Laughing at my eBay nemesis department:  I am frequently sniped by another Farmer fan on eBay.  He bought a Frances Farmer photo (from another seller) for almost $500 a few weeks ago (yes, evidently some people are even more obsessed than I--hard to believe, I know).  I hadn't bid on that particular auction because it just so happened I had an extra copy of the same photo.  I just auctioned it for $9.99 to one of the underbidders on that auction.  And I know he was watching the auction, LOL.  ;)   Somehow it makes me laught to see him paying hundreds of dollars for something that's readily available for 10.  Petty, yes, but highly amusing.

I have nemeses, too.  There is one who bids on a wide variety of things...and I've been outbid many times by this entity since he or she first started out.  Over the past couple of years, this person's purchases have gone into the thousands.  It's either a very serious, wealthy collector, or someone who has gone into business.

The name I won't print here, but it bears the devilish nomenclature for the demon in "The Exorcist".

Every now and again, I encounter others who have bid on similar items.  Some even e-mail me and ask me if I'd sell the item to them when I get it.

That always amazes me....like they think I had no use for it, but bid on it anyway?

I've written amazon about the review problem (the reviews are only showing up on the hardcover listing, and they should be showing up on both) - it doesn't really matter what listing you do the review for - it should show up on both and hopefully they will fix this problem soon.  Naturally, I haven't heard back from them.

Well, I've just been given not one, but two--count 'em, two--lovely packages at my desk.  One is from Amazon which contains No Opportunity Wasted by Phil Keoghan and the Driving Miss Daisy DVD.  The other is my copy of Rewind (along with a wonderful sparkling something-or-other!)

I was going to toss a coin to see which book to read first, but since I already cracked a few pages of Rewind...

My ebay nemesis actually had the temerity to email me once to ask if I would sell him something I had managed to outbid him on.  I laughed and laughed, and just when I thought I could laugh no more, I laughed again.  ;)

elmore's review is already up on amazon, under the softcover version.  I think I'll write amazon again - it always takes me about ten minutes to find the form to write to them, but find it I will.

That's funny - I wrote one on Friday night... why hasn't that posted?

I just went back to Amazon and looked and its not listed under either hard cover or paperback, nor isisit saved under .  Well I guess the nonposting fairy was still at work Friday night.  I. I did it from my home computer so I am hoping I remembed to save it in Word before I posted it, otherwise I will have to rewrite it, and sorry bk, but my anniversary night will not be the night I do that!

BTW thanks all for your good wishes

I HATE amazon sometimes.  Damn them, damn them all to hell.  Well, rewrite it when you have time - I do hope it's saved in Word, though, so you don't have to g to the trouble.

It's raining cats and dogs here in the City of Studio.  Earlier it was raining mice and gerbils.

Yes, usually reviews show up for EVERY edition of a book or movie (DVD & VHS) - that is strange.

BUT my first review for REWIND disappeared as well.  But when DR MS's showed up I figured I should just write it again.  And it was posted immediately.  I don't know if I clicked something wrong and didn't click something.....but it was posted the second time.  Try again.

Last night's "Desperate Housewives":

SPOILER POTENTIAL!!!!!!!!!!

Is it just me or have the writers seemingly gone off the deep end?  First, I had a great deal of trouble last night even caring what was going on.

There's way too much in the way of convolution of plot...and there's no resolution of one thing while setting up another.  It's just a huge series of set-ups.

And the characters are becoming less and less interesting to me.

I fear this show may have peaked, so to speak, in cleverness and edginess.

I watched LAW & ORDER: CRIMINAL INTENT this afternoon, the second of the Chris Noth-starring episodes. I like the fact that he had such a long history with the original LAW & ORDER and the writers are able to exploit that in setting up plots and characters in this new variation of the show where Noth is playing is original character.

Yes, you did.  I'm hopelessly/helplessly not caught up.

Susan's final scene disappointed me tremendously.  I knew she was needy, but did not realize her selfishness would result in her being treacherous toward the man she supposedly loves.  I understand the desire to keep Zach (emotionally immature though he is) away from her daughter, but she owed Mike the chance he needs to confront his son and tell him the truth.

I liked Bree's son last night, but the Bree/Howard thing doesn't do a thing for me.

Then I watched ROME. My, they're moving things along. Caesar meets Cleopatra and they zip months ahead to the birth of his son. Well, maybe his son, as one of the solider characters who captured her also had sex with her before she was delivered to Caesar.

Quite a few beheadings in this episode! Wow!

Anyone else worried about the increased activity around the Pacific Rim...what with earthquakes and volcanic eruptions?

I, for one, am just a tad bit concerned about the pending "big one"!

I'm seriously considering boxing things up and just living "out of" those boxes for a while...getting my CDs and DVDs off shelves/racks and into containers that won't fall over and spill out....

But...I'll get over it (primarily because I don't have room for all those boxes...and, that's no way to live).

That is a threat folks on the West Coast have to live with day in and day out. I think, though, that you can't live in the shadow of fear since, as you said, that's no way to live.

On the other hand, they say there's another tropical storm brewing on our side of the world. Oy!

I watched my "Cinderella" DVD yesterday.  Quite a wonderful film...still magical after all these years.

And the special features on the 2nd DVD are very entertaining and interesting (for the most part).

Some of the stuff is, of course, geared toward little girls, but much of it is of interest to anyone who loves Disney.
I can now public announce that  my "Cinderella" arrived too DR Ron. LOL.

Happy anniversary Vixmom and Vixdad.
