Well, you've read the notes, the notes gave March their marching papers, and now it is time for you to post until the marching cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: VELUTINOUS!
-
Good evening. First post after BK.
-
BK, both George and I announced earlier today that we would be home late.
-
George had a cast party.
-
And Tracy and I went to see A LITTLE NIGHT MUSIC.
-
JOHN, ALNM is also one of my favorite musicals, but this was not a great production.
-
Most of the cast was really good; and, of course, the show is a masterpiece.
-
Therefore, I guess the blame has to be the
adult fault (thank you spellcheck) of the director.
-
My friend Casi, who played Desiree, was fabulous; and Jonathan Bill, who played Fredrik, was also very good.
-
The real showstopper was the young man who played Henrik. His name is Will Johnson, and he is a real talent. I saw him last year as the dentist in LITTLE SHOP, and he literally stole that show.
-
This time, he almost walked off with the show in a role that is usually rather forgettable. Not this time. His comic timing is spot-on, his delivery first rate, and his singing voice was very strong.
-
After the show, he was the first cast member I tracked down. I told him how wonderful his performance was, and that I had also enjoyed him in LITTLE SHOP. And he stopped me right there and said, “And I saw you in IT’S A WONDERFUL LIFE and I thought you were wonderful.”
Talented AND he has fantastic taste! :D

George had a cast party.
I'm home and in bed...finally! The cast party was fun and chatty, and my belly is filled with food. :)
-
And Tracy and I went to see A LITTLE NIGHT MUSIC.
I'm going to today's matinee.
-
But there were a lot of missteps in the production. The woman who played Charlotte, a role i usually love, was totally misdirected in the part. Instead of a stinging wit, she played the character as a wacko.
-
JOHN, ALNM is also one of my favorite musicals, but this was not a great production.
Oh, no! :-\
-
Sounds like a highly intelligent and talented young man.
-

That's too bad.
-
And I must confess, this was the first time seeing this show that I absolutely detested the Quintet.
-

That's so cool!
-
Sounds like a highly intelligent and talented young man.
I thought so
-
And, one of the more talented young people from YES VIRGINIA, played Fredrika.
-
George, what kind of food filled your belly?
-
I am sure you will enjoy it George. It isn’t awful. I just really wanted it to be better.
-
Casi’s Send In The Clowns knocked it out of the park.
-
And the audience gave the show the required standing O, but I think the production, over all, deserved it.
-
I will be very interested in reading your opinion of the production, George.
-
The cast party was a potluck, so I brought some caramel popcorn and cheese-flavored popcorn (actually mixed and packaged together), and some Taco Bell tacos, but I also had some chips and dip, various cheeses, and several things that I just can't remember.
-
But also yesterday before the party, the family got together for our weekly family dinner and we had pizza, and apple pie (I didn't have that), and some raspberry crumble (topped pie). That was all real good, too.
-
Oh, and I thought the role of Carl-Magnus was totally miscast.
Page Two!
-
I am sure you will enjoy it George. It isn’t awful. I just really wanted it to be better.
I'll let you know.
-
Good night, 1 Guest.
-
Good night, George.
-
Oh, and I thought the role of Carl-Magnus was totally miscast.
I just saw his pictures in one of the reviews liked from their website...and was cast againt type.
-
Good night, Tom.
-
Well, I'm fading fast. I can't keep my eyes open, so I'll give in and go to sleep.
But before I do...a Very Happy Birthday to (former) DR Ann!
-
Have a good day, all!
-
Hello I must get ready for church
-
Then we'll be off to the city afterwards
-
So. I may not be back again today
-
Have a lovely day all!
-
Good morning, all!
-
I screwed up the alarm and the cats actually let me sleep in till 7:30. All is well, and I am pondering my day.
-
I'm on the last lap of the choral piece. When I finish it, I need to hit the market for more deli turkey.
-
Yesterday I put new allergen screens in the windows and put away the comforter on the bed. Of course, it follows that last night was chilly and I nearly froze. Annabelle and Thatch kept me warm.
-
Do they still do quote ads in the newspaper?
"It isn't awful!!!"
- TCB
I added some exclamation points.
-
Yesterday, my wife and I watched 2 movies:
IT'S A MAD (4) WORLD
ROSE MARIE (1954)
I'm researching a new play, but as usual, I'm not going to reveal the subject until it's finished.
:D
-
Good morning, all.
-
That could go well as a clipping with the Jones Beach ad for DAMN YANKEES with Joe Namath as Joe Hardy and the glorious Susan Elizabeth Scott (who lived right here on this floor) as Lola.
-
One of the ads was
"Joe Namath sings better than Lauren Bacall!" - Stewart Klein, Channel 5 News
-
And technically, in terms of hitting the notes correctly and carrying a tune, that was probably just a simple fact.
-
Just as for many of us, there was an excitement to seeing Lauren Bacall on the stage, Joe Namath certainly turned that "Damn Yankees" into a draw, even for non-sports fans.
-
Good morning, all.
-
The real showstopper was the young man who played Henrik. His name is Will Johnson, and he is a real talent. I saw him last year as the dentist in LITTLE SHOP, and he literally stole that show.
Larry and Chas and BK would likely have more insight into this. But it's seemed to me the relationship between the actor playing Henrik and the audience seemed to be pretty much set with how his first scene and number goes over.
-
I've seen the show so many times, and that seems to mean aa lot to whether we stay interested in the character, even when I've seen the same actor several times in the same production.
-
Sunday. A matinee. Which I suppose means I’m going to have to get up out of this recliner sometime soon.
-
Trying to do more shorter posts this morning
-
hoping to keep a daily posting average for this April 15 season
-
from hitting a new low.
-
Page 3!!!! before 9 AM EST!!
-
Show vibes for DR CHAS SMITH.
Interview vibes for MR BK.
-
Thanks to DR TCB for the ALNM report....and we look forward to the report from DR GEORGE.
-
Theater enjoyment vibes for DR VIXMOM & VIXDAD.....

A topic for today:
In what kind of car did you take your test in order to get your driving license?
Mine was a 1964 Dodge four door sedan.....bucket seats and center console....automatic....copper color....power breaks but NO power steering.... It was four years old at the time....I was 17.
-
Chas - were there critics there? They may rave about the added layers of meanings in the use of the panels.
-
That by staying there on the line, you actually are moving forward
-
Attn DR John G.:
This was a few years ago but, coincidentally, someone just posted it:

I keep forgetting that the "Did a cow --- in here?" spoof ad (about lingering odors) from "Kentucky Fried Movie" wasn't a real ad.

Don’t know, DR FJL, but this theater will get some “local reviews” and I shall watch for them.

It’s known as “Chicago” mix in a couple of packages I’ve seen. I’m not normally a fan of that kind of cheesey flavoring, but the combo is good.

Bruce I am glad you mentioned not to post on e-books as that is what I would have done.

...not to WHAT, DR JANE?

...not to WHAT, DR JANE?
I wonder if it's time for Disney to do THAT DARN SPELLCHECK!
-
Since i have the morning free, maybe I should try for the whole tax season's worth of posts in three hours!

Possible explanatory email:
"What do you mean I've been away? I have an average of 30 posts a day."

I'm hoping to just stay at home tomorrow, to be able to do anything I have to do from here. The practical jokes on April Fools Day makes it so hard to get any real work done.
-
At some point this past decade, people have just started to tell lies that have no humor to them, and seem totally plausible - and then say "April Fools."
-
Good morning!
-
Page 3 at 9:45 am Eastern ! Pretty good!

Post-lol

...not to WHAT, DR JANE?
It is extra hard to see on my tablet, especially when my eyes are half shut.

Has anyone been to Athens? DR Jane: I have a feeling you have. I'm going there tomorrow night. Any recommendations?

Wow! What's happening in Athens?
-
At some point this past decade, people have just started to tell lies that have no humor to them, and seem totally plausible - and then say "April Fools."
And that is totally annoying. I don't claim to have the imagination to come up with good April Fools jokes myself. I just wish all those others with similar lack of imagination would shut up and leave it to those who do.
-
I think this is going to be a McDonald's breakfast-in-the-car day.
No, wait. I'm sure of it! :)

I haven't, sounds exciting.

I have. Where are you staying and for how many days?
-
I think this is going to be a McDonald's breakfast-in-the-car day.
No, wait. I'm sure of it! :)
Now that McDonald's has free or cheap delivery made so incredibly easy in Manhattan, I'm reminded that back when they Drive-In fast food started, there were jokes about how great this was, since now we can have a Big Mac and milkshake and fries, and not even have to bother removing our fat asses from a vehicle to walk into the restaurant.
-
I tried googling. I thought it might have been Jay Leno who did that bit, but I don't see it.

1962 Chevrolet Biscayne station wagon, no power steering. I owe my ability to parallel park on learning in that car

Enjoying a very lovely eggy sandwich. My beloved 2 eggs over easy with muenster and bacon on a hard roll.

DR Kevin, of course go to the Parthenon. Be careful though as in many areas the old stone is worn, smooth, and slippery.
Walk around the Plaka area and also find a restaurant that appeals to you. https://www.athensguide.com/plaka.html
You can take an all day tour to three islands, Hydra, Poros, and Aegina. Or take the ferry to just one island. We went to charming Hydra and spent a couple of nights there.
Two and a half hours from the city is Delphi. You can find days tours to Delphi. We did a wonderful 4 day tour to Epidaurus, Mycenae, Olympia, Delphi, Meteora. Meteora was gorgeous.
-
Thank you DR VIXMOM.....that car is the size of a boat!
-
Now I have a feeling of deja vu.....have we done this TOD before....did I suggest it?

Thanks to DR TCB for the ALNM report....and we look forward to the report from DR GEORGE.
Me, too! ;)
-
Now I have a feeling of deja vu.....have we done this TOD before....did I suggest it?
it could be that the Kentucky Fried Movie "Did a Cow --- in Here?" air freshener spoof ad gets linked every time I have an excuse to do that. :)
-
That seems to happen more in bathrooms and any adjacent rooms than at the front door unless there's a pet rest room.
I do feel some people think it's fine just to get the stuff from when they miss the bowl cleaned up every year, whether the bathroom needs it or not. :)
-
We had to keep a wee-wee pad especially for Toby the older corgi when he was not well enough to be controlled to wait for outside and somehow didn't realize he could tell us when he needed to relieve himself and be taken downstairs. He was very stoic. :(
-
I'm up, I'm up - almost eight hours of sleep.
-
Around four o'clock I was awakened by a loud noise, a jolt, and movement - a small earthquake - but we've had slightly bigger ones than this recently that I haven't felt at all, but this one was sudden and it knocked over a little framed picture in the bookcase by the bed. I righted it, went online to see only one report of the little quake (3.1) and then went back to bed.

Oh, my! It's been many years since I've felt an earthquake, and I've only felt one two (or maybe three) times in my life.

Mine was a 1964 Dodge four door sedan.....bucket seats and center console....automatic....copper color....power breaks but NO power steering.... It was four years old at the time....I was 17.
I don't remember what car my parents had when I took the test. My mom can only drive an automatic, and I know I learned on one, but after I got my license, I learned how to drive a stick and have only owned manual transmission cars.
-
And now, I must be off. I need to shower, get dressed, put gas in my car, get the oil and other fluids topped off, then hie myself to Tacoma to see A Little Night Music. Hopefully, it's good.
Be back later!
-

No concerts, believe it or not! Just visiting. I have a friend who lives there.

My friend is going to show me the sights, but I just wondered if there was something in particular you recommended, such as a vegetarian restaurant. Since I have a reservation for the whole time at one hotel I don't plan on taking any overnight trips. Thanks for the day trip suggestions!

I loved Athens.
-
I loved walking the streets during the time they were just starting to get ready for the Olympics. I loved eating on a rooftop at midnight (dinner time) i even liked retsina, which I have always hated (who puts pine in wine?). The antiquities and jetlag kept me busy the four days I was there.
-
I was reminded of this by some chat in the Times site;
Remembering the unofficial BMIl workshop lore,
Edit: I double-checked the wording info:
Theory that there are only four kinds of theatre songs, (by David Arthur)
I want to be in love-
I am in love-
I was in love-
Shipoopi.
-
Telephone interview in about six minutes, then FOOD!
-
I was reminded of this by some chat in the Times site;
Remembering the unofficial BMI and ASCAP and New School workshop lore, that - with love also meaning love of ideals and goals - there are really only 4 categories of theater songs:
(1) I'm in love.
(2). I wish I were in love.
(3) I'm not in love.
(4) Shipoopi.
I guess it's because, if you're not in love, you're up Shipoopi Creek.
-
Five!
-
Good afternoon.
-
TCB, I hope Desiree did this line correctly:
And this ... is MY daughter.
-
I'm facing my least favorite activity in the world. I'm having to write my resume. Someone asked for it, and while I'm not looking forward to moving, I am at an age where I won't get asked to the dance too often anyone (except senior dances where I can practice my other occupation).
-
I've had a box of 16mm home movies sitting in my various closets for 55-60 years. I haven't watched them for all that time.
A couple of weeks ago, I took them to this place that transfers old movies onto DVD.
Yesterday, I watched the DVD, which ran about 45-50 minutes.
What memories....

I hope it is Thurl Ravenscroft.

Interview done. Fun. I think the focus will be on Leslie Neilsen, but he asked good questions and I was lively.

I finished the choral piece, got to market, and spent too much time on the phone with AppleCare. My iMac needs a tune-up
-
Ended up at McDonald's - just wanted fast and easy and it was good. I'm going to try and not have anything else today.
-
Got through the matinee unscathed (which I guess is better than getting through it scathed), and that is that until next Friday evening.
-
I had the Sausage and Egg McMuffin this morning.
It was a damned fine one.
-
DR JRand68’s TOD:
It’s odd to find that I don’t have an actual memory of which car it was, even though I remember the day and the driving test itself as administered by the Florida Highway Patrol. But it logically had to be the 1964 Rambler I was given to take to school when my parents moved on to their next car. (They had four or five Ramblers in a row.)
I tend to think of it as being in an earlier car that was stick shift, which my dad had previously (and unsuccessfully) tried to teach me how to drive.
But it had to be that light bluish green Rambler (automatic).
-
TCB, I hope Desiree did this line correctly:
And this ... is MY daughter /lo99o0op-
I'm reminded of the exchange in APPLAUSE where the gay male re-thinking of Thelma Ritter's character says "I gave. a date." and Margo says "Bring him along!"
How Bacall did the line at 0:20 here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xRikWbT6WG0
Dorothy Collins at North Shore apparently would hit the "him" with a huge almost sledge hammer emphasis. The Box office person (who was a friend of ours, and heard it every night since it was early in the show) said it felt like the director must have asked her for that.
-
I took my first driving test in a '59 Chevy Impala with tail fins. We got to a main intersection, pulled in so I was blocking all lanes, and the car died. We had to get people to push the car out of the way. Obviously I didn't get my license that time.
-
I've gotten to the episode of Riverdale where the school stages Carrie the Musical. Fun,

It isn't our favorite city. It should be different since you are meeting a local. I do suggest a day trip or two if possible. I can't recall any restaurants to recommend or I would have. I don't even know where I finally found a vegetarian Moussaka to try and I only found it once. On one of the islands (we did a cruise to various island & Croatia) we found a fava bean falafel. Bryan had made this for us when Keith grew our own fava beans. The one in Greece was almost as good, so if you see fava bean falafels I suggest trying them.
I look forward to experience Athens through your eye with your private tour guide.

SAFE AND EASY TRAVEL VIBES FOR DR KEVIN!

There you go, different strokes for different folks. It probably didn't help that we were there in August.
-
We watched the sunset at Cape Sounion. It was very nice except the driver of our tour bus wouldn't leave once the red sky was gone, and really you want to get down the road before it is dark. We did this the first night we boarded the ship and were expecting to be back in time for dinner. Had we known how late we would be we would have had lunch before leaving.

Did you bake 300 muffins?

I had been a Greek mythology and classics geek when I was a kid. I remember reading a book on the seven wonders of the ancient world five or six times. Getting to see the Parthenon and walking through it as well as the nearby amphitheater (with the world's freakiest acoustics) was fulfillment of a youth wish.
-
The car I took my driver's test in, and my first car after graduating high school, was my mother's Olds Cutlass. Keith is sure it was a 1961 Cutlass.

Page 6! TCB and George will be happy!

Not getting far with this resume.

The car I took my driver's test in, and my first car after graduating high school, was my mother's Olds Cutlass. Keith is sure it was a 1961 Cutlass.
My first car was also an Olds Cutlass. Blue and white car. Hand-me-down from my sister, Linda, to both my sister Annaliese and me. Annaliese couldn't drive, so I had got most use out of it.

Dear lovely reader Jane, I have looked in vain, Jane, for a short review on Goodreads. So, to be plain Jane, vain isn't good so please review so I can read your lovely brief thoughts. That way I won't go insane, Jane, and remain, Jane, my lovely, calm self. In the main, Jane, the rain, Jane, in Spain, Jane, stays mainly on the plain, Jane, except in the Ukraine, Jane, where things are a bit insane, Jane. I know it's a pain, Jane, but just get on the train, Jane, before the hours wane, Jane, and before I'm forced to watch Citizen Kane, Jane.
-
Thank you DR VIXMOM.....that car is the size of a boat!
Oh yes!
-
And now, I must be off. I need to shower, get dressed, put gas in my car, get the oil and other fluids topped off, then hie myself to Tacoma to see A Little Night Music. Hopefully, it's good.
Be back later!
I have it on good authority that it isn't awful
-
The car I took my driver's test in, and my first car after graduating high school, was my mother's Olds Cutlass. Keith is sure it was a 1961 Cutlass.

Great deal to share a car with someone who didn't drive. Did that mean you had to drive Linda where she wanted to go?

My next post after catching up, which will now be this one, was to apologize I didn't get it up yet.
-
We had a busy day filled with boring phone calls, outdoor work (I helped Keith with trimming some of the bushes outside our patio), a six mile walk (took the scenic route to the market) and playing in the sunshine.
-
Keith is about ready to watch something & I am want to say more than what I posted here, not much but have not put my thoughts together yet.
-
Tomorrow morning I am walking, for the first time in weeks, with my walking partner. I should do the review once I am home.
-
I did get 5 posts out of explaining ;)
-
Hello, everyone.
-
Larry, you mentioned allergen screens. What are they? I'm sure you don't mean something that replaces the regular screen, unless you can change them out from indoors.
Speaking of allergies, ah-choo!
-
Jane, Simple Truth, a generic from Kroeger, has a bottled balsamic dressing that I plan to try soon. It uses soybean oil instead of canola oil or olive oil, but no artificial sweeteners. I've tried a number of Kroeger generics and have been pleased with all of them. Excellent prices, too. I'll let you know how tasty it is.
-
Speaking of allergies, ah-choo!
My allergy eyes are so bad that the baby took one look at me and screwed up his little face and cried.
-
Now, off to watch QUEER EYE. Maybe I'll get some ideas for transforming my life.
-

Ohhhhh!
Allergy begone vibes to DR Laura!
-
We're back from our excursion to Manhattan
-
That woman sitting next to me in the theatre...
-
I did not punch her in the head
-
For which restraint I expect to receive a medal
-
And possibly a parade
-

Oh no!! Poor Kayra
-
Whoever she is
-
Allergies be gone vibes to Laura
-
And I suppose also to Kayra if she wants them
-
I did not punch her in the head
I did suggest that she might wish to consider putting her phone away so the bright screen on which she was conducting a lengthy text conversation would stop distracting those sitting around her
-
Of course, since I know talking during a show is rude, I used as few words as possible to convey that idea
-
In hindsight, I believe I may have incorrectly characterized her phone as engaging in an activity which clearly seems to be impossible for an inanimate object
-
I did say it very quietly into her ear, so I don't believe anyone else heard my error
-
She did decide to accede to my verbal request
-
Eventually
-
She had previously ignored pointed stares
-
Possibly she was blinded by the ultrabright setting on her phone screen
-
Vixmom, I admire your restraint. I might have ripped it out of her hand and stomped on it.

And another dose.

Welcome to the club, Kayra!

Riverdale Season 2 is now a thing of the past.
-
Starting to watch The Old Man and the Gun, which I'm loving 10 minutes in. Redford and Spacek just feel right together. I'm not going to finish it tonight. I wasted too much time and need to finish my writing.

A different take on Annie:

Great new avatar, sir.
-
I've had enough resume writing for the day. I also realized that I have plenty at work that can help. Maybe I'll finish it tomorrow.
-
With that, good night, all.
-
Finished with my viewing. Two episodes into season two of Aquarius. It's so obvious why this failed and the fact that they even gave it season two is amazing. It's about way too many things so it's entirely schizophrenic. Also, it's amusing that the gals playing Charlie's girls are all really attractive and cute as buttons - super cute - really cute. Go look at photographs of the real girls - really unattractive, every one.
-
Listening to music.
-
Page seven? Really? :)
-
Hey, Bruce, do you ever hear from Alan Abelew?
-
I don't hear from him at all. When we did the DVD of Nudie he came in to do the documentary piece, and I think I ran into him at Du-par's once after that. He's around, though. Ron Sossi at the Odyssey Theatre uses him a lot.

Great, thanks. I can get Simple Truth at Fred Meyer.
I wonder it it can be kept in the frig. I put my olive oil and balsamic dressing in the frig and the olive oil turned into a solid lump ;D I have it in the cuppord now.

Even though I laughed I feel bad for you.
-
That's too bad, you guys were so close at LACC.
-
Allergy vibes for DR Laura and all of us that suffer from them.
-
Amen to that, Jane!

Hi DR Michael. You are looking good. How are you feeling?
-
Denizens of LA, does anyone know of a german restaurant where they have sauerbraten?
-
Whoever she is
;D
-
There aren't so many German jernts left - I found this one that gets decent reviews and they have sauerbraten. https://redliontavern.net/menu/
-
vixmom, do you think she might be posting about you on some other site?
:)
-
I like the new avatar, too, Michael.
-
BK, did my order last week get though? I don't see it in my charges or in pending either.
-
Thanks, Bruce, I'll give it a try.
-
Good evening.
-
Page 8? Fantastic!
-
I spent a lot of hours today writing to a dear friend. When I was ready to send the email, I was told that it couldn’t process my request.
-
When I tried to SAVE the email for later, I was told it couldn’t process my request.
-
I tried for over an hour, but still nothing.
-
Finally, I was able to copy and paste the emai to Word.
-
Hopefully, by tomorrow, the problem will be corrected.
-
vixmom, do you think she might be posting about you on some other site?
:)
Have you seen any posts about a cranky old lady interrupting a perfectly innocent text message DURING A BROADWAY SHOW

But how was the play, Mrs. Lincoln?
-
Speaking of plays, I was hoping to hear DR George’s opinion of A LITTLE NIGHT MUSIC.
-
Of the production, not of the show.
-
Maybe George got invited to their cast party?
-
Speaking of Mrs. Lincoln, I have heard it said that OUR AMERICAN COUSIN was so bad that Booth was actually aiming at the actors!
-
And where is our late night L.A. denizen, jan, tonight?
-
Perhaps at the cast party with George?
-
God, I am unfunny!
-

I'm home after a two-show day!
-
Hi, Tom.
-
Tonight I am listening to Gene Pitney’s Greatest Hits Of All Time.
-
Wow...page 8! I gotta lotta ketchuping to do!

Has anyone been to Athens? DR Jane: I have a feeling you have. I'm going there tomorrow night. Any recommendations?
Wow! What's happening in Athens?
No concerts, believe it or not! Just visiting. I have a friend who lives there.
I wanted to ask...Athens, Greece, or Athens, Georgia?
-
;)
-
Hi, George.
-
Page 9
-
Well, I enjoyed the Tacoma Little Theatre production of A Little Night Music.
-
Were the Oscars on TV tonight?
-
Tom, you were right...Desiree was very good, and so was Henrich.
-
But.............
-
I didn't dislike the Liebeslieder quintet as much as you did. They did tend to overact their chorus parts, but I've seen a lot worse.
-
I loved Madame Armfeldt's "Liaisons." I thought that that was the best version of the song that I've ever seen.
-

Really?
-
In "You Must Meet My Wife," I really liked the way that Desiree primped and got her self "ready" for Frederik when he wasn't looking. I'd never seen that and it was a great way to give her something to do.
-

She was very good, but I preferred Sharry’s version.
-
One moment that I REALLY didn't like was having Frederik cry during "Send In the Clowns." WTH?? :o
-
It just made no sense.

I don't doubt that she was good, too.

I brought home the flyer for their next season. This, their 100th season, they brought back shows that had been performed during their 100 seasons. Next season will be shows that they've never done.
-
What they're doing next year are:
Calendar Girls
Evil Dead: The Musical
Holmes for the Holidays
Shattering ("A World Premiere play on the TLT stage. Winner of the AACT NewPlayFest."
A Chorus Line
Terms of Endearment
The Manchurian Candidate

That is true. Although I didn’t realize that TERMS OF ENDEARMENT and THE MANCHURIAN CANDIDATE were plays.

I don't know if TMC is new, but the description for ToE says that it's a "new stage adaptation."
-
This Manchurian Candidate play is set in 1999.

I was reminded of this by some chat in the Times site;
Remembering the unofficial BMIl workshop lore,
Edit: I double-checked the wording info:
