with four speakers, it kind of dragged.
-
I decided instead of watching the 3 1/2 hour version tomorrow, I'll spend tomorrow watching the rest of the bonus features on the two discs, and watch the long version of the movie on Wednesday.
-
Completely off topic --
Whatever happened to that caveman sitcom?
Actually you should swallow it. That's what the warm liquid helps you do. I just blow my nose as much as I can and then drink lots and lots of water
Favorite quote from tonight's TV viewing:
"I'm sorry. You will not be a part of Girlicious."
;D
-
I did get two of the bonus features watched tonight. They were both concerning the 1984 trip to China that Bertolucci took.
One thing I learned is that before he decided to do THE LAST EMPEROR, he was really anxious to direct a screen version of the Dashell Hammett mystery RED HARVEST. I would like to have seen what he would have done with that book.
The deal fell through and he was devastated. He went to China to try to forget, and that's where he got the idea for THE LAST EMPEROR.
Yeah, and My Dad's Better Than Your Dad. Did you see the winning father jump up and wrap his legs around the host? I about dropped my ice cream spoon
Bad ratings so ABC took it off the air. I think it had one or two episodes left to show, but ABC cut its losses.
Thanks, Matt.
Luke and Noah were on AS THE WORLD TURNS with a kind of creepy event happening to them. They were not on the previews for tomorrow.
(to the tune of Follow the Yellow Brick Road)
Swallow the yellowish phlegm
Swallow the yellowish phlegm
Swallow, swallow, swallow, swallow
Swallow the yellowish phlegm
THE SARAH CONNOR CHRONICLES had a good episode tonight allowing us to see the front story of Brian Austin Green's character. Good use of flashforwards.
-
If Luke came to see me on at my office on the skywalk, would that make him Luke Skywalker?
-
MEDIUM had a different kind of episode tonight, and I enjoyed it even if I did figure out the plan well before the end of the hour. (I've been on a roll in the last few days guessing the solutions for these mysteries. It can't last!)
-
If Luke came to see me on at my office on the skywalk, would that make him Luke Skywalker?
Maybe if it's played by Mark Hamill. The Luke on AS THE WORLD TURNS is Luke Snyder.
Interesting celebs announced for DANCING WITH THE STARS.
(not sure if this is considered a spoiler).
Here are a few i can remember: Penn (the magician), monica seles (tennis player), marlee matlin (deaf which should be interesting), marissa jaret winokur (hairspray), kristi yamaguchi (skater), steven guttenberg (actor), some miami dolphin football player, some latin actor who i don't know, priscilla presley, shannon elizabethe actress).
I guess there are 2 more men i can't recall.
I think Marlee will do well. Heather Whitestone, a past Miss America was deaf and she danced. She may surprise us and do quite well. Deaf feel vibrations and can sense things.
-
I gotta tell you.
-
Forty more minutes to go. We've had more vision, though - Julie Taymor/Terry Gilliam (the draft board), Julie Taymor/Roger Corman (The Trip), Julie Taymor/Hair.
-
I'm thinking of going over to Gelson's to get something to nibble on.
-
Well, I believe I'm going to head back to bed. Today was one of those days where I woke up tired, and then started to feel a little "not good". I think all the contact I've been having lately with roomfuls of sick and near-sick actors may be catching up with me. Well, I hope not. In any case sleep is good.
Goodnight.
Why me or Lord, why me?
Just returned from a full day at the Grandlads.
Dogs were barking more than usual.
Woody went to fill the water bowls and let out a cry - "My Goodness!"
There, comfortably ensconced on the kitchen window sill was:
(http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b70/GEORDIEMC/kitty/joe0005.jpg)
A very skinny, very cute kitty.
(http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b70/GEORDIEMC/kitty/joe0004.jpg)
Woody reached for her, and she jumped right up on his shoulders.
(http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b70/GEORDIEMC/kitty/joe0001.jpg)
We took her outside, and set her down - but no way was she leaving - much leg rubbing ensued. I went inside and found a can of 9Lives which I took ouside. Kitty took a few gulps right away. She then got up in my arms and I got the motor-running treatment.
Woody took her down to the basement - where we took the pictures.
Big Trouble - he called her Josie - already the damn cat has a name!
We let Fletcher down to met her; she was stand off-ish and he sniffed a little and lost interest. Buster came down and went bananas - Josie gave a swat at his snout and he backed away.
Bonnie was next, and was much too excited to introduce (another woman in my house - I THINK NOT!)
Josie is now alone in the warmer basement with food and water curled up on an old couch.
Poor thing is thin as a rail, all ribs - just a bag of bones -but neat and clean; certainly not a feral cat.
I don't want to toss her out in the chilly weather, so I guess she spends the night.
Oh, dear! Do I spy a lemon in bk's glass of water? I hope it's one of the 30% that is germ-free!
;D I needed that laugh. Watching Sherlock is very scary and upsetting. He finally lied down, outside on the bark. Every time he tried up till now he couldn't do it. He just keeps pacing & looking sad.
It must not be his foot or leg, no limping at all.
-
I am ready for spring, bring it on!
She could be scared... She reminds of a cat I used to have named Sandy
-
Josie is so very cute & sweet. It even sounds like she will settle in fine with the dogs, unless you find her owner soon.
-
Thank you DR's Cilla & Jose.
Jennifer I know how horrible that gagging felt. Keep up those warm drinks & sleep elevated to keep it from draining more overnight.
-
Does Josie have a box with shredded paper, or something?
-
ONe nice thing about Sandy is when I was on the puter when I was at my parents, she used to curl up on my feet.
-
Back to keeping Keith company while he watches Sherlock who is still outside on the bark. The bark is uneven, maybe that helps & he might also be enjoying the cool air.
-
I hope things sort themselves out for Sherlock, poor dear...
-
Heading down to bed now. I won't attempt to do any writing until tomorrow.
Good night!
-
Beautiful new cat you have there, Der Brucer and SWoody.
How much to fly a cat to Ashland :D
Thanks Dakota, we aren't doing too well either. It's going to be a long night.
Sherlock is looking the most comfortable & relaxed he has all evening. Keith is searching the internet for some explanation of what is going on.
Does Josie have a box with shredded paper, or something?
No, but the cellar floor is bare concrete - and well dog-marked.
Would a plain box with newspaper mean anything to her; no stores open 'till tomorrow.
der Brucer
-
A box of dirt or sand would work.
-
Wish I could have animals... I miss them
-
(((((hugs to Keith, Jane and Sherlock)))))
-
If she is trained to use a little box, even an empty box might work. You could put two out, one with shredded paper & one with a little dirt or sand. Options are always nice.
You can put the box inside of a plastic bag, then shape the bag around the box. This makes a good liner before adding the sand.
-
Thank you again Dakota.
Keith brought Sherlock in by walking around the house from the dog run to the front door. Sherlock looked fine, even trotted to me. As I said, this is very strange. Maybe he will lie down now that is managed it outside.
'night again. I hope this really is it for the night.
-
Hopefully it was just a kink and it worked itself out...
Why, I oughtta!
Welcome eight GUESTS. I wonder if one of our GUESTS will Outfox The Fox.
Cluck, cluck...
Alas it will be cold here again tomorrow... I am growing very tired of this cold weather. I am looking forward to warmer weather in southwestern Utah.
I have been coughing for the last few days! :P Earlier today, I called the Group Health consulting nurse who said that I should call the clinic in the morning and tell them that I should be seen tomorrow. It sounds like the congestion is more than that...bronchitis. I've had it before. AND I just got cast in a new show! Details to follow.
-
Vibes that the bronchitis goes away!
-
Congrats on being cast in a new show!
-
What show are you doing? I send get well vibes and broken leg vibes!
-
Trying to get my mind to settle but it is refusing to
-
So after I called Group Health, I went to my sister's to watch the PBS HD broadcast of "The Rise and Fall of the City of Mahagonny" that she had recorded for me on their HD DVR. And I got to watch it on their (my sister and niece's) HD TV!
-
Maybe I am letting people get to me but why do some insist and destroying a person because they stand for something believe in....
-
Anyway, while I was still there, I got a call from Troy, who is the resident music director of Capital Playhouse, asking about my availability right now, and I said I'm available. Evidently, they needed to recast a couple of roles and if the director (who was flying in from New York) okayed it, I could be in the show! I auditioned last summer for them, but heard nothing, until now.
-
where did you all make your avatars?
-
So, since I'm relatively conflict free (there was one conflict, but it was the week that the show opens, so I'll have to give up the ticket), I said yes. The show is Side Show! The original Broadway production starred BK's very close and personal friends, Emily Skinner and Alice Ripley!
nice pictures of one of my favorite actors...
-
I went to rehearsal tonight and I'm playing...wait for it: Dolly Dimples, the fat lady. ??? ::) ;) Fine, whatever. It'll be fun. I've never been in a show for them (just seen them all) and my friend Heather (who has been in the three TAO shows that I've done) showed up, also as a last minute recast.
And TCB, Chris Serface is playing The Boss! :D
-
Mine is from Photobucket, also. However, BK has requested that we not use the animated avatars. They considerably slow things down here.
